The ALDI Mobile app is the smarter way to manage your prepaid account on the go!
The following features are available:
o Check your account balance, view your credit expiry date and see how much data you have remaining.
o Recharge instantly with a recharge card voucher purchased from ALDI, or with your nominated credit card.
o View and update your personal information such as home address or email. Update your credit card information or choose to auto recharge.
You will need your mobile number and account password to access your information. This information is the same as used for your My ALDI Mobile login on our website aldimobile.com.au
The ALDI Mobile app is free but you may be charged for data usage to download from the App Store. Standard data charges will apply when using the app from your ALDImobile service.

Poor App worse customer service

The app never works when you need it. Customer service/support is non existent, reception is just as bad as Optus and vodaphone in the upper mt Gravatt, 8miles plains area of Brisbane.

Update

Putrid service

Aldi uses a very limited percentage of the Telstra service towers, too many black spots and slow performance. I changed back to Telstra and Aldi cancelled my plan before I had received my new sim leaving me stuck without internet and phone for 5 days! Offshore call center would not help.

Not happy

It would seem that Aldi, now has an updated version of their app.
My phone will not accept this new app, as it is apparently to old ?
I’ve been a loyal customer to Aldi mobile for at least 8 years .. .. and now I’m nothing to them - what an absolute disgrace. I have lost my accumulated credit, I am unable to recharge - so I now either change to another carrier or buy a new phone.

FORCED app updates.

So. I’ve been with Aldi mobile for at least 7/8 yrs now. I have two accounts, personal and work number. I rarely have big drop outs and generally am pretty happy with the service. My biggest gripes are IF you have to contact them, overseas call centres are annoying to get through to and with. And I’ve always had a problem with how the recharge works and how it sometimes will drop you out of service for an hour or two if you auto recharge. So. I manually recharge just after midnight every month, but forgot to last night. Woke this morning and i couldn’t log into the app to recharge cos it forced an app update. But. I hadn’t recharged. So. I couldn’t access AppStore to update the app. A bit dumb don’t you think?? Do NOT force updates on something you need to actually be accessible to use the App Store!! Luckily I had their number to call and waited only ten minutes to have someone manually recharge. Yet. They didn’t apologise. Wouldn't take my feedback to pass on. And said that it may take an hour to reset.
Luckily it did come back up immediately and I’ve downloaded the ugly looking new app. But geez Aldi. I don’t think you understand not everyone has another connection. I have zero other connection to update or recharge. We’ve just gone backwards a few years to when you wouldn’t let a user view the app if you were out of charge or data. Rethink the simple things before FORCING UPDATES. Otherwise. You’re usually pretty good for set and forget service with pretty reliable connections that I’ve recommended so many family and friends to.

Prices keep going up, and up, and up

If you’re gonna have $23 as your cheapest mobile plan option, you can say goodbye to a good chunk of your business. It wasn’t long ago that the cheapest plan was about $15, then you got rid of that, then you got rid of the $19 plan. What’s the end goal here, Aldi? Are you gonna work your way up to a $100 plan minimum? When are you gonna be happy?

Amazing value and I have very few issues with signal. Can't imagine ever using all the data so really everything I need including international calls and texts for $40/month.
(Second phone with Amaysim not bad at all but not as good either for service or value in my opinion. Also I prefer the ALDImobile app.)

It seems the unexpected message to update has coincided with the app and website crashing. My login details are not recognised on either. After taking ages to process on the website it said no service on this account. Scary. Now the website login page has a 500 error.

Awful app, data too expensive

Today, my data had expired so I expected the app to complete the auto recharge function as normal. When it didn’t, I opened the app, believing it was just a glitch. No, it wasn’t a glitch, instead they removed the nineteen dollar option and left me having to spend $23 dollars on data I won’t even use. This is a disgrace to humanity. Fix this issue immediately or you will be losing my business.

