i am so disappointed in this streaming platform! i’m trying to cancel my subscription and cannot i’ve contacted multiple times and am still waiting for a response! it ridiculous and for the amount of money people are paying to stream, it should be so easy and accessible to cancel at anytime as that’s what it claims to be able to do!

Can’t AIRPLAY

Whenever there is an ad in the show it drops out from airplay and takes me back to the start. I then have to guess where I’m at on the time bar.
Also it’s mega slow just to watch on the iPad. You get the circle of death at every selection that you don’t get on any other streaming service.
Lastly, for now, if you are going to force ads on people switch them up. I’ve changed companies after getting the same ad 20 times and feeling a hatred towards that ad

Region restrictions

How Foxtel restricts their Foxtel Go users from using the app is counterproductive because it allows other apps users have on their phones to spy on them. They should restrict the ISP rather than restrict where the user is accessing the app from, for example if the user is using an Australian ISP such as Telstra or Optus they should be able to access Foxtel Go, but if they’re using BT then they are restricted from accessing Foxtel Go on their phones.

Fix the add issue!!

This ridiculously obvious glitch has become a nuisance especially considering how much we pay for foxtel!! App crashes every time there’s an add coincidentally forcing you to watch repeated adds to get it to work again. Put on as many adds as you like!!! This nefarious little work around is a joke!!

Picture in Picture iOS feature still not available

iOS 14 introduced Picture in Picture so you can watch video and be on other apps like messenger at the same time. Yet we are up to iOS 17 & still this app doesn’t have that feature.
I hate that I have to get out of the app to message a mate about something in the game.

For Such a Large Company, The Foxtel Foxtel Go APP is USELESS

For such a large company it’s amazing to me that for such a long time they have gotten by with such a useless app given it so much of what we do these days is on iPhones iPads and laptops. One of the biggest and most painful issues is that unlike many other streaming apps, Foxtel does not allow Picture-in-Picture or split-screen on iPad. You cannot minimise the video into a small window to multitask, which is frustrating and limits usability. We were able to do this in a browser but now the browser forces you to open the app. Worst still is that this comes on top of one of the most compelling frustrations, which is that for more than 50% of the time we’re watching ads.

As soon as I logged in it said that I had no internet connection though, I did. Constant playing of Ads!

Rubbish app

I’d like to use stronger language but this review probably wouldn’t get get published. The app has worked ok for years but recently hasn’t. Constantly claims no internet connection which is BS. Cannot rely on it working l, very hit and miss. I will cancel my subscription because of this, used to only really watch via the app, no point anymore as to unreliable. I think Foxtel have put the cue in the rack and stopped paying app maintenance. Bit of a shame was a good service once. Times change I suppose.

Urgent update required.

Needs an update. It’s been a year if not longer since the app was updated. There’s no in app watching, no double tap feature to skip ahead. Lacks basic functionality

Great content, but the app interface is lacking. It’s difficult to control particularly when casting to chromecast. The lack of a pause/start bar, that is there some of the time but disappears after you’ve been playing a show for a while. I can’t recommend the app, but the content is good.

Rubbish app

So with all the other streaming services in Australia up to parr. Foxtel now or foxtel go, whatever platform the call their streaming services…are the worst streaming platform you can’t experience. I pay $100 per month. Can’t watch foxtelnow or foxtel go on any platform. I have to stream it off my phone…but get this. The streaming doesn’t work either. So I’m paying $100 per month to basically not view the content. Amazing work Foxtel Australia. Legends !!!!!!

No stand alone AppleTV app

We only watch TV through AppleTV as it’s so user friendly, the interface is clean & well designed. So when Kayo upped their price to $40 per month, I checked out Foxtel again. Unfortunately, there is no Stand alone Foxtel Now (Go) app for AppleTV. So in order to watch on TV we have to Airplay it. Not the best experience. The reason we use AppleTV is that we often have to use AirPods (AppleTV can connect 2 pairs of AirPods at the same time) to watch Movies & shows due to my hearing loss & not wanting to annoy the neighbours (we have no insulation in our walls). As usual, Foxtel provides a subpar service for a premium price. Considering Foxtel is a legacy company, with many older customers it is ridiculous that most of their products do not support for use of AirPods/bluetooth headphones.

