Complete scam app, service and company
Could not cancel subscription in app. Could not cancel subscription on website. Could not contact support. All services “unavailable”. It did however in the background actually cancel subscription, confirmed by email, but not at the end of the cycle in 7 days, as I selected online, but immediately with only $1 refund, meaning to use it today and for next 7 days as originally intended, I would have to sign up for an entire month again today. Absolute scam process. Cannot wait to go Office Space on my Microsoft Xbox (that’s right, I’m not even gonna give it away) and buy a Steam Machine instead.

Fable II doesn’t work
Fable II no longer works on Series X after console firmware update. Widely recorded problem but Xbox has disbanded its backwards compatible team.
Updates should not render previous purchases unplayable. Xbox support couldn’t care less.

Consoles keep disappearing
Most time I open the app to check or install a game, the console list is empty. It seems like app updates or random issues empty out the console list and I need to add the console again. Usually takes more time than starting up the Xbox and doing things on console. The app is practically unusable.

Bring back all captures/game clips
I had all my captures/game clips deleted that were 6+ years old that meant a lot to me. I had no clue that they were all gone because I didn’t play my Xbox for quite sometime.. and to come back to found out its all been delete. Without me getting an opportunity to quickly save my captures/game clips to Xbox/OneDrive before they’re all deleted.
So please give us an opportunity to save our old deleted captures/game clips so that we can relive our memories again. Even if it’s only temporary that I get a chance to save them on Xbox/OneDrive.

Revert the recent change please!
Recently the ability to buy games was added to the app, but now native Remote Play/Cloud Gaming functioning has been removed from the app and you are instead directed to an internet browser version. For whatever reason, this internet browser version works terribly, either consistently failing to connect or catching me in a repeated sign in loop. When I get to a game I cant even control it or remove the 'connect a controller' prompt anymore with touch or keyboard. Terrible change. Either revert it and make an xbox shop app or make a dedicated remote play app so that I don't have to bring my Xbox Series X with me wherever I go, heavily increasing the risk of it getting broken, lost or stolen

Why do we have to pay more money so we can play a game that already costed us $60 online, and it’s not even on the Microsoft store on pc. How am I supposed to play games with my friends when I don’t have money to be spending on more subscriptions??? Can’t we play games without having to pay more money. Can’t we have online for free and have gamepass core as the cheap gamepass subscription of the bunch so the more money you spend on a subscription the more games you get for free?? Xbox is still a good platform aside from the fact that they like to have as much money as they can. Also here is a business appeal, if you don’t have to pay to play online more people will probably buy your consoles.

Only missing Groups
We want groups back, groups was awesome to have access with others you can’t always just play games with.
Also since the gamepass was revamped getting points is slower to build to exchange for 1 month gamepass ultimate. Use to take me 2 months to build now it’s closer to 3 like they don’t already make us pay enough for the subscription.
Fix the Xbox gamepass points redemption for daily and weekly objectives, they constantly fail to be able to turn in.

Love the UI, easy to navigate, the ability to use your phone as a remote control through the app comes in handy often, being able to save screenshots to your phone in one touch is awesome, grey isn’t the most appealing colour though I understand it fits with Xbox’ theme, but Xbox needs to bring the original xbox style like the glowing neon green effect & that whole early 2000s aesthetic they perfected so well!

This app is always improving with new features. Bring back the game store here. Even if it’s just new releases and coming soon tabs. There is no mobile app game store anymore only the GamePass app which is only game pass games. Annoying to me who used to browse games while at work and sometimes purchase and remote download & unfair for Devs who choose not to release games on GamePass

Get this app!
Microsoft can give themselves a pat on their backs yet again for creating this app. The seemless intergration between console and mobile is insanely good! Joining parties directly from your mobile device... literally can talk through parties with your phone :) Higher speed typing instead of on screen console keyboard. Friends button - see who’s online Achievement pages (this is a big one for me) to easily track achievements and progression! And even to compare with friends! 5/5 - Xbox Live User ;)

