Bit frustrated
So I generally like the app. However, many times after reading stories, when I log back in later, and refresh to get the latest, I have to invariably go through the stories I have already read. Imagine going through 25-40 just to reach the unread list. This has been going on for a year. I’m wondering why you wouldn’t fix something as basic as this?
Then there’s having to go through Bollywood news that is as good as putting garbage into your head. Should I not be allowed to select topics?

The app used to be a phenomenal app. I would never mind one ad after 5-6 news stories but now you guys have partnered with upgrad and all i see is upgrad ads and no news. I have to swipe 3-4 ads to get to the news articles. Please reduce the number of ads i do not wish to delete this app.

Not a good ‘news app’ anymore
I must appreciate the idea of condensing a news to sixty or so words and that was why I downloaded Inshorts in the first place, but now the news app isn’t as great as it was.
- Ads filling up spaces instead of proper news, irrelevant and spammy
- The bottom of every short now has an unrelated ad instead of what used to be a fact or a related past news
- Quality of news has reduced, celeb gossip and twitter drama increasingly entering feed instead of news that we should be seeing, even though I could understand the app wants to cover all kinds of news.
- The extended news (when we right swipe) to a short isn’t reliable always, sometimes not related or relevant at all, and most of all sometimes even those aren’t complete.
- Seems like opinions are creeping in instead of unbiased fact statements.
Uninstalling after bearing with it for a while expecting better things with updates, but I have had enough. The app has a good overall rating but if the developers don’t work on the above points then this rating is a misrepresentation of what the app really is.
