Like many of the EV charge companies everything is focused around Tesla plugs when there are other systems out there in hybrids . We have a Mitsubishi Outlander EV which is a “Chad mow” plug . Hervey Bay does not have one station for it yet Maryborough has two !!!!!!!!’

A must for road trips in Australia
Not essential around the cities, but once you hit the outback, and chargers become scarce, it is great. We used it to plan, read tips, check history, and contact users that are plugged in at 80%. It helped crossing the Nullarbor and exploring NW-WA. Hope there will be more chargers at, say, 200km intervals. Until then, please enjoy PlugShare and… do log-in.

Essential EV App if you are moving around.
First EV app that I downloaded after buying my EV. Saw a YouTube ep of someone crossing the Nullarbor a few years ago and they used it to find charging stations and leave reviews for other EV drivers.
It helped me navigate all the competing EV networks from Perth to Brisbane.
Just discovered the trip planning feature! What a time saver. I was doing this with pen and paper.

Great app, I love it but can’t sign in any more. Desktop browser works fine but iOS app doesn’t like me. Probably got broken with the recent iOS update.

A necessary evil
This app is unfortunately a necessary evil to EV ownership due to amassing a huge amount of data in the early days. The app/website are clunky, incorrect sites aren’t removed, some sites get locked down and names can’t be edited, and worse of all, all the crowdsourced data contributed for free by YOU, the users, is paywalled to any third party who want to access the data via API.

Hi. Love this app. First time planning a big trip and it was working great until I updated the app. Now when I move the map when editing a trip the app shuts down. This happens on an iPhone 17 and an iPhone 11. Please fix. Thanks

Proper Dark Mode Icon + Liquid Glass
I’ve been using this app for a while and the core features work well, but the interface is starting to feel outdated compared to the rest of the OS. It really needs to be updated with Liquid Glass support. It also needs a proper dark mode icon, not just a ‘darker’ icon.
Right now, the app feels flat and disconnected from the system's modern aesthetic. Adopting Liquid Glass would add that necessary depth and translucency, making the experience much more immersive and visually consistent with other premium apps. It’s a 5-star utility trapped in a legacy design. Hope to see this addressed in the next update!

Easy drive thru charge bays
Fast enough charging for us. Nice drive thru charging bays. Excellent. Identification of bays as A and B could be a lot clearer! Which chargers are 1 and 2 is very clear. The location in a shopping center carpark has advantages and disadvantages. The location is convenient to shops and services but at certain times of day, the access to the parking station can be very busy. It has some ridiculous entrances and exits and possibly the world’s smallest round-abouts. These are nothing to do with EV charging directly. It is a badly designed shopping center carpark.

A Buggy App
My wife and I are finding this app very buggy on both the iPhone and iPad. Checkins do not register. Checkout function disappears. Duplicate checkins from other users which indicates to us they have difficulty checking in and repeat trying with the resulting duplication. This app clearly needs more work by the dev team. Very average experience.

The app does t tell you who the provider is for a given charging station. You often have to download the app and set up an account whilst at the station- tedious and assuming you have good internet coverage to do so. We are planning a 1200+km trip at Christmas and using the “plan a trip” option has only been marginally helpful so far

Mandatory app for EV Drivers in Australia
PlugShare is an invaluable app for finding EV charging stations in Australia. There is no other app that brings the diverse information together about location, number of plugs and reliability. I always check PlugShare before planning a trip which uses new EV chargers as users leave comments about their experience and whether the charging station was actually in service. This is essential information when you travel to regional towns with only one charging station.

Very useful, specially for new EV owners.
This app was recommended to me by my mates who have EVs. It has been super helpful in helping me not only find compatible chargers with specs I’m looking for, but also getting an idea on how those chargers will be when I get there.
I would love to see in the future the ability to see a history of demand on the chargers that they get data on. I know this is a big ask so not expecting it but would love to see it if possible.

An integral part of my EV trips
PlugShare is my go to app to find local chargers and is extremely helpful for planning longer trips where I’m not familiar with the charging stations. I’m currently using PlugShare on my first 2000+kms trip. User comments about individual chargers are important and help me plan around chargers that aren’t working. It would be great if more people checked in and commented. Perhaps PlugShare could team up with charging networks and offer monthly prizes, such as a charging discount. PlugShare isn’t always accurate about charger availability or about my car’s projected charging time, which may affect the availability data.

Really useful information but what’s with the map zooming with one finger?
Great information about chargers near us and on longer distance routes. Check-ins help us pick chargers that are likely to be working. But… the map zooms when trying to pan using one finger. That makes using the map almost unusable as it’s completely at odds with Apple Maps navigation. Or am I missing something?