Reasonable
It got a 2 star from me, as the app often needs to be uninstalled completely and reinstalled, because many features don’t work, or can’t connect. The app is useful when going away to allow the kids to log in and claim various daily rewards in games, a little laggy for multiplayer games, but is ok.
However, when the app has the bug that stops it connecting, the app requires to be reinstalled, and the only way to connect the app to the Xbox again is… you guessed it! Sign into the Xbox using that account. Hard to do when you are a thousand kilometres away.
As a secondary access point, it is usable, barely. It is so inconsistent and unreliable, however, it becomes frustrating to the point of throwing your dinner across the room. Microsoft, fix those bugs!!

I actually love that this app exists. No more lengthy replies from the console. Easy to see if people are online or not. Track my achievements. But my only question is why doesn’t it have all my screenshots/ recordings. It always manages to bit show them and the ones it does show are random and changes constantly. Is there a way to get all my captures from my console to actually stay on my app?

Gee it’d be good if the servers streamed the content or even loaded screenshots quickly.. but no - it’s Microsoft, so to do anything you have to nurse it through for 2 min until it has buffered everything - then you can see your clip! And try saving the clip to your phone - it constantly switches off before it finishes and forgets where it left off. This app therefore is pretty useless.

i didn’t use the Xbox app for a while (3-4 months) then I went on it to play from my device then it disconnected my Xbox from my device and when it says turn your Xbox on and log into this account I do that and it says something wrong try again a bit later and I wait a hour then I try again but it still doesn’t work please fix this for me or tell me a resolution

One problem!
I love this app I speak to my friends through it and I use it almost every day. But I’m not sure if it is we have a new update but I opened my iPad to see that the picture of the app was different, so I went to go and open it up and it just shuts at I try to open is again but it’s shut so what I’m trying to say the app isn’t opening I have IOS 12.5.5 and it says it’s support iOS 12 I don’t know what’s happening I’ve uninstalled and reinstall the app multiple times and even reset my whole IOS device it’s still not working please fix.

CAPTURES BUGGED *MUST FIX*
Hey, I know for a fact it happens to loads of people, when we capture something on Xbox and upload it to the Xbox network absolutely nothing comes up. For me the most recent captures on the Xbox app is from a week ago. This is ridiculous and you need to fix it right now. If I want to save a clip to my phone I should be able to. Xbox please adapt I would have thought you’d have this under control but apparently not. Sorry, it’s just the way it is but it really shouldn’t be the way it is.

It’s an okay app.
I understand that it’s not going to be exactly like the Xbox, because it’s a free app that goes with it, but I only really use the app to download captures I take, so I’m not going to be reviewing the entire app, as I haven’t experienced every feature.
On the Xbox you can sort the captures you take by game and other filters, but you can’t do that on the app which is frustrating. I take a lot of captures with the intent of downloading them and sharing them with my friends, but in the app they drown in captures from other games I’ve taken, and I have to scroll quite far down, and even then it doesn’t store all my captures (which I suppose is fair, reiterating the fact that this app is free and the Xbox is not). Even if I can’t access all my captures on the app, it would be nice if I could at least sort through the ones I have got. I won’t even mention to time it takes to download a 5 minute capture, as I suppose it varies per person and their phone.
All in all, at least I can download my most recent captures, and maybe that’s a good thing, as my storage would take quite the toll if I downloaded every single thing I wanted to (especially since I can access it on my console). It’s a good app.

Xbox button not working, ect
On remote play I was able to click every button on the Xbox controller just like on the Xbox one itself but recently on this update when I click the Xbox button, doesn’t do anything all I can use it for is to hold the button turn off/on the controller and I disconnect the controller and reconnect still the same problem, can this be fixed please. And when I clicked view game on my friends list or my own account to launch game the app crashed I really need this fixed please

My original review was 5 stars, and I mentioned that it was a Great achievement by Microsoft, and this app is a fantastic complement to the console and gets better with every update.....
Well this isn’t the case anymore, they have removed achievements from the app, which means that you can no longer use it as a companion app while you’re playing. Or even doing some research on certain hard-to-get achievements.
They are a core component of the Xbox experience and really need to come back to the app.