Disappointed

This is an old technology app. Here’s just one annoying example, it doesn’t even let you remove programs from ‘Continue Watching’.
Easy to fast forward to the end to remove a movie but if it’s a series it appears in ‘Continue Watching’ again each and every time an episode is released. If that’s a football game then it shows up for each game of the season and then just when you think you’ve gotten rid of it, it turns up again when the first game of the next football season starts. Year after year after year!!!
Every other streaming service can manage something basic like this, but not Foxtel.

Hard work, excessive ads

Good variety and quality content. Shame that the app makes it difficult to watch.
Foxtel Go is, without a doubt, the worst mainstream streaming app I’ve used. The sheer volume of unskippable ads is excessive - especially frustrating given the monthly price. Skipping through content while in a video is a chore as the only way to navigate is blindly scrolling via the time bar, waiting for it to load, then scroll a bit more. I stream using Chromecast, which is extra difficult because the time bar disappears entirely - this necessitates a restart which results in yet another round of ads.
Various ways to watch Foxtel, all of which are superior to this app. The overall user experience is clunky, inconvenient, and riddled with interruptions. I’d strongly advise avoiding using this app where possible without a complete update from Foxtel.

Expensive trash that has runs it’s course.

Foxtel when I was a kid wasn’t half bad but now with all the micro transactions and extensions and add ons as well as ads on pay t.v., fox is literally taking the Mickey. So glad it’s being brutally bashed in the comments!
I think foxtel with inevitably die out against the actually good streaming apps etc, even the elderly has caught on to this in my family and abandoned the overpriced fossil that is fox now. All their licenses are for outdated things and newer licenses are going to Netflix etc. I’m sure they are seeing the loses better than anyone!
Also please note that I do not need tech support or team chat to tell you how to do a better job. Actually read my comment and take in what everyone else is saying or perish as a company/ employee for said company. Eat the rich and greedy! Enjoy your downfall.

Still missing Picture in Picture after 4 irritating years!

Please, Foxtel, for the love of God can you update the Foxtel Go app to match your media peers and support iOS Picture in Picture / multitasking functionality? It has been available for the majority of streamlining services since iOS 14 in 2020. I believe this is the only streaming application in Australia - be it FTA or subscription - which does not support this, and it’s way overdue! People lead busy lives. If they need to check a message or email while watching the news or their favourite sport, please don’t make them exit the app to do this… you know what to do. Do it!!!

Frustrating is polite

Just read the reviews. 2.1 out of 5 with 1,000s of feedback. So I’m not going to rehash all the feedback that keeps being avoided and ultimately fixed for a stream easy app experience. Foxtel you guys need to do far far better. Clearly what you are doing isn’t working and I know of at least 4 people that have cancelled their subscription because of the all the problems with the app. I’ve given up on it too. Whilst I haven’t deleted it yet I do hope that someone from foxtel will take all of these reviews seriously and fix the problems.
It’s not hard these days to do this. Staggering to think a company worth 100 millions maybe into the billion plus mark cannot make a user friendly app that works

Seriously how hard is it for foxtel to get up to date with streaming quality? The app disconnects you almost instantly after selecting something to stream so you than have to stop streaming and re stream if you want to pause the show.
And to make it even more rubbish, not only do you force adds at the start you now have them pop up mid stream multiple times and 3 times louder than the volume of the show.
No other streaming app does this, honestly foxtel you're the worst streaming service out there. I'm amazed you havnt gone bankrupt yet with this pisspoor quality you produce.

Used to be great

Like many others i enjoyed the Foxtel go app. Great way to watch your favourite shows in bed with out the need of a tv. Recently they added in adds to play through out what you are watching. Not just one add though, multiple adds in a row every 10mins. It is highly frustrating to have 3 30 second adds in a row 3 times in a video that is suppose to be streaming. Doesn’t happen on my computer or when i watch on demand only on my phone.
The app also has no feature to skip Intros and recaps which is annoying.
A good feature though, it tells you when something is leaving which is nice.

