What a mess - the UI is cryptic - employment courses either don’t come up with any results, or are very detailed yet lack substance - when you try to book it comes up with error or spinning balls - you try and call the hotline get out on hold for 2 hours

Can’t save jobs

So I can no longer save jobs I want to apply for which makes this app useless. It says you may only add 100 jobs to your saved jobs. Remove existing jobs to continue. However I have removed all jobs and even cleared all expired jobs but it still will not let me save jobs. How hard can it be to get that simple function right. Seek, indeed etc don’t have this issue. Even tried uninstalling and reinstalling and nope doesn’t work.

My applied jobs don’t save

Anytime I use this app to apply for a job I click on a link that takes me to a website and I can fill out an application that isn’t recognised by workforce or the website shows me an error code and I can’t continue.

Fix the issues!

Haven’t been able to log in for ages, reset my password so many times and just realised the issue. Can’t log in using email/password combo due to being prompted to use digital id/passkey on the myGov app (which then disables a password log in) and does not seem to be a compatible way to log in with this app.

I know it’s a different app but if logging in via myGov the submit button is off the page so it is also unusable 🙄

garbage app

you can't load up your resume and evidence of job applications never turns up and you basically don't have the evidence to get a benefit payment.for 1 and a half weeks i've been living on what i grow in my garden just coming into spring so close to living on oxygen for dinner in that time and no one on the hotline would help,the people on the phone were as useless as a bull with you know.i went into the centrelink office and cancelled any claim of benefits,of which the workforce being a third party contractor to the centrelink either won't work together or help in any affective way.the centrelink lady say what are you going to eat and survive i laugh and said oh now someone cares finally,continued my cancellation and had my time completely wasted.these people that design these apps should be on benefits not creating such problems and thinking they are good at there job.take my word old school print out ya resume and go to the companies you want to work for and try you're luck i did and one day and i've got a job.thanks for the hunger pains and lack of support to your customers workforce and centrelink for this i learned a lot.the government is never improving it's the only making it hard, no wonder there is so much crime.

The stupid thing signs you out then wants to send you a verification code that then doesn’t work and now I’m temporarily locked out. Terrible app, timed out 3 times on the first question

I tried selecting location and it has none close to where I am and won’t let me put in my location. I then tried selecting a job preference because it would not let me move on without it, while I was trying to do this it timed me out 3 times and I had to keep logging back in. Then when I was trying to find a job to select, it kept showing professional jobs and nothing I’m educated for so I finally selected leaflet delivery and it timed out again. This app just made me feel totally useless. It’s supposed to help lift you up and get you in the workforce but I am not a school principal or engineer or manager or medical professional, where are the entry level jobs. Way to sink the boot in when I’m down.

Too too much requirements

Number 1 : In order to use/download or update this app my device$ ( phone/laptop MacBook /iPad ) requires iso of 13.5 or later which only my iPhone12 (purchased 2018) is compatible to do the other devices MacBook ( purchased 2017) and iPad ( purchased 2015) update to Iso 13 so now when I open app on these 2 devices I’m sent on the never ending loop of requires update~requires iso 13.5 or later~download a earlier version~etc

Then one has to spend 15~20 navigating through to find what where then input so much stuff I’m already not that fast but not that slow at typing however this appp takes up all a lot too much time in order to complete my minimum requirements and then drops out or resets or doesn’t acknowledge my point even if I’m over the minimum

Submitting Job Searches

This part of the app is quite tricky.

There is no 'NOTES' section for any feedback one might want to add to their job search upload. The only option is to use the tab reserved for "location" as it is the only tab that doesn't require your input.

The requirements are another issue. Most online job applications don't provide a phone number or email to contact, so you have to go find one separately. This creates further complications because some companies simply request feedback from a website but you are required to enter an email in "the correct format". This forces a job seeker to enter faulty information and then tick the box that says they entered everything correctly; making it technically possible to be punished.

If you want to talk about this issue you have to go ask your individual job agent, whose opinion is personal. For example, I was told by one individual that it's about "holding job seekers more accountable" which makes no logical sense due to everything written above.

I have been reporting my points as required but the total does not update. For all the activities and work hours I have done in the last month, I should have over 150 points, yet have been stuck on 45 for the last two weeks.

App tells me I have an urgent appointment at 10am, yet does not specify what date or an address of where I am expected to go.

I had an interview scheduled recently, when I went to mark as attended the entire appointment had just disappeared and nowhere on the entire app was there an option to mark the interview as attended. Now today I receive a message telling me my payment is on hold because I failed to attend the interview that I definitely did attend. This whole set up is a mess and such a hassle. My provider must hate me by now with the amount of times I have had to contact her regarding these issues.