Connection Problems
I have had this app for around 2-3 months and tried to play about 5 days in that time. In those 5 days I have only been able to play twice. I try maybe 50 times in a day, coming back every now and then, trying 5 - 7 times , being told that “We cannot connect to you Xbox. Try again later”, so I leave and try again later, an hour later, only to be told the exact same thing! I have full internet connection majority of the time and my Xbox is always on before I try...This app would be great if I didn’t have these problems.

Horrible app with no club access or sharing anything to a club. No way of sending custom made videos to Xbox Live anymore i give up on Xbox they have taken away the enjoyment for players! When an app or companion app works well there’s no need to change it but Xbox always finds a way to ruin it for the players! To only be able to share clips via console only is ridiculous & a shame to say the least! Bring back the ability to make custom videos to share to Xbox Live and many players will be happy again! I hope changes are made as i don’t bother with the Xbox app as much as i used to. Sort it out Microsoft as players aren’t happy like they should be.,

It all went wrong
After the newest update for the app, it introduced a lot of changes and most of them are bad. For example before the update you could look at the different game clubs, you could see different posts form your friends and other people, it was an easy layout and system and worked just fine no need for change, but after the update IT ALL WENT WRONG, now you can’t do any of those things and worst of all ITS COMPLETELY broken. Why? Please fix, I can’t even look at my friends list or the Xbox store. Please fix it!!!

Why is this happening?
So the app used to work well for me but then suddenly when I go into the app it says I need to sign in with my Microsoft account because I’m accessing sensitive info but when I put my password in the page closes down the screen doesn’t load and then the same page comes back telling me to put in the password. Like BRUH how many times do I have to do this. After about twenty tries I give up because this has just wasted my time plsss fix this

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
The Xbox app has come a long way in the past year. Those hard crashes are, at least for me, a thing of the past. Accessing chats and seeing if mates are on are working just fine.
Even seeing what games Im able to download (thanks to the Ultimate Game Pass) works fine.
But the audio on my Capture sometimes just wont load, actually most times the audio wont come in at all. The Captures load a heck of a lot better than previous iterations of this app have.
There are little bugs here and there but none really worth mentioning.
I still recommend Xbox to mates, as the Ultimate Game Pass (UGP) is just too good of a deal to pass up, dont ever change that.
Seriously just finished Star Wars Fallen Order, and besides the data, having the UGP made it so it didnt cost me a thing extra.

Not what I thought.
I figured that the Xbox app would look like the Xbox Home Screen with a few differences but I don’t mind how it is. What I do mind is the fact that I can’t look at my achievements or see my games, I can see all the game pass games that I have and don’t have but I can’t see the games I physically own. The other thing I’m annoyed about is I can’t see the photos I took in game, I rarely take photos but when I do, I would like to see them outside of the game.
The chatting with friends part is good apparently (I don’t talk to any of my friends since one is my cousin and the other hasn’t been online for months now). And so is the remote, doesn’t work for games which is understandable, easy to use when watching Netflix or something and don’t want to use the controller.

I like how useful this app can be, I only use it for minecraft and stuff, I don’t own a actual Xbox, but there’s a problem I’ve been getting recently and what happens is when I open the app the whole page is loading and then it instantly says you have to sign in because your accessing sensitive info and I literally just opened the app, and I had to change my password and then it let me sign in and the page is still loading and about 7 seconds it says I have to sign in again because I’m accessing sensitive info and It’s getting irritating because the page isn’t loading at all either, and my wifi is pretty good where I live so I shouldn’t be having that loading problem, but in advance thank you for this app and I hope you can help me with my problem I’ve been having
Edit: I’ve fixed it by redownloading the app, it works fine now but it not sure if it will have that problem again