I was subscribed with Foxtel Now for several years - even got a Foxtel Now Box. It was never used as I was still using a functioning Set-Top Box at the time. Unfortunately, like many folk struggling with C.O.L. issues, I asked to ‘suspend’ my account until things eased (I can still log-in, but that’s all). I understood that as long as I had the ability to still log-in, I could still use my Foxtel Now Box as a Digital Tuner only, until I restored my previous/new plan. However, when I attempt to install the Box via my tv. it will not complete the set-up process. So is the Box useless unless I’m actually subscribed to a paying plan? Why can’t I still use it as a Digital Tuner for ‘Free-to-air’ programming? This feels so like Foxtel's style - to disable the device until you start paying up again. Or have I got that wrong…? I can’t seem to get any answers… and I’m not happy about any of it.

It’s a chore

Watching stuff back is painful, especially stuff you fast forward through certain sections of. The lack of a “double tap” feature on either side of the screen to fast forward or rewind or even a fixed button in the time bar at the bottom makes it nigh on impossible to do seamlessly or even at all as half the time it doesn’t pick up your finger moving & even then, when you manage to, it’s a guessing game as there isn’t any frame images like there are when streaming on the physical Foxtel box itself. It turns what could be a half hour viewing experience for an hour show into longer than the show itself.
Why is it that Foxtel Go is the only streaming service in Australia without this feature or any other ones like feed quality selection & others the reviews have left that keep being ignored? And now you want us to pay more for content we had but now with ads too? And as usual, no offers extend to existing customers, ones that stop you going out of business in the first place. Stop making it such a chore to view content we pay for.

Clunky app, and now far too many ads

If I could give zero stars, I would.
The point of paying for content is for it stream well, and to be free of advertisements. With the recent introduction of several ads (at a time, and several times during streaming a show), the app now will lose audio, skip scenes, and jump scenes before and after each of the clusters of ads. And for the developers - yes, my iOS is the latest, and I cleared my cache. The app still doesn’t work properly, so I guess you have some work to do.
I’m not going to pay for such an ordinary service, I’m going to change to a different streaming platform with better performance and no ads. Or just go back to free-to-air TV if I wanted ads (no difference now with Foxtel anyway - at least I don’t lose scenes before or after ads).
If you were thinking of going with Foxtel, all I have to say is ‘Foxtel? GO! RUN! To a different provider!’ There are much better streaming services than this rubbish. Seems like a lot of people agree.

Any service other than Foxtel

Don’t waste your time or money on Foxtel. It’s ridiculously expensive, filled with advertisements and the packages are a joke. I attempted to binge watch a Tv show on my tablet only to get bombarded with ads the whole way through. Binge (this is Foxtel) would be a better option for streaming but typical Murdoch will still try to throw ads your way via the $10 subscription.
At the end of the day, Foxtel doesn’t have anything special other than the HBO shows which you can get to using a VPN
The Foxtel app is so 1980’s it makes you cringe. Slow, clunky and you can’t pop it out and still have a movie running in the background while you do something else. It just shuts down. Seriously. How old is that 🤔

Useless!

If I could give it zero stars I would! Don’t waste your time trying to watch anything on this useless app, you will only be left frustrated. The developers need to go back to uni because this app is the biggest failure in the online streaming business!
It jumps all over the place during an episode. It keeps injecting adverts (on repeat) in the middle of a scene, and quite often it will jump back to the beginning of the episode, after the adverts have ran. And if that’s not enough, it loses sound too - usually after an advert break.
Thank goodness we are cancelling our subscription to Foxtel at the end of this billing month. Between the lack of content on Foxtel & this viewing experience, who needs Foxtel?

Looks like the end for me

I work away in remote areas and use the app to watch my favourite shows. Let’s face Foxtel is expensive,I would of thought in today’s competitive streaming market they would try and stay in front but instead they now have slipped adds into On Demand. I can watch countless hours of worthless adds for free elsewhere and not waste data. Netflix and others are looking better all the time. We have platinum members for many years now it’s almost embarrassing to admit. We put up with the adds at home as it’s a good time to make another coffee.
Maybe it’s time to have a good look at this and see if we really enjoy Foxtel that much ?