Horrible system

This whole thing isn’t user friendly by any means, and not just because of the app. If there was a place to review the whole service I would, but can’t. There are many times the app and website will not load. When reporting jobs applied for or interviews, you have to enter an email and phone number for the job, and in most cases these aren’t provided to job seekers, especially online which is where 95% of applications are now. It’s been around less than 2 months and there’s already so many issues. Frustrating.

Can’t access app

Can no longer use the app to report my jobs when I use wifi it says swap to data and vice versa when I swap to the other and try to access the app, this needs to be fixed immediately as there is no solution so far even deleting the app and re downloading it after removing the apps previous packet data also does nothing to resolve the issue, I have tried all possible troubleshooting methods given to me by the organisation behind online job seeker (not the app developers themselves but the company the app is designated for) also but they believe they are not trained to deal with such matters.

I used to use the “stars“ to keep track of jobs I applied for but that function doesn’t work anymore. The stars would go from an outline to yellow when you tapped them.

Considering this app is supposed to facilitate job seeker payments, it’s disappointing that it doesn’t work 90% of the time. I do not always have access to my computer and find it easier to use my phone to upload my evidence for my job search, but unfortunately I cannot rely on this as the app just shuts down and doesn’t work for weeks at a time. Why doesn’t this app give us notifications or messages? Every other app on my phone will notify me of the most mundane of things and here’s a government app that won’t notify me I have an appointment, or that the appointment has been cancelled, or that I have to review a document and then you get hit with demerit points because you didn’t know! The Centrelink app gives notifications to remind us of actions we need to do, it would be great if this one did as well.

So every time that go onto the app. I enter one job search effort and then it kicks me out and exits the app. I then have to go back in and start over again. 20 jobs a month I need to put in and it kicks me out each time. I really appreciate this app, however the one thing that would make it perfect would be the ability to remove jobs started. I use this to keep track of what I’ve applied for and there’s a fifty job limit that I reached a while ago and now can’t star any more or remove old ones that have expired. Please fix this!

Doesn’t work

Recently the app keeps shutting down after opening. The only way to make it work is to uninstall then reinstall. Then it works once until you sign in. After that the error message keeps coming up “Error login failed …” Completely useless but just what is expected from an Australian Government app. Oh and it does nothing to help you find a job either.

This app automatically cuts my pay because I miss appointments that are for looking for work when I actually HAVE A F$&@ing job. It’s like you don’t want me to have a job but want me to be looking for a job. Once you are working you should be exempt from the stupid jumping through hoops. I have two boys almost full time and have to juggle work , babysitting, life and this f$&@ing app and max employment. Helpful but

The app is good, it helps with keeping track of things & I find entering the jobs easier this way but, it makes you put an email or phone number in for the employer and if it’s an online application for a large company, there isn’t any of these details available and most large companies these days make you contact them via an online form. This makes it rather difficult to use.

Horrible

The App is designed to simplify the job seekers efforts by collating all your job seeker efforts however when searching for a job you are directed to a second site which is another job network site then more often than not redirected to a third party site. If you apply for the job then it’s not recorded in your job search engine and you need to enter it manually which is a nightmare because all the essential information required is not available and therefore cannot complete anything.

It’s a waste of time and requires a better platform to work from and not have third party links.

The layout and tabs of the app are good.

So it’s like when you say “ lights are on but nobody’s home”

Another update tonight and still not working

I have a feeling we can’t log in due to the toggle buttons in the settings section . When I go to settings the toggle buttons for ‘use pin’ and ‘enable animations’ move to on so therefore they were off and I think they are switching to off when we try and use the app. When I use any other app I have never seen the toggle buttons move themselves.

I cannot get a screenshot fast enough but hopefully the programmers should understand what I mean.

App has stopped working for quite some time now. Takes a long time to load, can’t use any option on the app (such as job search or even log in) then says “something isn’t quite right. Please try again later or use mobile friendly website” or “please check your internet connection and try again”

Fix bug and update app, or just make users use the website and delete the app.

Not working

This app hasn’t worked for well over a week now. Just gives a constant error message when it bothers to actually load. For something jobseekers are supposed to rely on it isn’t acceptable for it to be down so long.

There is no option to clear the cache on an iPhone. Maybe instead of the generic response you should actually look at the app to see what is causing the issue. I’m clearly not alone in my frustration over the apps uselessness.

I also cannot give feedback on the app via the app as that doesn’t load either 🤦🏼‍♀️

A poorly confusing remake of the same thing.