Being back the old version!!!
I really love the app,it’s extremely useful when u have a nosy brother just all up in your business,but after the update I try to access the chat but it won’t go in straight away,I have to keep offloading,powering off,etc...
So please,don’t make a new update unless it’s gonna fix all the problems we have right now,it won’t even let me ACCESS THE CHAR SECTION

Roll it back, or fix it please.
The newly updated Xbox app, while sporting a neat new paint job, is devoid of many of the features which made it an app worth actually using. The removal of many loved features such as achievement tracking, profile name and picture editing, the ability to view and join LFG posts and many more has left much to be desired.
Purposely omitting useful features is no way to introduce a new UI update.
On top of that, one of the most useful features, the ability to use your phone as an Xbox remote, is now hindered by an almost 5 second delay between input on the app and output on the console. This issue was non-existent before the update.
Please, guys, while UI updates are nice, as is the ability to remote play on your mobile device, please avoid releasing seemingly incomplete updates which remove much loved features and introduce worse ones. It seems as though the only thing this update achieved was actively making the user experience much worse and undermining the potential of such a useful and loved application.
TLDR: If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it...

Microsoft Fixed Something That Wasn’t Broken
After the recent update to the app, all of the features that I enjoyed are gone. You can no longer view your achievements or your progress in a game. You can no longer view or change your profile customisation. You can no longer view different groups of gamers.
The app has just been turned into a big advert for the Microsoft store and game pass, only showing you the base information of the games, not your progress in it or your own personal goals within the game. It feels and is incredibly impersonal. Where once it felt like a portfolio to show and express your enjoyment and commitment to the game, now it is an impersonal and cold middle finger to all those who actually enjoyed the app.
Microsoft please fix this please, or release an actual companion app, similar to the one on computers.
I am un-happy.

Don’t Update
The new update is really bad.
I used this app for tracking my achievements... either looking at all my games or alternatively whilst playing a specific game to see my progress...
This new app lacks the ability to do that. From my profile screen I tapped quantum break, which I’ve been playing on my Xbox... and instead of telling me the achievements ect, it tells me minimum requirements to play it on PC... not helpful
It also now seems to be all about telling me what games I can get with game pass... or what games are popular with my Xbox friends... I don’t really care about what others play, or games I can get through game pass like minecraft... if I want to play a game with friends I’ll talk to them and work out what would be good to play together... I don’t assume that because they have played red dead that it means the are keen on the multiplayer aspect.
Streaming is a cool feature to get... but not worth the removal of all the other features when my Xbox is in the next room.
It appears this ‘update’ is actually replacing the old Xbox app with the Gamepass app. Which is not great for those without gamepass...
Of course mileage may vary, and if you have gamepass and care more about the ‘social’ aspect of your Xbox then this will be fine for you. If however your like me and don’t want gamepass and care more about what you play, and tracking your game progress ect then don’t update the app.

Used to be good now it’s broken
I used to always use this app for taking screenshots and downloading them but recently I’m not sure what happened it either takes ages to upload my captures, doesn’t show me when my captures are uploaded or shows me the captures but doesn’t let me download. I am aware that I do have some internet problems at my house but currently as I am writing this I the internet is working fine and the captures are still broken. Sometimes it even shows me captures that I deleted a while ago or just shows me the videos and not the screenshots.

App’s decent, BUT
The app’s great, but recently (roughly three weeks ago), I lost the ability to be able to change my display pic for the app and Xbox system itself through the app.
I can change it to an avatar, and change the avatar, but for no reason, I’ve lost the ability to actually choose an actual picture from my Camera Roll and set it as my profile picture. This has persisted throughout the last couple of updates and bug fixes.

A major problem
I recently changed accounts and when I tried to log into my new account in Xbox live it was still on my old account even after I reloaded it!
I feel like there should be a settings button in a top corner with the option to “switch account” then you sign in to your new account and yeah.
You should really include this feature in your new update, I feel like if you do you won’t get as many problems popping up on live support.