Overall Aldi mobile is great value for money and generally great reception however the new app update the date of when your monthly subscription expires is now so small it’s difficult to read. This needs to be addressed and increase size asap. It’s frustrating how small the font size is compared to the rest of the information. Feels underhanded in displaying so small. Thanks

This new version has a lot of problems. When I recharge the app crashes. I got an sms notification that the recharge worked but now that number didn’t show in my account, it disappeared. After a while it did return. Very disappointing when they restyle an app for no good reason and then trash the usability and reliability of it! Hopefully this will get fixed.

first of all, the app is honestly the worst designed thing i’ve ever come across in my life. i tried to reset my password today, just to be told to make a call to the call center to reset it. i did, and indian man answered all well and good. until he refused to believe that my name RUBY is spelt with a B and not a V. i don’t know if he just hates his job or what, but ill be cancelling my plan with aldi as quick as i can!

Fine app, service stuck in the past

The Sldi App was great for a few years then after a particular upgrade it stopped working. Have deleted and reloaded a number of times since with no success. Am also unhappy that the only easy payment method is by credit card. My card has been hacked so many times that I set up a separate account with a credit card, which I only use to pay this bill. The bank is about to cancel this account nationwide so I will lose the credit card, but am told that it is the only sumner method that Aldi will accept. I cannot pay a monthly $25 bill by direct debit. Totally ridiculous.

Auto recharge fails

I have Mobile service and lost data rollover at extremely problematic moments. The Adli system turns off the auto recharge for no reason, completely in communicated to the customer, when plan changes roll out or after an update. The is extremely poor behaviour. I’m not the only person impacted and it needs to stop.

Theres only total available data in the app dashboard. Need to also include data balance so we can keep track of how much is remaining before next recharge. I’m using aldimobile on iphone. Please add this feature for customer ease of use.

Worst mobile service I’ve ever had to deal with!

Don’t get the family plan. It took me over 3 days to set it up and endless calls back to them. Customer service were always subpar and unhelpful. No matter how distressed I sounds or plead they just don’t understand.
I really regret changing to this company. Now to leave this family plan I have to individually take everyone off the plan that will take days too! The worst way so you almost can’t leave. I’m so traumatised by this that I would never join a family plan again especially from ALDImobile.

Login to Aldimobile app only works half the time

Half the time when I try to login either on the app or their website it just doesn’t work. Sometimes there’s an error message about the server, sometimes it just freezes on ‘loading account’ but never logs in. It’s so annoying and it’s been happening more and more often over the last year.

A cheap scam

My family has been with them on 4 devices for about 3 years now. Not the best but value is good until today. I have been getting the $45 plan and saved up 120gbs of rollover data which they took away from me for switching to the $35 plan making excuses about the terms and conditions. I am leaving this on all devices. All they care about is the money they bring in not about the people

Pretty good

I’ve been with Aldi Mobile for probably 3-4 years now and have had no issues except remembering when to recharge it. The app is great, a little outdated but works well in my opinion. I wish you could use iPhone widgets with it and constantly see what plan you’re on/how many days you have left but otherwise it’s been much better than a Telstra contract. I recommend.

Rubbish

Bought a $25 prepaid sim plan for 20 G. But changed my mind to $45 for 65 G plan after. Unfortunately,
It not allowed you to change the plan even you want to pay more. You have to use it up first then to recharge other plan you want. No flexibility at all. No exchangeable for higher grade-which is stupid. No refundable at all.
There’s no fine print to tell you no refund/ exchange on the sim package and when you buying also no one verbally tell you no refundable.
And when you seek help through ALDImobile the staff on the phone also not helpful, you make complaints they don’t care at all.
I used up the data in 20 days and change provider straight away. Never going back. Terrible experience.

The new app stinks! Bring back the old app please Aldi

Clicked on the Aldi app this morning to check my data usage to discover a new app altogether. Shock horror, 😱the new app is not display my rollover data. Last time I looked I had over 20gig, now I have no idea. So then I checked my wife’s, one day ago she had over 80gig, now you guessed it. Disappeared 👻 nothing gone. I guess she still has 80gig you just don’t see it on the new app, so Aldi how do we keep track of our rollover data now??? Loved the old app so easy to use. I say bring back the old app, spend your money on something else.

Really easy to use just needs a widget

Really simple UI and easy to navigate.
Two things would make it better:
1. A widget so you can check the expiry date and how much data your services have on the fly.
2. If you try and turn off password required for purchase it should prompt for that password otherwise it’s pointless having it really it’s not secure.
Otherwise great work loving this set up.

Security flaw

The developers should be made aware that this app contains a security flaw. A user can disable the ‘require password’ feature without having to enter the account’s password! This means that someone who gets hold of a phone with preset credentials can start purchasing recharges and plans without the owner’s authority. This is a fundamental security design flaw and needs to be looked at ASAP.

