I quite liked the first book in this series, but the second one lost me. One minute the female lead is complacent, the next she’s fired up, the next she’s melting into him and it was so hard to like, and was completely unrealistic and made the character lack a true self. The male was abusive, his behaviour was quite concerning. Male lead: ‘I take care of what is mine’ but he doesn’t treat her respectfully. This woman was completely overtaken by a complete stranger and locked up ‘for her safety’ without any reasoning. S*x is not an answer to genuine questions. I get that domineering men are a ‘hot’ subject but this went way too far and was not hot at all. The male was so unlikeable, inconsiderate and completely intolerable. I did not like the book and can’t believe I read the whole thing.