The only good thing is the content available

The app is extremely annoying to navigate. You can’t skip/fast forward movies or shows or intros. You get ads popping up in shows. Then the program glitches for a while with sound or looping back in time before commencing again.

For one of the more expensive streaming services,that I have been paying for years with 3 boxes at home, they need to up their game. The app is bad, the user control is bad, the only good thing about Foxtel is the content available. (Mostly HBO shows)

The final straw

The Foxtel app has always been a frustrating buggy disappointment clearly showing Foxtel does not care about user experience. Given Foxtel monthly cost is over 6 times that of the other popular streaming services/providers the terrible app experience is unacceptable. But now they increased the advertising not only at the start of each episode but also 30 sec ads interrupt numerous times in a episode. After each ad the app hangs meaning you have to either close the app or skip forward. How can a service that costs so much more need to be so saturated with advertising. I will be cancelling my Foxtel tomorrow - I am just so over this company and their advertising saturated sub standard services.

A substandard app with years old bugs they refuse to fix

Every other streaming service, including the free ones, works seamlessly with chromecast but not Foxtel. The video controls disappear the moment you leave the app or sleep your phone and then you can’t pause, fast forward or rewind what you’re watching. The only way you can get the controls back is to stop casting and start all over again. But the app also doesn’t always track where you are up to so you often need to manually skip through the video to find where you are up to. It’s pretty disappointing that a premium paid service can’t even bother fixing bugs that people have been complaining about for years.

Overpriced/under delivered

Out of all the streaming servicing this is the most expensive one with the smallest amount of content, if you’re signing up just for HBO then I recommend Binge. Being so overpriced it’s frustrating that the app doesn’t even have features like the free to air apps do. There is no quick skip forward or back which makes it tricky to see where you are when you rewind. There is an add before every program even though you’re already paying for the app and majority of the movies on here you have to pay for. Pls install a 10 sec skip & TV Sync

The app is pretty good these days. Have no issues finding & playing what I want, except it doesn’t sync with the TV app so I can’t just swap easily from watching on TV to my phone. I have to remember which episode I was up to & find it manually which is a pain.
Also desperately needs a 10 sec Skip forward & back feature so if you missed something or want to skip something (like the opening credits which I’ve seen 1000 times 🙄) you can.

My detailed description of app not playing new to on demand sport events with sound on ipad to apple tv has been deleted. Take this as with many horrible bugs, that foxtel and developers have no plans to listen to any of the suggestions.
Basically I can stream on my ipad a replay of yesterdays mexican f1 race and have sound via headphones. When I stream to tv via apple tv there is never any sound. Same for yesterday’s nascar race and several nba games from last week….
Anything else on demand, other than yesterday’s sporting events, played on demand, play picture and sound perfectly on my tv via ipad and apple tv (eg any show or movie works 100% everytime, and live TV 100% every time)

Terrible app

Probably the worst streaming app I’ve ever used. Only good if you watch directly on your phone but when you cromecast and watch something on the tv, if you try go back to the app to either pause or rewind the app seems to completely forget what you’re cromecasting! When I want to pause the tv show I’m watching I literally have to stop casting and reload the app, then cromecast again just to be able to hit the pause button. And if I’m away for too long same thing happens all over again, I try to go back into the app to hit play and there’s no where to hit play, the app doesn’t show what I’m cromecasting. Stick with Netflix

We we’re paying $140 a month for Foxtel up until last month when we cancelled. This included two boxes in our house which is a crazy amount considering the TV shows you can get on Netflix, Stan etc for a fraction of the monthly cost. We live in a house of five and liked the fact that Foxtel not only had all the channels with the shows we watch but this app that we can use to keep up to date with shows we’ve missed HOWEVER the fact that Foxtel don’t even respect their customers enough to allow them to Chromecast from this app without paying a additional cost or use PIP is ridiculous. A dinosaur of an app that needs to go extinct