Easy switch from Telstra

Moved my family over from an outdated Telstra family plan. Did it one number at a time to make sure there were no issues. There weren’t. Numbers retained and all went smoothly. Love the rollover data you get with Aldi and the app works really well for us. I had to stay with Telstra myself as I need cover in really remote areas but wish I could change over. So much better value.

Family Plan info

I have a family plan that has three kids added to it. I used to be able see the monthly data remaining for me but now that gone!!! This is a bad decison. I would REALLY like to be able to see the monthly data remaining for ALL plan members. It’s cumbersome and annoying to have to log into the website to do that when trying to manage 3 kids on the account.
I ask that you consider fixing this feature in the app.

Data usage not updating

Great in every other way but now the data usage is not accurate so I don’t know what data I actually have left.
Each moth it adds the new data to the rollover data, giving me inaccurate account.
There is no way to contact or notify ALDImobile about this so hence this review.
Hoping an App upgrade might fix please?

Don’t complain

Read all the reviews on the app and what I found out that you are rubbish this good app. Been a customer for around 10 years I think but those problems are just minor. Yes I had but I could not login in and I actually went to the Aldi shop and bought a pr paid voucher and than login in when my date was not working. I don’t use this app that much much but it does do the job that I want to do. Try Telstra and other and found out they do the same thing for double the money which if you don’t have the financial look for a better provider which I would not. Only one think that this doesn’t work in some areas and I won’t name them. Still happy with Aldi. The auto renew is good but it won’t let you renew after it expires. You have to start all again which is a bit of pain in their behalf. Should be able to renew until you don’t want it anymore? Very happy with this. I have change provider but I come back to this because it fits my budget. ****

App loading

It takes forever for the app to load into your account, I had to restart my phone even then it still didn’t work, it would say after 3 minutes “an unexpected error”,, as much I as love using ALDImobile I hate the app, even trying to login on their website it would glitch out and not login! Wants a little change

ALDImobile is the best and cheapest plans I have ever seen. I’m happy with the prepaid recharging system. One thing I want to change is to add Pakistan in the unlimited calls and texts because most of our relatives and friends use ALDImobile and they also wish the Pakistan to be included in the unlimited package. We will be grateful and recommend it to everyone if you add it to the unlimited countries.
Overall it’s the best mobile service. Love it.

Unable to update debit card details

I am without data for the past 4 days already because I am unable to update my credit card details, there’s an error message that says “Could not update card details, try again later”.
I already tried the app, the website, tried to contact customer service for them to do it, however no is able to assist me !! I am extremely upset with Aldi Mobile !! And no one can solve my issue, and I’ve got no more data to call anymore !!

Downgrade

They said they “re-branded” aldi mobile, but the app is a downgrade from what it used to be. It was clean and strait forward with some creative ways to display information but overall helpful and understandable. Now the app is terribly proportioned. Some text is bigger, some is smaller, the background is more distracting and overall it is just trying to hard. It doesn’t tell you how much data you have left in the month (which is one of the main reasons to get the app in the first place.) unfortunately they have gone backward with this one.

Hate the update

The old interface was just fine. This new one exchanges shows bigger text etc but I miss the little graphic that showed data vs days remaining. I’ve had phones with optus and with Telstra and both use a similar graphic. Yes it tells yo u how much data and how many days remain but the visual representation was much much easier to track the usage. Have no idea why it was changed. Takes longer to log in too.

not a 4 star app anymore.

used to be a great UI.
all of sudden a brand new UI with ugly and messy presentation.
Much laggier than it used to. The process of app connection had gone so much slower and it is buggy. i.e. cant even view invoices. and has failed login attempts, or even it refused to load my account balance and i had to reopen the app.
it is a shame to see this is happening while i did have a great experience with then previous UI and its good additions this one just wont even meet the lowest satisfaction.
Also worth to mention, all of a sudden my 60+ GB accumulated rollover data are all gone and I will chase it up.
I dont know why the dev team cant pull it together and just stick to what is working and focus on building better app experience on that.
And finally, this app need to follow single signon framework where users can stay logged it when they get redirected to the aldimobile website. There is no reason why a logged in user need to reenter their creds again.
Thats all. who knows what next!

