Reinventing a worse wheel
Why SanDisk would spend time reinventing a file management system, and delivering a worse product, is impossible to say.
The native iOS system is more than adequate, and could have even been improved by SanDisk, but they chose not to take that path.
The SanDisk approach is far from user friendly, and fails in basic functionality one would anticipate such as to view different collections of photos in the iPhone photos App, eg screen shots.
So SanDisk, please do some more work to develop this App so it is actually useful, and our investment in your product isn’t a total waste of money.

Really lousy compared to the old one!
Bring us back the old application. I can't make backups as usual, I put the usb key in my phone for 4 hours for 30% backup, 60% less battery and the backup is cancelled... as a result my photos and videos are not backed up. What's more, I realize that if it's backed up, it's no longer sorted the way it used to be (by year and by month). It's really unfair to pay so much for a USB flash drive for the application not to work properly. DO SOMETHING

Frustrated
The iXpand flash drive luxe cost over $100, the drive cannot be detected or selected in the apple IOS files app or gallery. It simply does not appear as an option to use as a storage location. The memory zone app is basic and restrictive. I cannot believe that these are being sold with such average usability.

Love My Cute SanDisk
I got my SanDisk device for storing my music class videos. It’s so handy and easy to operate. I can’t imagine how much space will be taken by videos from my iPhone if without it, thanks for SanDisk Memory Zone.

Sandisk Ultra Dual Drive Go usb Type C 64GB
App doesn’t acknowledge the drive connected to my iPhone 15 Pro . Drive package states PC/Mac IPhone/IPAD. So I have a drive that doesn’t even work. My previous older IPhone drive and Xpand drive app works well. I feel totally ripped off, last SanDisk product I will buy.

New Version is Worse
Moved over to this app because the previous one said I had to to continue using the drive. I’ve just gone to do my first transfer and it took ages to load the photos, had them in the wrong order (then I was able to change to “date created”), and doesn’t delete them from the phone when copied, which the previous version did and so was very helpful when clearing space! Very disappointed after an awesome experience with the last app that made life so easy to clear, store, and sort. :(

Dont change ONLY works for 15 Pro and Up!!
According to the help videos in the app the browsing the native iOS files app only works for 15 and up and if you are like me and have a device below that you just lost your USB stick!!!

I hate this new app. The old one was much more intuitive and allowed me to copy photos from my phone to the usb a lot more seamlessly. The “explore” and “store” features are useless as I did not purchase this usb to look thru the Sandisk store. What a joke.

Need massive improvement
I’m echoing some of the previous reviews. I’ve used iXpand drive and found it clunky, but it worked for me. Can’t get this Memory Zone app to work. Why can’t I see my photos in order of when they were created? The feature is there, yet they’re all over the place. AMD I want to select them and save them to a folder I’ve created - also not possible? Really disappointed! This app is useless in its current state.

Unable to copy file to iPad
App is worse than old app. I am unable to copy pdf files from usb drive to iPad. It always gives me error of unsupported format. Why it needs to check file format to copy or move file? Previous app was seamless.

Downgrade to the original
The new version loads faster then the previous version, however it seems you can no longer copy files to/from a SanDisk drive unless it’s a photo or video. The files app integration is now gone. Seems like yet another company that makes great hardware, let down by poor software

ixpand replacement needs improvement
very basic replacement for the much more superior ixpand backup for their usbs. The ixpand is losing support come April and was recommended to download this as a replacement. While it connects and recognizes my device is only offers full backup of device, maybe if an option to select only certain vids or pics as opposed to a full backup is implemented in a future update it will only be inferior to the ixpand app. If they add the selection of individual items i will rate higher

A step backwards
This app is much less user friendly than SanDisk's previous iXpand version that I have used for some years now. The backup function shuts down before completion and navigating around the app is a lot more complex. Not at all happy!

I don’t know if it’s me or what. This new app doesn’t automatically file my photos anymore. It’s just a pile of photos now. How am I supposed to separate them.

Performance and reliability is better but copy feature still lags
Program loads and runs much faster than its predecessor. However its copy feature shows no improvement.
It still does not allow the copying the structure of multiple selected source folders to the destination drive. When selecting and copying multiple source folders to the destination drive in a single copy action, it is reasonable to expect both the source and destination to look the same after the copy; the structural layout of folders and their files having been retained. This still does not happen with this app which still copies the contents of all the selected source folders and places them into a single destination folder. It would be more useful if the copy process handled folders and their files so that the source structure was preserved on the destination drive.

Disappointed and frustrated
Although this app boots up faster and every time in comparison to IXpand, the functions are very limited. Seems Memory Zone is only for backing up, and even then I cannot save individual photos to drive. I cannot attach files from drive. It keeps disconnecting when you open another app eg email or messages. Doesn’t stay open in background. Very confused why I would be directed by app dev’s to jump across to new app if it doesn’t do 80% of functions. If only developers kept all the functions of IXpand with improved connectivity.

