Description
crowdDJ® lets you choose your favourite songs in your favourite places - gyms, bars, hotels, bowling alleys, cruise ships and thousands of other locations across Australia and New Zealand. More countries are coming on-board soon.
Using crowdDJ® you can:
- find crowdDJ venues
- view the current playlist (past and upcoming)
- search and browse the venue's music library
- sort alphabetically or by release year
- play your favourite songs by adding them into the playback queue
- support Aussie musicians and play their music - you'll see our new Australian Played icon next to all Aussie tracks
By connecting your Spotify account, you can also:
- import your Spotify playlists to match with the venue's music library
- take home the previous or upcoming 50 tracks by saving to your own Spotify playlists
- add individual songs to your Spotify playlists or a new Spotify playlist
- view featured and suggested songs similar to your music selections
- listen to or preview a track through Spotify
There's no need to create an account or give any of your details - just turn on Location Services so you can be verified at the venue (we do not use or store this information), choose 'Continue as Guest' and 'Check In' to your current Location! Use the Map to see where you can crowdDJ® next.
Each crowdDJ® venue has a unique sound, and you can add to the vibe in that location by picking songs that fit their brand. This unique sound and music library may include release year filters, exclude explicit content or focus on a particular music genre. If you are importing your Spotify playlists please note that song-matching may be affected by these settings, which are requested by the venue. Search results may also be affected.
crowdDJ® is a public performance music platform exclusive to Nightlife Music clients. Chances are you listen to Nightlife at your favourite bar, work out to it at your gym, dance to it at the hottest nightclubs and even shop to it at your local mall. Nightlife Music is Australia's most recognised music entertainment system and has been for almost 30 years - nightlife.com.au.

Would love to see more songs, so far out of my 1000+ Spotify saved songs there’s 7 on this app

Update has ruined it.
I use it at the gym a lot and the update has taken the fun out of it. 2 minute wait between picking songs instead of one and trying to verify the code is a buggy mess. Must be fixed!

What kind of app asks you to request a song to be played only for it to be queued for 16 hours, when you’re long gone from the venue? The most stupid app I’ve ever downloaded. What a waste of energy

This app has ruined my gym experience - watching the latest music videos was what I looked forward to.
Crowd dj hardly has any music videos with just vanilla random content now played on the tv screens

Hard to use, rubbish song options
The app itself is hard to use once you search for something, navigating back to the queuing screen is a mystery.
Down the side there is a menu that categorizes songs by year. Unfortunately, the size of the font is for ants and attempting to use it inevitably has you scrolling back and forth between the tests without meaning to.
Just rubbish, someone please come up with something better

Great App
Love this App, feel empowering when I pick my diva songs and nobody in the gym it’s me haha. But the recent update won’t let me add a queue to the music as in the moment I added 1 min later it disappeared. I’m not sure if someone can manually delete my song or is it just the update. BUT love the app tho!

A great way to pick YOUR music at venues
I really like the power this app gives me, you have the power to pick the next song at your local gym or pub, it’s a powerful, god like feeling!
My only gripe is the lack of music selection in some venues, I understand it’s the venue that picks what music they allow on the app which is disappointing, but I can’t blame the app for that.
I would like to see more venues, gyms especially, embrace a wider variety of music. Why can’t I go to my local gym & pick a rock song that gets the blood & iron pumping? The lack of music variety seems to be more about the prejudices of the venue, then the app.
But overall it’s a great jukebox app!

Great app just add one thing !
Love this app in the gym it’s amazing and gets me through my workouts with my taste in music!! Just want one thing added and that’s a genre search function! I find it hard to find some songs as you need to know the artist

Great app
Don’t listen to all the bad reviews. This app works great for the venue that I usually goto. Has great compatibility with my device and a great selection of songs. All these complaints seem to be because of the venue themselves so people need to stop giving the app a bad rep. Better than nothing.

What sounds like an interesting app at first turns out to be filled with bugs.
It doesn’t even load any locations, gets stuck on loading icon and crashes.

Great idea. Poorly managed by venues
This app is great until the venue turns off the ability to request songs. Why have this service in your establishment if you don’t intend on allowing requests??
App now deleted as no point having an app if venues that you visit don’t allow you to access the purpose of the app

Terrible app
Terrible app, crashes whenever I try to link up to Spotify. The music collection without a Spotify connection is terrible. Bring back the standard aux chord!

Unable to access full library
The app is linked to my Spotify, but now I only see songs I’ve played though Spotify. The inability to select from particular years from the venue’s full library is incredibly frustrating! Please fix this.

No code displayed to verify
App keeps asking me to "Tap Display Code" and type code displayed in venue - it never displays any code no mater how many times you tap it, so what's the point of an app that doesn't work?

Good concept but poor execution
The app does its job but the app design is a pain on my eyes and the app hasn't even been made to support high resolution displays such as thise found on the iPhone 7 Plus and other Plus models.
Update the app design and support high resolution displays and this would be amazing!!

Downloaded this app so I could play music at my local gym, couldn't find a single song I liked. Nothing but mainstream commercial garbage.

It works, not well though
It's pretty cool being able to pick music for the gym, but the interface is pretty bad, it keeps resetting when I lock my phone, changing venues without reason, and not to mention the seriously limited supply of music, and I can't figure out how to play my Spotify songs.

Unfriendly Crowd DJ
App crashes frequently and freezes my iPhone to the point where I have to restart the whole thing. Frequently logs you in to somewhere else when you're 5 meters away from the machine you want to use.
My local was recently taken over by a corporate group. They put one of these machines in. It was great at first but then somebody upstairs decided that the Stones, Dylan and The Doors "were inappropriate for the venue" and they won't let us use the app any more. Beware!

New corporate owners at my local installed one of these. Then they didn't like what the customers played so they blocked us from it. Something about "inappropriate choices for the venue". The Stones and Bob Dylan are inappropriate for the local pub?! Get over yourselves.