Make the App Useful Again
So many pointless features, very little to help you use your Xbox. I’d love to see more interactive features in this app that actually complement the console a lot more.
For example, I should have better control of movies and content. It’d be awesome if I could scroll through a list of titles (or even search) on my phone app, select what to watch, then have it play on the Xbox. While it’s playing, I should have the ability to view information about what I’m watching on the app, maybe even share what I’m watching with others.
While something is playing, there needs to be contextual controls for media playback, not just the standard controller buttons. I need play, pause, rewind, skip etc.
In games I’d love to see more functionality too, let me see menus or hud features, chat console, game stats or whatever.
As the app is right now, it just doesn’t add much value.

Great companion to the console. Needs refinement
This app is very useful when managing the multitude of tasks that would normally require you to push the Xbox button on your controller and manage tasks with a pop-up overlaid sub menu.
2 things to be amended and I would give 5 stars.
First the resolution of the app doesn’t fit the entire screen for my iPad Pro so it’s not taking advantage of the full screen. Second is when setting up an LFG, the tags that you can normally choose from when setting up via xbox aren’t there. There are no suggestions, it’s completely blank. Otherwise I’m a very frequent user of this app and have it open pretty much every time I’m using my console. Thanks and keep up the great work!

My pfp is broken
The app is good and all but I changed my profile picture and it says it can't show it because it's apparently "inappropriate" when there was nothing wrong with it. It keeps saying "Sorry we can't upload the picture at the moment, try again later" and I've literally been waiting 6 months and it still keeps saying it. I've tried restarting the app and deleting it and re downloading it but it still says the same thing over and over. If you need my xbox it's Antorth and could you please help me it would mean a lot

Great app but needs a tiny fix 🤏
The xbox app is great and easy to use but it suddenly won’t let me change my profile picture to one that’s like on my camera roll, I haven’t tried the in-app pictures, I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app and logging in and out and when I try to change it, it comes up with “try again later” so I thought that if I sent a review that you guys would hopefully see this and try to fix it.. it would be great if you could :)

Uhh it’s okay?
The app itself I would say is good, gives you similar or even the same content and freedom the Xbox itself would although it does have a few bugs like mine always tends to crash when I get out of the app and try to get back in while in a party. Like just a simple tap of the home button, my iPad is band new and I barely filled up any storage so I don’t really understand the issue. But I’d probably give 4 stars if it didn’t always crash on me and oh I don’t know if I just can’t find it but when you receive a party request and don’t press it in time there’s no going back into it no nothing. But something is wrong with my app I have the most resent update, at least I think? I updated it 6 days ago, yet it’s still telling me to “update for latest version of parties” and isn’t allowing me to update but that’s all.. this app is a little all over the place

The app is pretty good
I love the Xbox app it is so essential but I have a few issues no.1 being when I’m in a party chat through the app it attends to crash and it just gets annoying having to quit the app and relaunch it and start another party chat and no.2 being that I can’t change my profile picture it just keeps on saying try again later then I will and it will say the same thing.... but other than that the app is great and highly recommended it ✌🏾

Very well done, but need improvement
I find Xbox App to be very useful especially because my headphone jack on my Xbox controller is broken. However I have found that when an internet change occurs, the Xbox App stops working and stays on a white loading screen. This may only be on my current device which is an IPhone 6. It would be nice for this to be fixed. Despite this it is really easy to use and it has everything that you would need in an Xbox App.

A small problem... Please fix!
This app is amazing and easy to find everything you want, however, I have recently come across a problem. The app logged me out one day and when I tried getting back into it, it says that there was a problem and to try again later, I tried it later and it didn’t work, I tried reinstalling it and I tried adding my account again onto it, still nothing. Please fix this because I really need it!

