Use case: Imagine you are on a trip with two friends: Emma and Daniel. You pay $100 for gas for the trip. Anyone with a calculator can divide that price three ways, but even then, you’d normally have to keep a record of the expense in order to divvy it up later. With Splittr, this expense is entered in a couple of seconds and divided equally with little time or effort.
Imagine that later, you, Emma and Daniel go to a restaurant. You’re not hungry, so you only order juice. Daniel orders a steak and a cheesecake. Emma gets a spinach salad. The bill is $80. Daniel forgot his wallet in the hotel room and doesn’t pay, but you chip in $60 and Emma pays $20. You need a math degree to calculate who owes what, right? Not with Splittr! Fantastic app. Kept track of expenses for large family group on holiday. Easy to use. Loved the ability to weight expenses between members and the detailed report, so everyone can see exactly how their share is calculated.

Perfect

Everything lost
I opened my app to check on expenses and it required me to log in. I insert my phone number it sends me a code and says ‘phone number not recognized’. Then it creates a blank profile and everything I had entered is lost!!! Now I have no idea what has been paid to me and how much is owed!!! Stupid app - it has now cost me $$$$$ because I didn’t keep a tally any where else!!

This app does exactly what it sets out to do, the UI could use some small improvements but overall usability is simple, concise, and accurate exactly what your after when dealing with splitting sums.

A top travel app
I use Splittr for both estimating, recording and “splitting” my overseas travel expenses. At the start I enter any pre-payments then estimates and during the trip record expenses. It allowed me to handle a 5 week trip through multiple countries with friends where we ended up being just $10 apart in our shared expenses and I had no surprises with my own budget.
I travel with people who don’t like the detail stuff and don’t want to do the actual budgeting. Splittr lets me record all our seperate contributions for them without them needing access to it. Of course, if people do want to record expenses themselves (I wish) they have the option to join and do so.
Note: Splittr doesn’t really have an estimating function but I’ve been able to run multiple lists or update entries to achieve this function.

Possibly best app I’ve used
Some apps gets close to what you are hoping for. Splittr exceeded my expectations - brilliant tool which I think I’ll continue using not only for holidays but also for friends and family where bar, restaurants and other costs are shared. I also use it for our share house expenses.
However, the new ad platform sometimes doesn’t give any way to close when it’s a gaming video ad being shown and the only way to get back to Splittr is to close and reopen. I don’t mind watching an ad but after the countdown to not get an X to close is annoying.

Ease for groups
Awesome app that simplifies sharing of costs and a whole lot more. Allows you to spend time doing more important things than messing about with clunky spreadsheets and gives great transparency to whoever needs.

Easy to input, easy to share status report

MUST HAVE if traveling
Road trips, traveling, weekends away with mates.
This app is an absolute MUST. I’ve been using it for years but this latest version is fantastic. Would give 6 stars if I could.

Utter rubbish
Way too many steps added to new version to create simple reports. PDF reporting takes way too long to generate even on an iPhone 7.
Previous version was fast and straightforward to use. Why try to fix something that's not broken?

Simple and powerful!
I routinely use this app for shared costs in camping for 16 people. Easily handles the complexity of multiple people with different types of costs and weighting of costs. Very grateful for this app! Solves a lot of disagreements!

Vital app for travelling as a group
This app is absolutely perfect! It allows payment during travel to be so easy where any individual can pay. Especially helpful with meals where it doesn't matter if one individual consumed significantly more or less than the others, the app has it all! At the end of the trip it simplifies the equalisation payments to minimise the number of times cash had to exchange hands between travellers. So simple once you understand how the app works.
A must for travellers in groups!

Amazing- perfect for travelling
I have used this app on a number of international holidays. It is fantastic and allows you to keep a track of spending in a group. The ease of being able to select different currencies per expense is fantastic. Strongly recommend and well worth it.

Almost, but not quite...
Just took this app on a holiday with three families to keep track of our spending. It did a great job of helping us record and track our spending, including who covered each cost and how it should be spread.
However, it failed on the ‘Settle Up’ function. It was unable to accurately calculate payments in three directions, and only showed people as owing me (or vice versa) and not what they owed each other. In the end we exported the transactions and reworked the sums in a spreadsheet.
In short, great app for keeping a record, but don’t rely on it’s calculations.

Me and my travel buddy both downloaded the app, assuming the two were in sync so each of us could enter own expenses but it's not possible. What a waste of money

Works well
Works well for me, no issues, haven't found any bugs (yet!) and the design and flow of the app is quite nice and logical.
I've used this for one trip previously with a friend, and it was really handy, especially with currency changes between the countries we visited. Applying our actual exchange rates afterwards tidied everything up to the cent!

Very useful
The app is great, well designed and intuitive to use.
Would love it if you could add a calculator function to the parts where you enter the amount of the total expense or where you have to manually adjust the amounts for each person for an expense.

I have just started using this to keep track of who owes what while my friend and I are booking accommodation around Europe. It is brilliant!