Dislike the Rebrand

I have been with ALDImobile pretty much since it was first created, and have been through the many prototypes and updates to the app, but this latest rebrand is ugly, hard to read and understand, and overall looks cheap and gimmicky. I much preferred the previous design of the app, and making the redesign worse, in the latest update you can’t even view data rollover in the app! This is ridiculous and needs to be resolved

Perhaps it’s just the aggrieved who are more likely to review the app which give it a bad score. Worked flawlessly for me. All data and payment details unaffected. The style of the app is pretty naff but as long as it works… Makes it more exciting to update if you are worried… Like updating iTunes…

New Design is Awful

I really enjoyed the UI of the previous app and never had any issues with it but this new design feels like a step into the past. The fonts in particular feel outdated and cumbersome overall. Functionality is fine however I used to love being able to easily view my rollover data, which was one of the reasons I have been a loyal ALDImobile customer for a few years now.

Good navigation, no usage tracker

This is my second month with Aldi. Coverage is ok, I’ll get random drop outs intermittently, but overall it’s pretty good. The pack prices are phenomenal for the data you get, but my one gripe is that the app has no usage tracker for data. I topped up with an extra GB twice on my ‘L’ plan, haven’t been watching videos or any other huge data guzzling sites to my knowledge, but I’ve run through it within a day! Without the data tracker, I can’t see how it was used so quickly to prevent it from happening again. Hopefully this will be feature added in future updates.

Great UI but a few suggestions

The UI on this app is very clean and intuitive so well done on that. However, is there a possibility to make a widget that shows how much data and days you have left and/or make another thing in the app that can divide your data into 30 and show how much you should use per day and also how much you’ve over or under used

**HOT TIP** some users don’t read the FAQ’s but if you run out of credit and don’t have wifi to recharge on the internet, you can text Aldi for free to recharge automatically. Once you’ve added some PAYG credit $15 or $30 you can then use that to add a data pack easily and don’t have to wait to get home on wifi.

Good that you updated the expiry date on the dashboard, I like it. Previously I had to set a reminder in my calendar coz I don’t want my data rollover to be lost.

Still Broken Still needs work

There are several ongoing problems with this app that make it not fit for purpose. The first is that you cannot recharge over 4g/3g and need WiFi. Coupled with the lack of notifications about upcoming expiry and you have a real problem if you don’t want ALDI to automatically debit a predefined amount. I have been stuck out and about with no WiFi and no phone credit a few times now and it’s sooooo aggravating.
The second problem is that whenever there’s an update the app refuses to make purchases telling you that you don’t have enough credit. You have to logout of the app and then login again to fix this bug.

Can’t recharge-so annoying!

Last update is worse than ever - you need to fix this urgently! Only shows Base plan & cannot purchase Value Pack to recharge- keeps saying not enough $ in base plan add credit card. It’s already on file in the dashboard & now no options to do anything else other than close the message....and can’t do anything further. I now need to login via web page to recharge - app then doesn’t show Value Pack added - the app is now really bad 😞

Unable to recharge

App is totally useless. Unable to recharge using app. I had to recharge through the web page. Also it would be helpful if the App or web page worked when you haven’t got credit. Other companies do it and it allows you to recharge when you run out of days. Which easily happens because unlike other companies aldi only lets you know you have run out and doesn’t give you a warning the day before.

Very disappointed

This app is really disappointing. It struggles to load and logging in is temperamental.
I can’t see where to add another phone to my account and my husband’s phone has just dropped off the dashboard. This is enormously frustrating. The auto recharge function isn’t stable leaving me constantly having to mess around when my three kids need to roll over their accounts each month. The actual phone service is good and the value for money is good but this app is unreliable and unintuitive. I would struggle to recommend ALDImobile to anyone until the app is fixed - I wish o could give it zero stars. Very damaging to the brand.

New style UI does not work for all

Why was I able to update to this version with the new UI when it appears to be incompatible with my phone? When I open the app it is non responsive. This update may be great for those who have new phones and want to update to the latest version of iOS. But I get the feeling many people now have a useless app. I was hoping this would soon be resolved but it is not the case. How hard can it possibly be? Aldi mobile is the only app that does mot function as intended on my phone.

Stop changing everything!