App not responding
The app is great when it works. I’ve been having a issue for the last week where it won’t load. If I un install it and re install it it works for five minuets or so then can’t load anything.
I find it useful to message friends when playing game as it’s quicker and easier to open and reply to messages and to see who’s online on what games before I jump on. But lately it hasn’t been working and I don’t know why. Has anyone else come across this issue?

Good app but some store problems
The app is very useful. I particularly use the Store and the Gold page. Very useful to be able to check on the Games with Gold and if they were were purchased or obtained before. One issue is that the reported autorenewal date for my gold subscription displayed as the 16th of June but renews on the 2nd. This happened before and after the renewal. Unfortunately the store pages sometimes take a very long time to load and then are almost instantaneous at others.

Annoyed
I’ve had to delete this app like 8 times now just to use it. It keeps telling me something went wrong, it will crash all of a sudden and when I get a message, the message will not load at all. After the message doesn’t load it will disable me from viewing anything and say something about my privacy’s settings will not let me. Every time I view my settings, they are fine and there isn’t anything wrong with them, especially to the point where I can’t message people or view anything. My phone is up to date and this app is good when it is working.

Microsoft Solitaire Collection IOS
Hi, I have had this game on both my laptops Windows 10 and my new iPad for 2 months, no problems. I also upgraded to premium on both devises, no problems. This week I can no longer play the game on my Ipad. When I open it up it tells me to connect to the internet which is always on. It then tells me to try on XBox which I downloaded but again it tells me I have no internet connection which I have checked and rechecked. Any advise would be appreciated.

App keeps bugging out
I have previously used this app and it was great, everything worked very well. However recently I have started to use it again and every other day the app stops allowing me to use the party feature. It keeps telling me that it has to do with my privacy settings but I have checked them multiple times and there is no reason why the app should be working one day but not working the next. I have to keep deleting and redone loading the app to get it to work... is very frustrating. Until this is fixed, the review will stay at 2 stars.

A disappointed customer
I really enjoyed using the app for messaging and checking achievements but since up to about a month ago the app is not usable at all. I ran into a problem with not being able to use nearly any features such as messaging ect. I looked on forums to try and fix it which only worked once and hasn’t worked since. I logged out of the app and can no longer log back into the app at all. Even have deleted the app multiple times to see if that fixed the problem but still doesn’t. All my the features work on other devices but this since the last month. Very disappointed

Most unreliable app i’ve had to deal with
This app has terrible reliability when connecting to the xbox and has so many issues that haven’t been fixed its not funny. Streaming videos fails half the time, tv guide information doesn’t show up. Even the tv and AV control doesnt work if the Xbox is in the TV App.
Lastly, there is still no option to turn on the xbox only without turning on my AV and TV. Why is there not already an option to turn on the xbox only without turning on the TV? This is pointless if i have to turn the TV off after i remotely turn it on. This is typical Microsoft having the functionality but being too lazy/ to implement it in a meaningful way

It’s awesome
I would like to be able to see my party, like whose in it, I’d like to be able to kick from the app as well I think that would be a nice feature to add, and also I’d like to be able to view the messages that get sent to the party but other then that I love being able to accept and decline people who are interested in my looking for post, messaging friends, and seeing my feed. It’s made it a lot easier to access my friends and messages while still playing

It helps me get messages through faster, I can see my friends on it I can see what my friends post, my issue with this is on the console, this is the only way i could get a message to Xbox, on the console, I changed my name, I did not work and I lost the money, I bought rocket league, it was not downloading, I go back to the rocket ledge page, it says I have not bought it, I think you should just make it you pay on the console not get sent to pc for it to be accepted by Microsoft, change that on the actual Xbox

Possibly the best console app EVER
It's much easier for texting your friends that have an Xbox instead of going on the Xbox just go open up the app sign in then text them. Also you can see pretty much every thing you can see on the home screen. The app also lets you get a Custom pic for your profile. It's pretty good but I which you could do that with your background a custom background instead of downloading media player and getting pictures of your computer putting them in a USB then sticking that in the Xbox.
