seriously overhaul this app

As a professional airline crew member, I’m genuinely shocked that this app is still in circulation. The ROIs Crew App is unreliable, outdated, and constantly crashes.
The interface feels like something out of 2005, clunky, laggy, and borderline unusable on an iPad or iPhone — which, mind you, is the only device many crew are issued by the company.
This app directly affects our ability to do our jobs safely and effectively. We rely on technology to access timely and accurate data — not waste time dealing with bugs and workarounds. It’s beyond frustrating; it’s unacceptable.
Developers and the airline needs to seriously overhaul this app — or better yet, scrap it and start again with something that actually works.

App accepts duty changes without human interaction, no offline functionality, no ability to print entire roster, inclusive of hours, rest periods, hotel detail. Not well thought out for a complex industry.

Gut wrenching

If I could give zero stars, I would. This crew rostering app is a masterclass in how not to design aviation software. Constant crashes, overloaded servers if more than a handful of people log in, and a user interface that feels like it was cobbled together in a high school project – in 2003. It’s as if this thing was built in the forgotten corner of some budget tech park with no regard for actual airline operational needs.
The fact that any airline uses this tells you more about their standards than the app’s quality. Unsurprisingly, it’s only seen in ultra low-cost carriers where the bar couldn’t get any lower. If you're in the aviation industry and value efficiency, reliability, or even basic functionality – avoid this app like a holding pattern in a thunderstorm.

Shocking! My iCal works more efficiently and it doesn’t know what I’m doing at work. Seriously though did anyone ask flight and cabin crew what’s needed and wanted?
- Roster report…….nope
- Printable roster report……nope
- Exportable roster to iCal…nope
- Daily crew brief……..nope
- Sign on time for work……nope
- Full duty time…….nope
Should I keep going………nope.
Please go ask the people who use these things daily what’s needed and what is just a fancy distraction. Fix the basics and I’m sure it will be fine.

Threat to Sanity.

ROIs Crew is the kind of software that makes you question reality.
Clearly the cheapest made-in-china option management could scavenge, and designed with the elegance and functionality of a brick through a window.
It even loses memory in flight mode, lol.
The interface is so bad it goes full circle to actually become funny… that is until someone sleeps in, signs on late, gets confused, gets the wrong information or loses the will to live.
We can’t believe this is even legal, but then again, if CASA doesn’t care about the airlines then why should we. Nobody at work has a single good thing to say about this app. Literally, not one person.
We are universally united in our loathing for it, which is a beautiful thing that should be celebrated, perhaps on a foldout bed on a min-rest Rocky overnight.

Just awful

Terrible user interface. Constantly logs you out. The font is awful. Very easy to confuse flight time as sign on time. GPS slow and have to close and reopen app to make sure it works. Unable to print roster, share it or even read it easily. Whoever designed it clearly never had to use anything like it.

Simply a mess.

Such a poor attempt of a crewing app obviously not designed by or for crews day to day needs.
Hard to read with bad choices of font colors over background.
Poor use of real estate with tiny text.
No print function, my life is now a mystery to my family which means the family have to ring me each time they try to plan around the roster.
No offline option. ( there is no internet when flying)
No total duty time for the day. Can’t believe the outgoing system was so much more efficient from a crew’s prospective.
I can start my robot vacuum cleaner is it app without putting on glasses but don’t ask me what time I start work or where I’m going.

Rubbish

Coming from a rostering application rated 1 star, I didn’t think it could get worse. I was wrong, this is so much worse. Presumably this is aimed at companies who want a rostering solution for the cheapest price point possible. It’s barely usable and nothing about it is user-friendly. Opening this app in 2025, is like travelling back in time 15 years and trialling some poor kids failed attempt at programming an app for the first time. It would be a struggle to award them a participation award at this point for this effort.

Overblown Calendar

Very poor crew app. It’s a glorified calendar. Created for airlines who like to do the bare minimum and on the cheap.
1) Automatically accepts duty changes
2) checkin function window too small
3) constantly logs out
4) No offline function
5) No in app messaging for rostered crew to communicate about duty
6) Shows entire roster period throughout period instead of scrolling on open to next duty
7) inability to integrate with Apple or Google calendar or generate an .ICS file
8) styling is grey on grey so hard to decipher
9) highlights departure time but not the duty sign on (too small font size and should have a colour differentiation between duty and flight.
10)Provide times in UTC and local
11) Highlight turnaround time between sectors
12) no crew logbook functionality
13) duty swap functionality non existent.
