Description
Using the MyAway app in Guest-tek enabled hotels allows you to pair your device to your hotel room’s TV. From your device, you then have full control of your in-room TV experience, including:
• TV remote control (Power, Volume, etc.).
• Navigate TV menus
• View the program guide
• Browse and purchase hotel movie content
MyAway is also World Radio enabled, so you are able to pick up your favourite stations no matter where you are.
You no longer have to wonder where to eat while you’re travelling; MyAway has made it even easier by providing you with a list of all the nearby restaurants
Connecting is easy:
1) Download the MyAway App
2) Pair your device with the rooms TV using the MyAway connect code.
3) Navigate and explore all the options on the OneView Media System
Once you’re connected you’ll have all this all in one place for your convenience:
• Weather information
• Restaurants, Banks, Tourist Location of many of listings available on the embedded, location aware map
• View your hotel folio
• Express Checkout
• View the hotel compendium
Make your travelling more familiar, and take MyAway with you wherever you go.

Didn’t mirror my phone
Stayed at The Star in Sydney and the App says you can mirror your phone, but the is no function for this in the App. So pretty much useless.

Does not work at all. Cannot screen mirror or use the AirPlay function. Don’t waste your time.

During my stay I had to download and link to the tv after every episode I watched and again if my phone got a phone call. It is absolutely awful

I was able to work the hotel remote on my iPad but wasn’t able to play movies from my iPad which was the reason I downloaded the app. I wasted about half an hour that I won’t get back

AVOID USE
We were a a 5 star hotel which told us to download this app to stream videos/movies we wanted to watch but it wasn’t working AT ALL which was very frustrating as we tried for a long time to try and get it to work.

This App does not work to stream ios
You can successfully connect ios to Hotel TV myMedia but you can’t connect via Airplay. If you are looking to stream from your phone. Don’t waste your time trying. 😒

Worked just fine
I downloaded used this app at the Star in Sydney and it took me about 90 seconds - simple and easy to use. Streamed Disney from my IPad no problems. It dropped off a few times when using UTube when the adds came on. Video was a bit choppy now and then

It simply doesn’t work
The Langham Hotels have this on their TVs and it says enter a code but there’s nowhere in the app to write a code.
That’s not to mention the UX and UI hot mess.
Hotels - sort this out. No one will pay $15 for a movie they have on their phone for free. Move on

They’ve conned a great hotel brand like The Langham into using this system - and the App simply fails. Can’t connect, won’t cast or stream. Will work to have Langham change systems. Very disappointing.

DO NOT USE
If your goal is to stream content, DO NOT USE THIS APP. Frankly, it is a frustrating mess and should be removed from the App Store.
Screen mirroring does not work on this app, plain and simple. I STRONGLY encourage any hotel business not to continue using this app on their TVs. To pay hundreds of dollars and not be able to stream content that has been paid for is a joke.
please delete this app off the App Store.

None of the functionality works; app, AirPlay or mirroring. Called Guesttek customer support who told me not to use the hotel Wi-Fi as that functionality is locked. Not sure where they were going with that! Should be easier to BYO device in a 5 star hotel. Would give 0 stars if it were possible.

Worst app for travel
Stayed at a Gold Coast hotel which asked us to down load this app to use our phone media. Nothing worked at all, across both mine and my husbands phone. Plenty of other options on offer to use Cromecast in hotels, this is the worst. We have stayed in 6 hotels in 3 weeks, this was the worst on offer

Once you have the app installed, if you want to stream, you use the MyAway TV that appears in screen mirroring. Unfortunately some apps (9Now & 10 Play) are idiots and assume your trying to ‘record’ so don’t allow mirroring, Netflix @ YouTube seem to work ok
Can’t give higher than three stars currently as not used it much and the hotel wifi is horrendous so massive lag.

Nothing about this works.
Trying to stream, but all it did was become another remote. When I had the actual TV remote in my hand.
