Business can be infused with community care, and Emily Williamson is living proof! In today's episode, I'm chatting with them about the evolution of their beautiful, heart-led business, Emily the Meal Dealer.
The business grew out of their work as a doula where they realised how much they loved caring for people through cooking. When their marriage broke down, Emily found themself as a single parent, and driven by the desire to support themself and their kids, took a deeper dive into their business.
Emily shares so generously about the realities of caring work, the tension between charging for something you’d do for free, and how they’ve found a way to weave community, compassion and practicality into their business model.
I love hearing about business owners that have managed to integrate generosity and giving back in a sustainable way. So I really enjoyed this chat, and I'm sure you will too!

So much wisdom!

As a psychologist I am loving this podcast. There is so much in it that it feels a bit like a cross between free therapy, and life coaching - with ideas and wisdom to be curious about and experiment with in your own life, presented in a warm and open way. I'm using lots of content in my own life and also lots of content with clients. Love your work Annie! Keep it up : )

Great info

What a beautiful person Annie is and it really comes through in her podcast. Annie shares lessons that we can all learn from - and it’s all about empowering women. Her dive into the importance of the menstrual cycle and paying attention to it (and even planning around it) is a game changer! Thanks Annie

Love love love!

I am absolutely loving Yes, You! Annie, your warmth and wisdom shine through in this beautiful series. I always feel like you’re hitting the nail on the head of exactly what o need to ‘hear’. I’ve found myself overcome with emotion more than once while listening (in a good way!). Keep them coming, please, as I truly look forward to each week’s episode.

Yes, me!

I’ve enjoyed every one of your episodes Annie and I take something away from each! I just listened to the to do list episode and could relate to it so much. I learnt quite a while ago that I would never get on top of all the things I planned, whether at work or home. So I use the carry over technique. It’s ok when my list isn’t complete... I just carry over until the next day or week or year. Sometimes that task just disappears which means it just wasn’t that important or it’s significance changed depending on my life.
I look forward to hearing more of your life lessons ! Keep up the great work.

Wonder womxn!!

Annie, it’s so lovely hearing your voice! Listening to the first intro episode alone felt like a warm hug and the reassuring words I didn’t realise I needed to hear. I’m tossing up between binging all the episodes in one day and making sure I ration them out to last me longer 😂

Yes please!

From her opening sentence in this exciting new podcast, Annie Carter is so warm, welcoming and friendly, it really feels like she is talking just to you. And what she has to say is SO interesting! She’s kicked off this new podcast with content about her own experience of coming to know – and live in synch with – her menstrual cycle. Having been on my own version of that journey I know it’s an incredibly powerful way to live, so much our bodies can teach us if we take the time to listen and respond to them. I love the way Annie is unapologetically feminist and feminine and am really looking forward to hearing more of what she has to say about leadership and life.
