Great App with a few annoying shortcomings
I love this app and use it to just sit and look at the stars, but for some reason you can’t get the stars name and information when you look at it or put a laser pointer on it?
Surely this is possible, as the iPhone app at least names the stars that you select .
Anyway this is a good feature to have .

My favourite Astro App and I use a lot of them!
By far the best interface and quality app going round for astrophotography in my opinion. I use it daily, worth the annual subscription fee - absolutely. That said, there’s always room for improvement.
Here’s some feedback that would greatly assist people who use the astrophotography (PRO) features even more so.
On screen framing rotation -
having to go back into the Astrophotography page to slide the rotation offset, then exit, check how it changed your framing and rinse and repeat is probably the biggest killer with the app. If you could have a live swiping rotation bar down the bottom of the view (similar to the compass correction feature) when Field of View is turned on, that would be a huge improvement for this app. You’d be able to frame your target without the need to back and forth the unknown.
Add Grids and Lines - in the Reference section, add a toggle for grids and lines so you can view deg in RA and DEC along with your framing. E.g. I want to know what time a target reaches a certain deg in the sky, say, 35deg so I can plan to shoot at that time. I might have a building or tree impeding from my yard, etc. Currently I have to use Stellarium for this function without using the AR view on location.
Take that one step further, Further you could then potentially add filtering in your object search by >x deg tonight and for how many hours
Oiii layer
add an oiii view similar to the ha, x-ray, visible light etc, that you can swipe across to. This would help frame and plan for heavy oiii targets which is common for suburban imaging.

Needs extra features
I love the visual aspects of the app, but I’d love to see a new update with a lot of additional functionality which matches the iOS and macOS versions for visionOS.
Being able to view the explore tab with menus for stars, solar system, deep sky objects etc to match iOS would be great. Include things tonight’s best, upcoming events like solar eclipse, close comets etc.
3D models for planets would also be perfect for visionOS.
The field of view settings for astrophotographers ported across from iOS would be a great feature too.

I’ve loved this app for ages it’s really cool to be able to visualise a map of stars physically into your space but every so often they take away some of my favourite features for the free version. You used to be able to search for lots and lots of constellations and now it’s brought down to much less they have taken away the ability to see some of my favourite constellations with ease no hate to the devs but could you explain why? If I could I would use the paid version but right now I can’t love the app don’t love some of the updates.

Great app, but I wish there was the ability to look for more stuff
It has all sorts of cool features, like information and constellation outlines, but I wish you could search for black holes and other more complex celestial bodies without having to pay each month. If it was a one time payment then I would be happy to pay, but it is monthly or yearly. But still, a very good app.

4th update thank you very much for the reply I appreciate that… iPad 12.9” 2nd gen iOS 17.7.10. Downloaded latest update ten minutes ago but still no change. 3rd update I deleted the app and a week later downloaded it again. I still have no access to the settings menu or the Pro features that I have subscribed to and paid for. I raised the issue with the developers through the App Store well over a week ago. What’s going on Fifth Star Labs. 2nd update Latest update a week ago I can open the app but have no access to the app settings or the pro features that I’m subscribed to. The best star watcher app on the market
I’ve had this one since it first come out and have never had another persons star maps hit the same. The change of light spectrums is my fav tool and all the information and stories, it’s like an encyclopedia of the sky. Overall I couldn’t fault the product. Used it heaaaaps

Invaluable app but macOS needs better zoom scroll support
I'm a Pro subscriber because of how good this app is on mobile. As an astrophotographer, it's invaluable for researching and locating targets.
However, I'd like it if the macOS-compatible version of the app made the zooming less sensitive, or if possible, make it so that it's not pinch-to-zoom, but scroll-to-zoom. Even just zoom buttons like on Google Maps would improve the desktop experience significantly.
Would definitely give this app 5 stars if that's the case.

This app is the best sky sky observing app I’ve ever seen. There is one feature that I feel doesn’t Work properly, being the star brightness feature as I doesn’t change the brightness of the stars. Apart from that, absolutely amazing!

Has a weird fault on iPad
I do like this app but it has a weird glitch I can’t get rid of. If I open it it is fine, but if I switch to a different app to get info or something then go back to this one, I lose almost half the sky. It is very annoying and spoils what would be a good experience. I have the paid version.

Best Star App ever
I have been using this wonderful App since 2016 when cruising the Canal de Midi in France. It was invaluable for understanding the stars of the northern hemisphere which were foreign to me. I still use it regularly now we live in country Queensland, Australia. I just love that I can look up and find out what the planets or stars are that we can see. Thank you to whoever put this together. You have brought great joy to looking at the magnificent creation in the night’s sky.

I had this app on my first generation ipad before it stopped being supported. Got it on my mac thinking, "it can't be that good on laptop since it is a mobile app." It has surpassed my expectations. Quality just like on the ipad. One feature i would like to see is if Mac independent support came into use than the mouse scroll wheel to zoom in.
I have no more words i absolutely love this. Super helpful when i take my nat geo newtonian telescope out on clear nights and look for objects of interest

Spent many sleepless nights on this app hunting the satellite’s and adding them to my favourites after I’d spotted them. After the upgrade I don't really enjoy it anymore. Before the upgrade all the satellites were lit up on the app when they were overhead. Now you have to look for them by time. Also the pictures of the satellites were great before showing their size compared to a human. Now they’re just child like drawings all looking the same. With all the new added features the app is now boring unless you pay for a subscription to look at the things that were free before the upgrade. Sad!!

