A lovely series
Junior Doctor Ruby Walker (Amrita Acharia, Game of Thrones) has just left a cold, grey England behind following a bad break up, travelling abroad to begin a glamorous hospital job in tropical South India.
Anticipating sunshine, palm trees and picturesque beaches, Ruby is also prepared for sacred cows, tuk-tuks and Delhi-belly but what she doesn't expect is everything she finds at the under-resourced Good Karma Hospital. Run by the no-nonsense Doctor Lydia Fonseca (Amanda Redman, New Tricks), the Good Karma Hospital turns no one away, with locals, ex-pats and tourists all welcomed through its doors.
With the help of Lydia’s beach-bar boyfriend and tourists-turned-residents Maggie and Paul, Ruby begins adjusting to a land of colourful Holi days and terrifying monsoons and realises that the Good Karma Hospital may be more than just a rundown medical outpost – it might just be home.
Not your usual medical show. Interesting drama with colourful characters set in picturesque southern India. Well worth watching.