There’s no skip forward or backwards button. Like a 15 or 30sec skip forwards/backwards. My biggest peeve is that I can’t manually select a Hight quality for data usage. You can only choose Auto or Low quality. If I want to watch something I want it to look good. I don’t want to look at gigantic pixels. I should able to choose. I would rather if it stopped and waited for buffering if only if the quality was good. But these dinosaurs won’t give you that option. Everyone needs to cancel their foxtel subscriptions so HBO goes and makes their own streaming service available for Australians. And all the other shows this dying dinosaur has the rights to will be picked up by all the other streaming services that actually offer you the choice of what quality you want to stream your shows at. It’s a waste of my time streaming a good quality show like Raised By Wolves to only be let down with the shocking giant pixels & the poor quality of Murdoch and his apps. Auto? This is junk!!!

Terrible on the TV

The app on the phone is usually ok however drops out sometimes.
The app on my smart TV is terrible. Never loads first attempt forcing you to go out and go into another app for a few minutes and then return to try again (sometimes multiple times). It drops out frequently, is extremely slow to scroll through channels and you can never turn the TV back on from stand by and return to where you left off. Shows pause often and the voice and picture doesn’t match. It’s sooo very frustrating!! Especially where my 2nd box couldn’t be replaced as too old and I was told this would be my alternative for our 2nd room. I don’t have this issue with any of the other apps and it’s not an internet problem.

What a waste

You can literally spend $144 a month and get none of the functionality any streaming app that costs $12 a month gets.
You get ads, not only that but you get the same 2-4 ads between every episode you watch over and over again for 7-14 days in a row and then they swap and the cycle repeats.
You get no continuity in your streams. You stop watching a show for more than a day? You have to figure out where you were before you start watching again because this app won’t remember and if you try and skim episodes you get ads in between them.
You can access the app on multiple devices but it does not work properly, if you watch an episode of something on your TV it won’t display on your phone or your other TV, it just behaves as if you never watched it.
When you disconnect from wifi and go to cellular it completely stops the stream and then will skip back to “where the stream was” (which is never accurate and you’ll watch the same scene 8 times) once you reconnect, so if you’re on a bad wifi connection like me it will stop and start over and over again until you either move closer to the wifi router or disconnect completely instead of just buffering like EVERY OTHER APP.

Foxtel - Absolutely Ridiculous

With the amount Foxtel charges, you’d expect something decent. Instead we have an app that doesn’t work, has ridiculously stupid functions, is jam packed full of ads, amongst a million other terrible things. With so many competitors, with MUCH lower fees, it makes me wonder why they make it so appalling. For example, you can pay around $10 per month for Netflix, which has a huge library of shows/movies/documentaries etc. Their app works great, has a super easy UI, and functionality actually makes sense. Whereas the Foxtel app, has a fraction of the library it could have, and when it actually does work, you are forced to watch a 30 second long unskippable ad when starting and pausing any movie/show. If I wanted to watch ads, I’d get a free streaming service. Even their ads are shorter, and skippable. Also, thanks Foxtel for making your app even worse. Now when I watch something in the app, if I connect it to my tv, I can’t even lock my device. I literally have to leave the app and device open and unlocked just to be able to watch a show on my tv. This is new, and never used to happen, so tell me why you would introduce this ridiculous function? To anyone who hasn’t already wasted their money signing up to Foxtel, I’d suggest you don’t. Even if you literally paid for a subscription for every other streaming service, you’d still pay less than that of Foxtel. But if you love super long ads and spending an exorbitant amount of money, then Foxtel’s for you.

Guaranteed to drop off while casting

This app actually drives me crazy. I only ever use it to cast to my chrome cast to watch shows on my TV. You can guarantee that it will drop off while watching a show. Meaning you can't just easily pause and play.... You have to stop casting then recast to get things going again. This has been happening for years and you'd think the developers would have fixed this issue by now.
Sometimes I get so frustrated that I cancel my account but then I come back again when there's a show I want to watch, then disconnect it again. If it was easy to use and worked properly like Netflix and Stan etc then I'd just keep my account going like I do with those ones.
Please fix. It's frustrating and surely can't be too hard to solve, given other steaming services don't have this many issues.

