In the summer of 2022 a series of storms in the south pacific lit up the southern hemisphere creating a significant swell so big it was named Code Red II. The Code Red II swell first hit Tahiti, then the south shore of Maui. Thus making the best waves in forty years at a surfspot known as Maalaea or Freight Trains.
