Description

HID Mobile Access® merges security with convenience by enabling a smartphone or other mobile device to securely open a door or gate.

If you would like to start using HID Mobile Access® in your organization please visit http://www.hidglobal.com/services/mobile-access to learn more about the service and compatible readers. The App will only be useful to you once your organization has been setup with compatible readers and your security administrator can issue Mobile IDs.

To improve the door opening experience, we detect readers when the app is not open. Location Services is used exclusively for this purpose. Continued use of location services in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Very unreliable

Works poorly on my iPhone 11 (ie. it will activate eventually after a few taps/waves), but only works about 10% of the time on my partners iPhone 11. Apple Pay screen comes up whenever used just adding to the confusion. We have had it for nearly a year and none of the updates have helped.

Not working after upgraded to iOS 13.5.1

The ap is no longer working after iOS upgraded to 13.5.1. It was all fine prior to the upgrade.

Key deleted

Attention app developers. You need to change this app so if someone loses their phone or upgrades, they can still use they key card they purchased. It’s not hard. Make it a user password system.

If you don’t make customers happy, it will soon catch up with you and organisations will stop using it and look for better alternatives.

Poorly maintained

This app is functional but is barely maintained. Still uses pre-iOS7 iconography and doesn’t have support for features like dark mode. Widget interactions are super hacky and the apps preferred solution requests constant location service access which drains your battery. Poor solution to a legitimate problem.

Needs phone restart for every operation

Only works one or 2 times then phone needs reboot. This app and a sure way of locking yourself out of your premises. When it does work it takes about 20 seconds to unlock. As useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle. It did work. Latest Version is useless

This one off subscription will rob you

Each purchase of a mobile access key will set you back $20, which is reasonable as this is a similar cost to a key card.

However, once the app is deleted (In my case I got a new phone), your key is lost and you need to pay the $20 again. This is because each key is tied to an end point.

I contacted support and they explained to me that’s just the way it is, and my investment was non-refundable even though I was only able to use it for a little under a month.

I was not aware that the key is lost upon app deletion when I purchased my key.

Great tap!

Great to be able to tap into my office but seems to only work when the app is open since the 8th July release.