Worst app ever

This is the worst app I've ever used on any device ever. Without any exaggeration, this app constantly crashes regardless of whether it is in live or catch up mode. Monkeys could write a better app and if my business name was on an app this poor I'd be embarrassed. Good when it’s working but...

The app is generally ok but is has some extremely annoying things seemingly built into it.
It’s constant popping up with “Are you still there? Press play to confirm” when you’re in the middle of a movie or in the last minute of a sporting event is aggravating in the extreme.
Even worse is the pop-up which seems to appear randomly telling you you have been kicked off, “login failed” even though you’ve been watching for some time. The only solution is to close the app and re-open it, by which time you’ve missed the conclusion of whatever you were watching.
Also, why can I rewind half an hour on live shows when watching through my iPad, but as soon as I cast to the TV that ability disappears?
This app could be really good, but these gripes are very annoying and seem completely unnecessary.

Lacks basic features

The viewing experience with this app is deeply frustrating. Simple features which are standard from other streaming services just aren’t there. My biggest beef: there’s no button to skip forward or back 30 seconds. Heaven help you if you missed a bit of dialogue. You’re at the mercy of the scrub bar which is barely functional and doesn’t allow for any delicate control. The “next ep” button is inconsistent- sometimes pops up once the credits roll, sometimes immediately, sometimes after several seconds, occasionally when there’s still 15 or 30 seconds of program still to run. Irritatingly, there’s no support for picture-in-picture.
I know this is an add on to the standard Foxtel service, but it’s an expensive service and bundling a sub-par app with it is not helping me believe I’m getting value for money.

Annoying mobile data/wifi switch

I got this app on my phone to watch shows and there is the most frustrating problem i’ve had to experience. If you ever stand up and walk a bit with your show playing in hand, it switches to your mobile data and u have to wait for it to load, it then goes back to switching to wifi where you must wait again. After you stay still it constantly continues to switch back and for from wifi and mobile data, where you must just sit there for at least 5-10 mins before it stops. Also, everytime it finishes loading the switch, the show gets rewinded about 10 seconds and you end up having to rewatch the same 10 seconds over and over. Very irritating and disappointing and a complete trash can of an app.

Foxtel doesn’t help with issues

I like Foxtel, it has my favourite shows but the amount of ads are outrageous! It’s too much money just for disappointment, We have had so many issues and we’ve called support and come with no help or being on hold for 3 hours! I am not trying to sound like a Karen but seriously, you guys really need better staff.
It charges way too much money to only be able to stream 30 shows out of hundreds. It’s really annoying how all the good shows are limited to people with a higher subscription. It only leaves the shows with extremely low ratings for my subscription.
There are also so many bugs in the app, I don’t have weak WiFi, in fact, I have really good WiFi however while watching it’s extremely slow with low FPS and the staff don’t help either.
Please, just fix all the bugs because it feel like Foxtel is not helping with their costumer’s issues. If there is anyone thinking about downloading Foxtel and subscribing, don’t it’s not worth the money.

Inefficient app processes- app suggestion for improvement

When moving, for example from the end of one movie on Netflix to the next, you have to exit the movie and go to the next. I would suggest if possible a feature that makes it easy to click the next movie. Like a easy flow on instead of the screen pausing on the tv, having to disconnect google chrome then connect again on the new movie. Also when using google home at night, if you turn the tv off but don’t pause the movie or turn chrome cast off, the app will keep the movie playing over the network. I am not really sure why my phone stayed connected, maybe the set or processes I used to put my phone to sleep on charge still connected to wifi with the app still open ( Not a computer Tech) This caused me to miss work because my iPhone alarms didn’t sound as the phone was still connected to the tv. over the wifi or something. To be honest I am not sure why it happens but i think there is some sort of processes that can be edited within a software update to fix this.