Cannot connect to files app
I have the latest ios on an ipad mini and I cannot access the native files app via memory zone. I don't want this device for a backup, I want it for storing individual files I choose. I have four sandisk datasticks and if this new app is the only option they were a waste of a few hundred dollars.

Needs improvement
Coming from the iXpand app I expected something similar but that’s not the case. I’d like to view my photos in order of date but that is not even an option and they are all mixed together. I’m worried for when iXpand is no longer supported. This app definitely needs improvement before the other app is shut down.

DISAPPOINTMENT
Apparently I have to use this slow, unorganized app instead of the iXpand Drive. Everything is all over the place, and it’s not even an inch better than iXpand Drive. THIS WAS A DOWNGRADE.
On iXpand Drive, I can segrerate the Photos and videos, but here, I can’t. DISAPPOINTMENT.

Improvement but need landscape option and better copy paste
Massive improvement from the old app (the old app would take forever to load), this one is much faster.
Would love to be able to view photos and video in landscape. Would also love to see more text for folders.
Also it's annoying when coping a whole folder from my phone photos it pastes the photos only. So I have to make a whole new folder on the usb drive, so the photos don't end up loose in the parent folder.

Frustrated!
I jumped into the old iXpand Drive app to be told that I needed to upgrade to this new SanDisk Memory Zone. It has none of the functionality the iXpand Drive app had. I can’t locate the app in my options list when selecting photos from inside my Gallery or my Files app. Something that I never had an issue with before. Inside the new Memory Zone app itself, it takes ages for images to appear which has slowed me down considerably and there’s no way to access my files? The necessity to replace a great and easy to use app with one that does less is beyond me. Bring back iXpand Drive!

Total disappointment
I bought a Sandisk USB to be able to save photos and videos and the previous version Sandisk expand worked great but that was no longer supported and it stopped working.
This new app is useless as you can’t browse photos in the order on your phone. The layout is difficult to see so you can’t select what you want to save, which you could in the previous app. The drive also disconnects when you’re trying to save. I can no longer use the Sandisk USB to save photos from my iPhone so I guess I won’t be buying anymore Sandisk USB.

Very frustrating
I’ve used the older SanDisk app for almost 5 years now and I am a very big fan. With the development of a new app, I was ready to move onto a bigger and better version of my favourite memory storage solution.
The advertising and new UI is a thin, deceitful veneer.
This new app is nothing if clunky and unusable.
Transfers don’t last long before presenting an error message, videos don’t upload whatsoever and the automatic chronological organization(folders created by the month and the year) of the last app has been replaced by a sludge of a singular folder.
This is incredibly frustrating as I have depended on this app to take care of my cherished memories just for the original app to face a premature demolition.
Very, very upset and I hope this is fixed before the deletion of the previous app.

Flash not recognised
iPhone 16 Pro ISO 18.2 with Ultra Dual Drive Luxe flash drive. The iPhone recognises the flash drive BUT the SMZ app doesn’t recognise the flash drive. I have tried sending a support email to Sandisk but it wants things like firmware version which I can’t find and therefore it won’t send (shows error). Purchase site (Amazon) clearly states that SMZ will work with this drive.

Totally Useless
I can no longer manually copy files to the iXpand drive with this new app. This makes it completely useless for me as I was using it to copy selected files from my phone to the drive.

Ixpand Functionality Much Better
The functionality of Ixpand app was far superior to this poorly designed app. The most basic of requirements unable to be catered for eg. view photo gallery as viewable in the device by date order (date modified option only is plain odd). Device rarely recognises the drive without difficulty. Please please please provide update to view photo gallery in basic date order and copy simply just like Ixpand offered.

Cannot see private backups
Can’t see the Ixpand private gallery content that’s locked with Face ID, shows them as a different file format that cannot be opened. Super annoying Ixpand app was way better

Looks cleaner but is a downgrade
The UI may look neater and cleaner but the actual features are far less. I can’t simply browse all my photos as a gallery to choose what to transfer over. It doesn’t even show all albums if you sort that way. I can see ones I’ve created on my phone but the ones made by iOS like just the videos folder doesn’t exist which seems absolutely POINTLESS. A cleaner looking UI with less features is what this feels like, and it’s not good. Much prefer the older ixpand app to this new one.

Keeps disconnecting when backing up
Much neater Ui and streamlined process than the previous app which accompanied my iXpandGo but on my every attempt to back up my photos (I’ve got about 15Gb of them) it seems to disconnect after running around 15 minutes, even with my phone still active, unlocked and me not flipping over to other apps such as replying messages.
