The original 2001 was/is my favourite movie ever. I had read 2010 many years ago but have forgotten the story. This movie bought it all back to me. Perhaps we might get a message from Jupiter soon to make things right here in 2016. For a 31 year old movie to still look pretty good is quite the achievement.

Sometimes you are not meant to make films just because the book is good, most of Clarkes books in the series are brilliant, but not reflected on screen. Too bad because I would have liked to have seen another one from the series on film, that probably won't happen now because this one was a dud. 2001 set the benchmark that won't ever be passed.
