As a lover of the game I found this a very tedious slow moving show, The casting of Ellie is way off in my opinion which really didnt help either but as the title states its very marmite you'll either love it or hate it.

Not too bad for 17.99 for HD but this does need to be in 4K. Come on iTunes wake up

I found the series to be a tad slow going and funnily enough the most liked episode (episode 3 if I remember) I found the slowest. But saying that it was an enjoyable series and would highly recommend it. The two leads are great, and even with the slow pace and not being as gory as the walking dead. It is an enjoyable watch and would recommend it

Upfront: this is one the best series on TV this year. Acting, directing, writing, superb across all departments, no complaints with the show whatsoever. You should absolutely watch this series…

…however, the picture quality of this AppleTV release is really disappointing. I’m not even bothered it’s not in 4K, I’m still cool with standard HD. The problem is there’s all this weird artifacting, dropped pixels and skipping frames in episode one that gets quite distracting in some parts (I don’t know if this is a problem with the whole series yet).

I hope HBO and Apple upload a fixed version soon, it’s a shame that such a great show should be marred by such an amateurish technical issue.

Can’t speak highly enough of this show. I’ll definitely be going back over the episodes.

But. Buuuuuut, as others have mentioned it’s not 4k here. Maybe that’s just the deal Apple have had to accept to get it on this platform. Could be they never get 4k, could be a timed thing to keep 4k exclusive on other platforms for now. Who knows.

But I really do hope 4k comes here soon.

Visually stunning and beautiful story telling.

Episode 3 “Long, long time” should get an award, it is a compelling completely unexpected human story which is probably one of the best moments of television I’ve witnessed.

Over hyped and under performed - poor acting from the leads. Too much incidental music (is it really necessary to play sad songs at every sad moment, are the audience that stooopid?)

I played the game back in 2013 and was blown away and was anxious that the TV show wouldn’t hold up. I’m happy to say that I’m wrong and the whole is great.

I was expecting a bit more action however trying to stay within the realms of an element of realism Joel and Ellie couldn’t go through the same volume of clickers and raiders as on the game.

Absolutely amazing first series, great all rounder.

Only problem is that I’ve got a bad feeling this might be an accurate prediction of the near future………

If you like apocalyptic or infected/zombie type things then don’t hesitate.