Sky Guide is a great app. I love looking at the stars and planets and different things in the universe. However, to do a lot of things like the things in the section “Cosmic Curiosities” you need to pay or do a free TRIAL which is annoying because I want to explore further but without paying, I can’t.

I’ve always loved the stars and tried to work out the constellations but nothing made sense until I found this app. I use it daily and can now spot some constellations without the app, as well as teaching my children the stars, their names and the planets.

Indispensable
I’ve tried dozens of pieces of software purporting to do similar things over the years, but never have I found another that does anything remotely close. Not only is it impressively functional in just the right ways and feature-rich for those who want to dive deeper, it’s also visually stunning.
It’s become an indispensable piece of my observation toolkit, to the point that everything else has been effectively obsoleted when it comes to planning and wayfinding in the field. I never hesitate to recommend it, and everybody I show immediately understands why.

Literally Life Changing
I love this app on a night by the campfire. It sends my imagination to places it wouldn’t normally be able to go ans then I can share that with whoever is present! Wow what an amazing experience.

Amazing! Minor improvements could be made
This app does just about everything, however there’s a few items I feel it misses or could improve. Firstly, adding more asteroids/comets/satellites. There are only some major objects that you can search and find, adding more of these would be great. Secondly it would be fantastic to add in a oxygen 3 and sulphur 2 views (to add to the hydrogen alps view). Finally it would be great if you could set multiple locations as favourites and toggle between them, instead of having to find them each time on the map view.

A terrific app
A terrific source of information for anyone interested in the stars, planets and what’s out there in space, no matter what level of knowledge you have in astronomy. Point your iPhone to the sky and identify an object in space. Love being advised when the space station comes overhead. A great app. - love it!

Great app. Few things that could be improved. I can find it hard to find catalog numbers on objects especially from the map usually end up going to google. Wish I could search an area of the sky and then use the visibility sorting would be awesome.

Into-stellar!!
Great way to explore the heavens. Constellations appear with a superimposed artwork that captures your imagination (these can also be turned off in settings). Easily to reach information blurbs can be found along side each point of interest. These give you an insight into the background and current knowledge of the object; name, mythology and science information such as star type, size are provided in most cases. I have used this app for years and it will continue to encourage me out side and to look up! 5 celestial beauties out of 5!

Great app but suggestions
I love this app. It is very intuitive, full of content and educational. I do however have a suggestion to give:
The Star Guide widget should indicate the change in the planet's rise and set times that occurs. E.g. the moon sets at 16:47 tonight, but tomorrow it will set XYZ minutes later. This can be indicated by an arrow pointing up or down depending on if the rise/set time progresses or regresses the next day.
This would be very useful to people like me that plan their telescope viewing ahead of time.

Worth every cent!
It might sound cheesy but buy the full version, go outside late at night, put headphones on and make sure Sky Guides music is ‘ON’. You can spend ages exploring the sky with this app! The ambience that the music creates makes it that much better too!

Extraordinary
Beautiful graphics, effortless UI and packed with useful tools that aid and inform stargazing for everyone; the customizable time and location, allowing you to explore the skies of almost the entire planet for a given time, is one of my favourite features. Unquestionably the best stargazing app I've used.

Star gazing
Have come to look for particular stars by being shown their location. Now I see how in times past, people were able to navigate by the stars. Appreciate the notifications of stellar events.

Killer Astro App with amazingly useful localisation
I’ve tried stacks of Astro apps over the years. This absolutely nails it in terms of powerful features packaged in the most elegant and easy to use UI. But the real killer feature is localisation. More often than not this level of detail only works in certain countries or cities - but I was delighted to see it works perfectly for me in Adelaide, Australia. I’m talking really useful info like light pollution, cloud cover and visual magnitude - the type of weather data very specific to astronomy and stargazing. This is presented in a very useful format that’s already filtered to my geo location and doesn’t require interpretation of generic weather and maps. There’s also a range of Astro news that’s timely, well curated, and seamlessly integrated. Love this App!

Totally awesome
This app is totally worth buying! It’s so pretty to look at plus it has everything you’ve ever wondered about when it comes to star💫 gazing or finding out where our space stations are, without this app i probably wouldn’t have known Mars was so close to earth 🌏 the 1st time in 15yrs!! Being able to share the beauty of the universe and all that is out there amazing thank you ☺️ 🌟

Opening my eyes to the galaxy
What a revelation this has been to me! I look forward to getting my five minute warnings to observe the ISS and other man made wonders along with learning about our own little solar system and the ever-expanding galaxy.

Astounding!
This app blows my mind every time I use it. Just this evening I was working away when it reminded me the international space station was passing over. Walk out side and there it is! I’ve used the app all over the world and can’t rate it enough

AMAZING so worth it
I watched the video and looked at the photos and I was all ready sold on it, I bought it and in my opinion it was better than the video and photos, the AR and everything works perfectly

This is amazing
I am amazed at the time and effort put into this app.
It was pretty cool once I saw this app and bought it straight away. I love all the information and the detail. I also really really like how the smallest stars that you see you have to zoom in and all of them are named.

Best app ever, and thank you for adding AR mode
This app is the best on the market AND it’s affordable as well.
The SUPERMASSIVE add on is great as well (worth subscribing to) because it shows all the deep sky objects in detail.
But most of all thank you for adding Augmented Reality because now we can see what part of the sky the objects are in. (YAY!)😄😄😄
