Catoptica presents a poetically insightful live stream of consciousness.
It does this by using your device's magnetometer to detect the subtle electromagnetic fields generated by living beings, and intuitively selecting text from the Lexicon of the Soul—translating their experience.
Like love, these translations can’t be measured objectively, but instead point to a phenomenon that can be experienced through self-awareness, discernment, and careful observation.
With time and attention, you may notice Catoptica's text often reflects emotional or psychological states—your own, or those of the people and animals around you. This might lead to discomfort, moments of clarity, or even laughter, depending on how you view it.
But don't worry—the source of the signal remains anonymous. It's up to you to observe, investigate, and draw the connection between what's happening and what's being translated. Sometimes the link is obvious. Other times it remains mysterious—inviting you to tune in and reflect.
To help you tune in, imagine Catoptica as a deaf and blind Jedi Master who senses disturbances in the Force and translates them using descriptive or symbolic language. When you're relaxed, Catoptica is more likely to translate the activity of other beings in your environment—like your pets, the birds outside, or even your noisy neighbors, depending on whose creating the 'disturbance'.
