Description

Old School tells the story of Nathan Hindmarsh, one of rugby league's most popular players and captain of the Parramatta Eels. It's an inspiring autobiography about an old-fashioned type of footballer, a one-club man whose hard work and commitment on the footy field are legendary, and who has always led from the front.
Along the way Old School gives readers a view from the paddock of Hindmarsh's record-breaking career at Parramatta, and chronicles the dizzying highs of playing for your club, state and country and the heartbreaking lows of grand final defeats. Hindmarsh reveals the joys of marriage and fatherhood, and of playing for and captaining the club he loves, but also uncovers with unflinching honesty the personal issues that he has struggled with off the field.
Down-to-earth, honest and full of warmth and humour, this book is a must-read for Nathan's army of fans and friends.

Just like He played, hard and straight forward.

A loyal player and friend to all who he knows is what I take away from reading this. One of my favourite players of the modern era and this book just confirms he his down to earth and not as high flying as the current elite sportsman. Well down Hindy and look forward to reading the next release now your are retired.

Champion!

I would just like to say that I have enjoyed reading every page of this book.
I love Nathan's honesty and frankness, people say of Nathan that he is one of the most honest people they know and it certainly shows in this book.
I wish him and his family every success for the future, there are many people in this world who give their all and don't really receive the accolades they deserve. Surely Nathan is one of those people.
Thank you for sharing part of your life with us Hiney.
You will always hold top shelf in my eyes with all the Parramatta greats!

Great Read - Took me down Memory Lane!!!

As a lifelong Eels supporter, i really started to follow the team more when Hindy started out, I found the book took me back through all the games. I remember every single one mentioned.
Was really interesting to read about life outside football (injuries, family, gambling) which you never really hear about and the struggles just to get that first game.
A truly great career Hindy which you should be proud of. Not many players have captained their club plus played for Australia, NSW and Grand Finals.
All in all a great read to recap a truly great career!!!

Honest just like the footballer he is

Hindmarsh can be described as honest in every facet of his career and his autobiography lives to that expectation. Thanks for sharing the joy and the pain of your career Hindy, the same joy and pain parra fans have felt with you. Every footy fan will appreciate this book as they do Nathan Hindmarsh.
