Description

When Leon Kaufman's (Bradley Cooper) latest body of work – a collection of provocative, nighttime studies of the city and its inhabitants -- earns the struggling photographer interest from prominent art gallerist Susan Hoff (Brooke Shields), she propels him to get grittier and show the darker side of humanity for his upcoming debut at her downtown art space. Believing he’s finally on track for success, Leon's obsessive pursuit of dark subject matter leads him into the path of a serial killer, Mahogany (Vinnie Jones), the subway murderer who stalks late-night commuters.

Nothing anyone in this movie does makes any sense. This goes for both protagonist and antagonist. Add to that the seriously amateurish and distracting cheap CGI blood, corny everything, and silly ending, and you get a very average film.

Good but the ending...

This movie has quite a creative twist. It includes extreme gore, excellent acting, and a great storyline. I first only wanted to watch it because Bradley Cooper was in it ( he's so handsome ) but this movie actually turned out to be A-grade material :) Worth the cost, I believe.

excellent movie!!!!

Okay, so this isn't the absolute best horror movie around, but it certainly isn't the worst out there either.
I think it's quite well done - better than average - and is certainly watchable and worth the less than $20.00 price tag.
I wouldn't pay any more than the current price point of $17.99, but it's worth the current amount.
It doesn't fall into the so-bad-it's-good catergory, or the supposed-to-be-scary-but-is-actually-hilarious-'cause-it's-so-bad category, but it will give you a little tingle if you like this kind of thing.
It's not nearly as good as the book - but nothing ever is. I've given up comparing books and films because I learned years ago that the two never match up the way that you think they should.
I actually think the ending is appropriate for the movie - and I like Bradley Cooper.

Good except the ending

This movie was actually pretty good.... Except the ending.
The ending was so stupid and made the movie look like a joke. Looking at the reviews this movie has I never knew there was a book, but I do hope it's better than this movie.
If you do like horror movies with blood everywhere then yeah watch this, but do be aware the ending will have your mouth dropped with a confused look on your face.

I know I'm in the minority by saying this, but this is one of my favourite horror films. The last ten minutes take a complete 90° turn making you go "What the hell?!"
It's a beautiful film, and I love the idea of beauty presenting such horror as human murder. Bradley Cooper's descent into madness is a great study of the human character.
At $25 for an iTunes copy, I'd pass, despite the fact it's one of my favourite movies, I have the film on Blu-Ray. I'd get this when it's $10 to put onto my iPod.
This isn't your traditional, by-the-books horror film, don't expect Friday the 13th, because you'll be disappointed. However, if you like your movies different from usual fare, something that makes you think a little, give this a watch. Vinnie Jones is deliciously creepy as Mahogany!

Meh it was ok.

I'm sure the book was a thousand times better than this, it relies on nothing but senseless gore. Horrible movie, don't pay $25 for this, your better of going down to the video store if that. A mediocre B grade horror film that does nothing to thrill or scare the viewer, don't waste your $$$$ on this.

All aboard the Midnight Mediocre Train

I'm sure the book is much better... Overly unnecessary graphic scenes that are screaming of B-grade horror films is what this film is about. If you like eyeballs flying out of sockets and heads twisting off - then grab the pop corn and enjoy, otherwise, you're better off searching another title.