Useless Foxtel as usual

I can’t believe Foxtel can charge the amount they do for such a sub-par app & streaming service. They have the rights to some of the best shows which is the only reason it’s worth giving it a try. This app and TV app have some of the worst functionality I’ve seen in a streaming service. When opening up a show it automatically started playing the latest episode. We just watched episode 8 of season 3 of Westworld thinking it was the 1st episode!! Extremely annoyed and now realised why we were so confused! This was on the TV app by the way but another frustration is the lack of ability for the app to follow where you’re up to. No recently watched function or easy way of navigating where you’re up to. Even when skipping through a show to get to where you want you just have to guess. Netflix shows you small scene stills of where you’re at rather than guessing and waiting for it to buffer every time.

Very disappointed

I love the channel E very much but unfortunately it’s very sad to see that for the past four days they have played the same four shows and the same episodes for four days straight they have only played keeping up with the Kardashian‘s which I love Tyler Henry medium botched and some dating show but unfortunately it’s been the same episodes to those shows that they are playing over and over again with maybe one new episode in between the same shows they have been playing. How come they aren’t playing anything different apart from four shows surely they have more than four shows on that channel pretty sad and shouldn’t have to cost us money to watch the same thing over and over again. Non-functional.

Since the most recent update this app does nothing more than load the loading screen and the little spinny thing indefinitely. For the amount of money this company charges us to watch content with ads, one would assume they could afford to create apps that allow is to access said content. Unfortunately not, though, and this app has joined their smart TV app as being useless. Will be interesting to see how much longer the PS4 app lasts before it too becomes non functional.

Fix the AS4022 error

I have already written a previous review on this app. It drops out constantly and there is nothing in the Foxtel Support page that fixes it. I have an NBN connection, but this error happens all the time. I have disconnected my Google Chromecast several times, and just now I have deleted the app in the hope that by downloading the app again, it might help. There is clearly a coding glitch with this app. As someone who has done coding, I would suggest Foxtel, get its developers back on the job to fix this bug. I see there are similar reviews with the same problem. Not very impressed for $25 a month, which doesn’t even give me access to many of the other channels on Foxtel.

Buggy app that hardly works

I’m new to the service, got a free trial because a friend uses it and said it was good. I downloaded on my ps3 and iPad (one year old). When using on ps3 it is constantly freezing to the point I can’t even turn it off manually, plus about 30x a day I get a “no wifi connection” alert which is not accurate as phone, iPad (not Foxtel) and other stuff all connect fine. On iPad I get so many freezes, and the same issues with “no connection”, regardless if I turn off the wifi or whatever. Now apart from the super buggy app and the need to force reset every item that I’ve been using with it at least 5x a day, it also does not keep track of what you’re watching/episodes, and it’s the laggy nature makes it even harder. Would not recommend to pay for this service - expensive, bad and absolutely not worth it.

Why won't it work on a VPN?

I'm in hospital for a few days, using their public wifi with a VPN like most people would to avoid scammers, identity theft, etc. And I was thinking I could keep up with my shows with Foxtel Go. I've had trouble with connecting when I've accidentally left my VPN on at home, and it resolves as soon as I turn the VPN off.
So of course the minute I'm on a public wifi, VPN connected, Foxtel Go tells me I'm not even connected to the internet. Stopped the VPN for 5 minutes and it connected with no drama, clearly I'm not going to continue using a public wifi without a VPN so I guess I'm stuck with no Foxtel. Thanks guys 🙄

Bad chromecast connectivity

Foxtel has a great variety of shows BUT trying to use the app to chromecast in a different room is a huge pain. The app frequently stops registering that it is casting a show and does not reconnect without the user disconnecting casting and restarting the app. Playback continues from where it “stopped casting” so then you have to try and adjust where you are up to, and sometimes during this process it stops registering casting again (especially switching episodes in a series). App needs an upgrade in this section desperately as after going through this process 3-4 times in an hour or so, I end up switching streaming apps to something smoother.

