I mean yeah acting is ok, and some of the effects are b grade, but hey I found it cool, I never played silent hill,w hat I know is its creepy and full of freaky stuff, acting isnt too up to huff in the games either, and less we forget its basing itself on a game that is made to last more than 2 hours . The movie definantly felt very silent hill, the monsters where creepy, the scenery was just creepy. Not the best movie of the year, but one of the better video game to movies I have seen, but than again I never played silent hill games. Lets all admit this: at least its not resident evil or doom.. Id recommend renting this. Directors also need to learn not everyone wants to watch 3D and make there movies more enjoyable for both 3d and 2D , I hate avatar but at least its good in both.

Firstly, Im so sick of cheesy 3D effects. SO VERY SICK OF THEM.
If you like Silent Hill (the games or first movie) this will probably make you mad. Its ham handed at delivering story, the dialogue is stupid and the plot is weak - disturbing considering Silent Hill 3 (the game its based on) had an excellent plot.
Seriously, unless youre watching out of curiosity, dont bother. The few cool bits DO NOT make up for what this movie lacks. And PS, monster designer - Hellraiser 3 called and would like CD and Chatters back. Get your own ideas!

Whether you are a fan or not, the writer/director did a shoddy job, acting was weak (mostly thanks to hammy dialogue) and the special effects budget could have been higher. If you go into it knowing these things you might still be able to find bits and pieces of it to be really quite enjoyable to watch.... otherwise I dont recommend it

Truly a mess
Ive never written a review on itunes before, but thought Id warn those Silent Hill fans out there. Stay away from this. Its really bad. Ive waited so long to see this and in that time Ive read how people say its bad but I could not imagine it to be that bad since its a Silent Hill universe and there are so many negative reviews to some good movies sometimes, but I can honestly say that this movie is bad.

A fun worthy sequel 3/5 C+
This movie had trouble getting released with a 2 year delay but finally made a home at Ope Road Films but the films reception both commercially and critically wasnt to good. The overall outcome lead to a box office flop with a 6% approvl rating on rotten tomaties, one of the worst recieved films of 2012. The overall product was enjoyable and had good efefcts for this particular genre. The cast perfrom well with Sean Bean being the outstanding performer. The script is well written but the story is predictable, dull and not very good. The production design is great, along with the screenplay. In summary, if you are a fan of the video game genre and the first film than you will fall head over heals for this sequel. 3/5 C+
