When you know the facts, it’s interesting how a character can be portrayed as reckless and selfish (A Flight of Magpies) and then realise how desperate situations can force a good man into seemingly bad behaviour. Reading this story, or course I found myself cheering for Jonah, a man with no opportunity to learn of his gift and after a dreadful upbringing, no chance to trust anyone.