I’ve been with Aldi for a few years. Never had a problem. Recently, they keep changing the app so you can’t recharge and they keep logging you out and making you you change your password which believe me is more difficult than you could imagine. It’s happening to my sister and husband too. Considering changing provider because if this. Recharging shouldn’t be this difficult every month. Stop changing things ITS FINE THE WAY IT IS! GET IT TOGETHER

Good Redesign, But Still Buggy

Hello,
First of all Aldi mobile is the best value for money and I have had absolutely no trouble with the service or anything. I’ve been with them for nearly 2 years. This is purely a review for the app. The redesign of the app is good but for some reason I am still getting a message stating “an unexpected error as occurred”. Could you please fix this as it is quite annoying having to sign in on a web browser

Huge improvement

The latest version is a huge improvement. Thank you. The position of the menu items are much better. Less cluttered and screen design much more attractive. Couple of suggestions, the grey text are hard to read maybe make them darker. Also the terminology confuses me, the Pack remaining (data) never changes during the month so I guess that’s the data allowance for the pack. Also rollover data number changes, or decreases, so I guess that number is the remaining. Possibly a review of the term and a tool tip that explains better would be nice. Well done. Thank you.

Improvements make it Easy to use

The update to this app is amazing. It makes me love recharging my account, before it was much harder - I’m looking forward to future updates to the app.
The design is fresh and clean. Much more focused and simpler than Optus app or tpg app. Great effort by the team - you have a happy customer.

Update not compatible

I use my iPad fourth generation which works fine with the previous App version. Now with this update it warns that the update is not compatible. So if I do update the App it may not work, and I would not be able to revert to the version which currently works fine, and I'm left with the App icon showing an update is available. An update including iPad fourth Generation would be appreciated!

The new update that just came out for this app makes everything sooooo much easier to use. Way better than the last version, i was thinking about switching my plan to a different company but i think im going to stay with Aldi for a while.

NOT WORKING

I have downloaded this about 10 times! I tried on wifi, it worked. I tried to log in and it says there was a error in the connection. I checked my internet and it was fine. My login details were also fine. I closed the app and restarted it on my data. Same thing happened. I deleted it and downloaded it again on my mobile data. The same thing happened! Now the only way to view my details is to log in online! Please find a fix for this!

Wow. We have had ALDI prepaid for a year now and have not encountered any of the problems with the App listed in the other feedback.
We traveled for 9 months around Tasmania and the reception was exactly the same as Telstra on our other phone. We find it excellent value for money so far and would thoroughly recommend it.
I would even like to put it on a cellular iPad, does anyone know if this is possible please?

Needs work

Generally okay with this app. But a problem with the balance not updating and being inconsistent with the web site after recharge is a nuisance. And I’m now using the phone overseas and the app won’t work at all, just says there’s been a network error. Have to go get the iPad and check via the browser. That’s very annoying in a situation where you really need easy access to your balance on the phone.

Can’t recharge when out of credit

Unlike every other mobile company I’ve ever used prepaid with, this is the only one I know of that doesn’t allow the user to access its own online portal to recharge when the user runs out of credit. This means if I run out of credit, I’ve got to connect to wifi first then recharge! Seriously! It’s 2018! Can this please be fixed, or you know enable a message a day before to alert the user to recharge before you actually run out of credit! When I do happen to run out of credit the app also logs me out which is stupid! Other than that the app is fine but these two things are a pain!

Aldi mobile

Wow! Awesome service! 8 minutes from signing up and having my sim activated. Downloaded this app and was able to log in easily and all my account details are available. I love the app has the catalogues as well! I changed both my parents to Aldi about a year ago and they are very happy with the service. Their activation only took minutes too. :)

Worst app I've used by far!

If I could score less then 1 star I would. The app never lets me login and if I do manage to login after about 15 attempts soon as I try to check my account the app freezes and kicks me out again!
Aldi you really need to get this sorted, I shouldn't need to log into the website to check, manage and monitor my account and data usage. ( not that it's accurate I get a text message saying I've used 50% of my data then a few minutes later I'll get another saying I've reached 85% data while I'm not even using my phone)
EDIT: This app has had several updates and still the worst app I have ever used. Absolutely useless! If your not with ALDImobile don't change, I'm leaving and I think you should stay away the app is as good as their service.