Very slow to react, end up pressing wrong link which then expands.... so much wasted time in going back a page. Even more frustrating is the uploading of documents. Can only upload photos. So unless I have to take a photo if emails from one device to apply via an other device. A new feature of job seeking evidence, of filling in a “form” of whom you spoke to of what company, very old school work for dole diary. However still have to upload evidence!

So frustrating, convoluted, slow interface, does not really leave me in the positive vibe, to look for a job, as I feel pretty stupid if I can use a simple app!

Poor quality app and website when compared to other job search apps.

Trust the Australian government to make job seekers use such an awful app and job search website to meet their job seeker obligations. Some of us are genuinely looking for work.

When you search a location, it displays jobs claiming to be in the location you’ve searched. When you open the job description, the job is actually based at a completely different location, often hundreds of kilometres away from the search location.

The other annoying feature about this app is that when you want to read the full job description, you get redirected to many various third party websites. Why can’t the job description be included within the app (like other job search apps) and the only links should be to the job application on the job advertisers website.

Most stupid hard to register app

I really don’t know why them Australian government has spent the money putting this app together if it’s virtually impossible to register and use it? I have registered and still cannot log in, it’s no wonder this country is in a mess if the government put these tools out there to pretend they Re doing all they can to assist people to find a job but make it unusable! I’ve now deleted it as I can’t be bothered trying again and again and getting the same results! May the Australian Government and who ever is responsible for this app burn in hell.

Some bugs. Good otherwise.

I’m not sure if this was an intentional change or a bug, but since the last update the background colour in several sections of the app has changed to black with the text being a dark grey or black (not visible). In other sections the background is instead light grey and the text white. It’s making it impossible to read anything.

I’ve also stopped receiving alerts that I have notifications or messages from my consultant, despite giving permission to the app to do this.

The app overall, apart from the above issues, has worked quite well. It’s easy to navigate and input information.

Well designed but it has its problems

Unable to log in on multiple occasions, logs off in the middle of putting in a job application, the format is great just needs some twigging to get it up to scratch, also more room to put info not just for the department but for own information, I liked using the MYGOV but more of a badly to login would be better if could type more info, for my own use and could refer back if needed.

Uploading evidence by image only

Tried several times to supply evidence of applications through the select file option - which allows either to take a photo or select from the camera roll... unfortunately it doesn’t recognise images as image files and will not upload.

Not Happy!

Every time I try to upload my resume it logs me right out of the App... I can’t seem to save it unless I copy and paste it and even then I can’t upload it to anything job application because it’s a “text” not “doc” or “PDF”. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong...

Definitely not an app to rely on!!!

This app is to make things easier!? Half the time you can’t do anything cause the app frozen/ won’t let you log in this would be part reason why people payment be cut off I’ve completed my job search just to have half the jobs wiped and received a demerit point tip screen shot after you completed your job search Incase does happen! Applying for work on here is great simplifies things when the app is actually working

Absolutely the worst !

It’s so annoying to have to log in every single time. It’s an app !! Surely it should be automatic ? I don’t think it even remembers my user name like my banking apps do.

It is almost impossible to upload anything from iPhone, You try uploading a docx file it tells you you can’t upload It cos it must be a docx file !!!

Then when you do apply for jobs , you can’t just write a cover letter , it has to be uploaded as a docx or pdf but you have a limit of 5 slots to upload to. You don’t seem to be able delete any from the app. So the 20 jobs a month I have to apply to generally don’t have cover letters so what’s the point?

App is quite good when it works

The app broke sometime in the last 2 weeks and has remained broken, i am happy the error lists a mobile friendly website to use instead, but over all you would expect the issue to be solved by now.

When the app works it gets the job done so you dont need to use the website, does what it is supposed too.

Hope they fix it soon.

Awful app, costing me my payments

I’m really not happy with this app at all, just like everyone else! It logs you out after short periods of time, there is no longer the option to add jobs to my last reporting period and just recently it has been having some kind of “backend server error” for 5 days. Because of this app/website and how our payments are completely reliant on them, I am now suspended and my job provider cannot help me. I am furious.

I’ve emailed the sites feedback mail address and nothing has been done to correct the issues.

I need to add jobs to my last reporting period ASAP and that option isn’t even on the webpage either!!!! Fix this please!!!!

App isn’t user friendly

Unable to upload my current resume - I can’t seem to delete the ones on here either. Also when you apply for a position that’s external, in order to record it, you have to go out of the job and back to your dashboard which means you have to start a search again. This can be frustrating, particularly if your search has yielded many results and you’re up to page four or five.....

Lacking in multiple areas

Select to be notified, don’t receive notifications.

