App looks good after that it goes downhill quickly

Had solar, battery and EV charger installed. Force charge is messy if my battery gets to charge limit it blocks all solar and uses mains power. Customer support doesn’t respond so can’t find away around. EV charger unless on PV linkage will draw down the battery no way to stop it, put it on PV linkage then I’m limited to 5-10a charge which is painfully slow. Ultimately looks good but functions don’t work as they should.

May2026 version, Terrible!

Previous version served me well as end user. This version is confusing with the Self Consumption/sufficiency %, and difficult to workout past/current information. Combining PV and batteries (production and consumption) data are not useful information. Self use efficiency % are not useful. Combining all data in one graph is unbelievably bad.

App developers should seek users opinion before rolling out new app version.

A battery gauge in the home screen showing remaining kWh and % would be much more useful than Self Consumption/sufficiency %.

Please get rid of the two sufficiency % pies. It’s useless to users. Bring back our unmanipulated data in its individual categories, graphs and make text/fonts slightly larger. Don’t combine our data into something we cannot track and verify.

Some improvements

For forced discharge the app doesn’t allow user to set any power limits. Two limits( power limit in addition to SOC) are required which can benefit most of us. 1) Limit export to grid when forced discharge. 2) self use limit when forced discharge.

Needs more user ability to change mode scheduler

Ok, good for basic mode scheduling, but has restrictions in that if in mode scheduling the min SOC will not go below

10 even if you set it lower. Could have a few more options like export limit in KW for a schedule to then revert to own use.

When setting up a schedule it shows it doesn’t save, delete it and it doesn’t show, but when you try to write another schedule is impossible because it still keeps the old, deleted schedule and will not allow an overwrite

Force discharge function needs update

I have try to raise this via customer support, however haven’t received response in 2 months. Force discharge cut off feature will stop exporting to grid however it also stops discharging for self use which is a big flow in algorithm. There should be two flags 1) when you want to stop exporting to grid say at 20% 2) when you want to stop discharging from self use say 10%. So battery can be used overnight when SOC is between 20 and 10 instead of importing from grid.

Battery shows offline

Widget functionality is limited but good but, the login isn’t persistent so often goes blank. But in setting System Min and Max SOC, always says write failed.

Vpp controlled

When my app was updated the Work mode has been switched to VPP controlled even when I am no longer in VPP. My previous electricity provider has already off-boarded my foxess inverter.

Now Foxess hasn’t replied yet since 1momth+ ago to help with this issue.

New update blocks mode scheduler

The new version from last weekend blocks access to the mode scheduler saying that my device was controlled by a VPP, but the fact is my device has been off boarded by that vpp at least 2 months ago. This update is a living example of developers not testing thoroughly before releasing their code. App works perfectly before this update. Very disappointed!

AC coupling info

The app is acceptable.

As most of us here have an AC coupled system (where the solar inverter is separate to the battery inverter), my solar generation is now shown as “gen load” rather than the app’s “PV”. Is there a way that you allow options for the user to change the “PV” and replace with my solar generation information? This would then allow me to get meaningful analysis from the app. Currently, my “PV” generation in the app is showing up as 0 (because it is not DC coupled with the battery inverter)

Schedule issues

Schedules randomly appear and activate the schedule and cause conflicts as times overlap yet a user can’t make this schedule as set due to an overlap in time. Should be a way to disable and clear all schedules but they reappear randomly. Such an expensive investment and I never knew the software had issues when this brand was recommended to me. Over 1 month in and it cannot charge from grid and now won’t do a discharge schedule and Foxess cannot after several firmware updates fix it. Schedule says failed to get device timer mode settings often now.

I am a new user to the app and I do like it, it’s quite self explanatory so far. My only grumble is the graphs, I have come from using solar edge, where the graphs are super clear. On this app we have so much information jammed onto one graph, when 3 or 4 would be easier to scroll through to understand the trends. I can only figure it out on my iPad.

Constant issues with data

I have had several issues with the Total revenue, this happens after app updates. The first time the issue was resolved fast via the support and a remote update was carried out on the inverter. I have since sent 2 further support request without any help. I have even replied to the original support email with no reply. This has to change if you want to gain market share in Australia