Predefined vehicles make specifications setting impossible
This looks like a great app, until you try to add a vehicle. You are presented with a long list of manufacturers and then models. If your vehicle is there, then you select it and should be all set to go. But you can't actually tell ...
Lets say you have a Hyundai IONIQ Elite MY22. You can't find that particular vehicle in the list, so you select the closest one. Australia has a Premium that has the same technical specs but a different trim. You can only find the 2021. Its not clear if thats the "model year" or the "build year". You select it. Is it correct? You cant tell. The actual technical details of the vehicle you have selected are not displayed.
Ok, well I know my vehicle specs, can I add a custom vehicle? Nope, no go. You'd have thought that this'd be a good way of collecting vehicle specifications, but no cant add your own and cant check to see if what you have selected is correct.
This problem wouldn't be too bad if the database was correct. Unfortunately the Hyundai listings have models that I've not seen in Australia and don't use the model identification (eg MY22, build year 2021) that I have seen.
How about you make the basic vehicle specifications visible so they can be checked and allow people to add their own custom vehicles? Then it'd be a great app.

Update has unimproved the app
Long term very satisfied user, but the latest update has some improvements but some fundamental problems. Main one is the checkin button. Now if you hit check in you get 3 options - charged successfully, could not charge or comment only. The only way to check in I think, is to leave a comment and then “check in” when you leave. Problem - people will be discouraged from checking in so it’s even harder to know if you’re heading for a charger thats in use, and less likely to be able to message people to get an estimate of the charge time they need

Where are so many of the missing ChargeFox/NRMA/QldElectrics?
Planning a trip with PlugShare is almost useless if you haven’t checked the chargers from Google Maps or the charger companies’ apps. Nothing to be seen on the Gold Coast, The Farm at Ewingsdale/Byron etc. Have they failed to pay PlugShare to be included? Don’t trust PlugShare, go to Googlemaps if nothing else.

Good, but needs more thought and development
I’m order to get closer to providing a charging experience for all males and models the CarPlay experience needs some work.
This app should absolutely include the ability to see if the charger is assumed to be available (based on check-in data) and the ability to check into a charger via the CarPlay experience. This would make it easy for people to check-in and then more likely to actually check-in which will provide your customers with more reliable information on if the charger is actually available or not.

Excellent Source of Information for charging locations
The PlugShare app provides the best information across all provides we have seen in the market. Information is validated by photographs to make it easier to find chargers. Comments on facilities around charges are also very useful.

The main reason I do not like this app is the lack of charge speed filters, the ability to hide “Customer Only” chargers or the option to set to Customer Only as that is different to Access restricted.

Trip planner is fantastic
We have a MG ZS EV with a range of 220kms, so planning charging stops on long trips is essential. Planning is made so easy by PlugShare. Great to be able to see all the EV chargers irrespective of providers, and great to read fellow motorists’ reviews and see their photos.

Best App for Finding Recharging Locations
As promised in my previous review, I’m giving this app five stars now it has CarPlay support. It would be useful if it automatically/continuously centred the map around your current location rather than having to click the current location arrow though.

The best EV charge point finder ever
I have used this app for over a year now and is the best I have found. The user reports are great and the photos help with finding the charger location. I thoroughly recommend this to any EV driver. I would love to be able to use it with CarPlay. Is it possible to do this?

The must have EV app.
PlugShare is perhaps the best app to have with your EV. It’s really easy to filter plugs that match your car, and find charging stations around you, with lots of community support providing information and reporting failed chargers. Trip planner feature is again invaluable, to find charging locations on your journey. Even if you don’t yet have an EV, this app is great at showing you just how dense the charging network is becoming, giving you more confidence to switch.

Really useful. Interface is good
Having just bought my first PHEV. I have no idea how to do anything other than charge at home.
This app is really helpful at getting my head around all the different stations and which which ones work for my car.
After selecting my car, it filters out the unusable stations. The photos and descriptions for each station are helpful for me whilst planning a road trip.

This is an amazing app .
Since the Australian Gov (as of 2020) are quite backward in it’s efforts to support renewable energy- this app is a life saver for people that can’t wait around for the government to set up a comprehensive charging network across Australia

Overall this app is perfect for ev owners
Easily find chargers that may not be visible from standard maps on your phone and get reviews and photos on each place. One problem I am having is that the some chargers do not appear on the map though they come back after a while

Handy but needs work
Great to have a single point of info on charge stations. I haven’t been able to set my home charger type correctly to Type 2. This doesn't seem to be an option.

If you have an EV, you absolutely need this. Find all the places to charge your car. And, if you happen upon a new charging point as the infrastructure expands, you can add details to share for others

Great app that could do with a few tweaks
Fantastic app, easy to use, but would love something where you could route properly, but other than that informative, quick and easy to use.

No CCS2 Option for Europe or Australia/NZ
Filters don’t match the plug options in the country the user in in. They are based only on the North American plug choices. Also all the plug icons like for supercharging are the North American plug but Europe and Australia/NZ use CCS2. Makes it difficult to know if a particular charging station will be compatible with my car.

Does what it says on the pack
If you’re an owner of an EV you can’t go wrong with this app. In most cases I’m finding it even supersedes apps for even Chargepoint as it gives you access to all available technologies in your immediate area.

Would be lost without this app.
There is no app I know of that does what this one does. Helps find car chargers anywhere. Mapping needs help but I use Google maps once I've found a charger so it works well for me.

Excellent app for EV OWNERS
If you own an electric vehicle you need this app. Easy to use and really useful for touring in your EV. Just be aware that you need an account to see all the information available and as it relies on member check ins the data quality can vary.
