I have tried many times to unsubscribe and still cannot find any way of doing it. Incredibly frustrating. Expected more of a publication with as much credibility as the economist. It’s just disappointing.

Version 1.6
Does just what it says on the tin - 95% of the time. It’d be good if day editions were stored or saved locally by default, or at least give the option to do this for places where immobile connections aren’t great. Also some UI quirks and inconsistencies from time to time.

Buggy for Audio - I wish they’d support podcasts

Version 1.5.16
I mainly listen to the Economist. The App is a poor way to listen. Why have Economist insisted on creating their own audio capability when millions of developers are already working on podcast players?

Good, just mind the sexist language

Version 1.5.12
Sparse and punchy writing style, which is loved. The sexist language is appalling for a liberal publication. Eg references such as “the tax man” or the default pronoun being “he” are outdated and not appreciated. A few more quotes from women and a few more stories on gender would be good.

Love the morning update - voice audio would be great though

Version 1.5.6
The Espresso app remains amongst the best things to do to start a day, full of interesting things to digest and the app has come along way since it started. But still there is the problem of waiting for a perfect net connection to download the days data. Whereas every other news source allows “near enough is good enough”. Other than that - great!

I love this app so much! It's the perfect accompaniment to my morning commute on the train, delivering bite-sized pieces of news so that I don't miss out on anything for the day. My only comment would be that it would be ideal if an audio version of each short article were offered so that I could listen to it while I'm driving.

I've used the app since the outset of my economist subscription, and I can say assuredly that this is an excellent way for those in a rush or who just prefer a more condensed version of their news. Version 1.3
You used to be able to download and listen to the audio sections in the order that you want. For example I like to listen to Business, the Science and Tech, then choose which region, US or Europe depending on what had happened in the last week. Since the new version release I can no longer do that, I'm forced to listen in order of top to bottom. I think it's a real shame that feature is lost and would love to see it back.

The Economist delivers, as always!