Multiples of the exact same jobs (sometimes spaced out, sometimes one after the other - at times 8 or more times in a row of the same job), frustrating and a waste of time.

When a link sends you to ‘career one’ the job doesn’t exist or can’t find what you were looking for etc. Having to enter every single link to view full description and qualifications needed for the position.

Why does it take so long for the above to come up . All I want to do is add x3 jobs I have applied for one my iPad and it brings up everything but- is this Centrelinks way of unwittingly catching people out - I have about 10 jobs already in my search effort now I cannot even find the page ...... rubbish app

My review

I do enjoy the notifications and the tasks to complete section. It is quite a well designed app.

However, recording job search evidence can be a little tricky. I feel sorry for whomever is not technologically savvy for they would struggle and become annoyed quite easily.

For example: I have learnt that if I have the app open for too long and then reopen to record evidence of a job I applied to, I can enter all the information in but once I submit it the app logs me out and I have to re-enter all the info once more. To get around this little glitch I log myself out and in again after I know the app has been open for too long and not been used.

It was fine last week but now ...

I used this app every single day. Now it says that I’m not connected to the internet but it allows me to log in. When it logs me in, there is absolutely nothing on my Dashboard. I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled it but with the same results. So, now I have to go through MyGov which is frustrating and unstable. That’s why I use the app. Now I’ve had to return to the old way. Can you please fix this. Thank you.

Think again!

Warning This app is just to waist people’s time.

I mean think about it, if the department of health and human services gave us a simple way to meet requirements such as logging into 1 government website or app using your profile all the agencies linked to just that one web/app,

What would you do with the rest of the day.

Instead of sitting at home on the phone, computer or in the Centrelink seats trying to figure out why the f@$”k you can’t report or update your details or find out why they have cut your payments off and told you to pay back a $3000 debt that only exists because the gave you the wrong form or have the wrong details somehow from 1993 when you were 16 or the website was suddenly not working when you tried log in.

I know I’d be out looking for work and enjoying the sunshine.

Instead I have been told to sit in a round room, then in 5 minutes get up and find the corner or maybe they sent me down the local hardware to get a long wait and a can of striped paint. I’m sure you all know what I’m talking about, yeah you with the left handed screwdriver and the bag full of 10mm holes hanging from the skyhooks... they got you good!

It’s all a throw off, smoke and mirrors because our government departments such as dhhs are being used as a buffer between those who really run the country and the public who think they have a say in how we do things here in Australia. Think again. The government have big plans for us all and we’ll only realise when it’s too late.

Ok, but could be better

Most people don’t share devices, so automatically signing people out of the app doesn’t make sense. The app should give you an option to enable/disable auto sign-outs. Also had a bug where the app would sign me out if I tried to view the details of my job applications.

Not a good app!!

Ridiculous!! Way to slow, cannot figure out how to do most of the stuff on here as it’s not set up properly. We already do all this on paper, give it to our job agency. What’s left for them to do in their job that we don’t already do? Why does it all have to be online?, where is the face to face contact. Meaning I see this as pointless an a waste of gov time & money to make this app!!! If it was easier to use & actually be able to understand all the BS then yes it might be ok, but when the agency doesn’t even no how to work it, then you no this app has come out way too soon!

Broken App

It's a completely useless app that is targeted and advertised as being an easy way of tracking job efforts however every time you go out of the app and come back it crashes and asks you to log in again as well as when you leave your job search effort, and come back to fill in more jobs, you're sent to a blank screen that won't load properly. Would give a 0 star as it is an utterly useless and broken app but Apple doesn't give 0 stars. Even deleting the app and redownloading makes it worse and you end up restarting job efforts based around an even more broken welfare system that is Centrelink.

Useless

App is meant to help you look for jobs and stay on top of your progress in doing so. Logs you out each time you close the app so makes it impossible to get the notifications you need to get in order to do what the app is meant to help you with.

Whole point of an app like this is to help keep important things in your pocket so you can be right there when something comes through and reply to it, but you can't even get the notifications you need unless you log in again and again and again.

Incomplete app

I’m not sure why, as a government funded application, there are so many bugs and features missing. This app is pretty glitchy at the best of times and not sure if it serves a whole lot of purpose. The thing that ruined this app the most for me though is that I need to log in every time I open it.... this is really annoying and should be the first thing fixed

The app doesn’t do anything useful except link you to the jobactive website. What is the point of this app?

Job active page doesn’t load. Just seems to continue “getting news”.

News List. I don’t know what it’s for but it’s always empty.

Menu on top left screen allows me to sign in. Although that doesn’t make the app active. The Menu bar is where I found the link to the jobactive website. But, of course, that still doesn’t effect the app.