Worked for one week only

This streaming service is the most expensive of all services, with worst customer service I’ve encountered. I fortunately opted for a free monthly trial - so I can opt out. I viewed Foxtel though a smart TV with the app built in plus cast through Chromecast from my iPhone X. All worked well for one week and then I starting receiving a ‘PE8000’ error. No playback at all. I was also unable to steam anything from my smart tv. The worst part of the whole experience was the ‘customer service’ - all done by text message. Nothing was resolved. It was so frustrating. After two nights of texting - I’ve given up. It would be good to be able to speak to a human over the phone to troubleshoot. Shocking customer service and they don’t deserve my subscription fee. I’m glad they offered a free trial, so I could trial how incompetent they are. If you offer a product, make sure you deliver Foxtel.

For a company that’s been running for years I’m disappointed

I downloaded the app to watch legacies I was happy for the first 2 days. But I got annoyed at the ads as it’s 25 dollars a month. Where as, other streaming platforms have no ads, exclusive shows and is only 15 dollars a month. What could also improve this awful app is skip button/ a forward button and back. The screen never refreshes and my episode are not up to date and I have to got into episode and click the epesiode I’m actually on. Finally, I was on the 10 day subscription to try it out and I canceled it 3 days before it ended yet the 25 dollars was still charge from my bank account. This I obviously very frustrating and I’m mad that all the good shows are on this extremely rushed app.

I have been a customer for over 15 years and this Foxtel go app is the last in a long line of poor service from this company. I tried to chrome cast to the tv in my bedroom and there is no icon to click on, I looked it up on google, found other complaints and a so called solution from a Foxtel employee, so I tried alll the solutions and it still does not work with chrome cast. Well this is the last straw, I have put up with ads and poor service for years now and I really only have this subscription for the sport, well I can now get the sport on Kayo so I will be cancelling this poor service and will make sure everyone I know does not even consider using foxtel, you have no regard for your customers at all.

Ridiculous

So subscribers are told that the Foxtel Kids app is no longer accessible from 31st Jan. An app that has the download function available. However, the app we need to use now, Foxtel Go, does not have any download feature. Seriously? I don’t allow my 4yo to freely use the Internet on their own and prefer to only have a set selection of shows to watch. This is a sure fire way for me to cancel all together, especially when this is a premium service.
You can’t keep treating paying customers like this. You felt the pinch when Netflix came out so much so you had to buy them out to remain in a strangle hold over the Australian population. I’d prefer no tv rather than being taken advantage of.
Make sure you have your developers adding in the download feature next update otherwise you’ve going to have a lot of angry parents on your hands come 1-Feb.

Basically the same as Foxtel, but in your phone

I got Foxtel go after seeing ads on my Foxtel box saying it’s included in my subscription. So after setting up an ID with an issue that was my own fault. it works very well on 4G data although it uses a fair bit, but that’s to be expected. So far it’s better than Kayo if you have the money because it is easier to access live channels. Loads very fast even on lower end 4G connections.
I don’t know what people are complaining about!

Foxtel hates their customers

When I downloaded Foxtel now I saw all of the bad reviews about the ads and such, but I thought I’m a pretty patient person so it’ll be fine. NOPE. After missing one payment my account was suspended, fair enough. So I go online and pay it, then they take 3 seperate payments out of my account, 2 of which were unauthorised!!! So now even though they’ve taken more money than I owe for my service, I STILL cannot log on, and it’s still telling me my account is suspended.
Cut to me being passed around the ‘customer service’ team, having people tell me that there’s nothing they can do, contradicting information and basically being lied to. The app itself is one problem, the way Foxtel treats their customers is a totally different and larger problem. Considering you literally pay double the cost of other streaming sites, would highly recommend NOT even bothering which their service. Absolutely shocking.

I’m paying for ads?

Okay - I always swore that I would never subscribe to Foxtel but then it got to the last series of GOT, and I thought, I’ll give it a try. But then Foxtel decided to cut out Foxtel NOW and change everyone to Foxtel GO. I thought, okay, same thing, different delivery platform. I can go with that. But I also subscribe to Netflix for $14 a month. That’s $14 people!! No ads. I suspect that STAN would be the same. I have no experience with other streaming services so I can’t speak for them.
Now I have started to like some of the series on Foxtel but I have a serious problem paying for Foxtel to boost their not inconsiderable profits through advertising. You get ads on free to air - for nothing - why would I want to pay for it? I’m just saying ...
