Always drops out
Very convenient app but probably the worst app I have ever used. I can’t tell you how many times it buffers or just drops out and needs restarting. It is very annoying and with the bombardment of ads it makes it hard to keep using.

When travelling with minimal cellular coverage, the app drop outs which is expected, but then won’t resume itself upon returning to cellular coverage. It used to do this ok up until about a month ago. I now have to shut down and restart the app to continue

Suggestion for an Auto-Sync Feature for Live Sports
Hi,
I have a suggestion for a future update to the 2GB, 3AW, 4BC and 6PR apps.
Would it be possible to introduce an auto-sync feature that allows the radio commentary to automatically sync with live sports streaming services?
For example, listeners could sync the radio broadcast with:
NRL coverage on Kayo Sports or 9Now
AFL coverage on 7plus or Kayo Sports
This feature would allow fans to listen to the radio commentary while watching the game on TV or via streaming, without needing to manually pause or adjust the timing.
An automatic syncing option would make the experience much smoother and easier for listeners who prefer radio commentary but also want to watch the match live. It would greatly improve the overall listening and viewing experience when following NRL and AFL games.

Car play broken for a while now
Car play has been broken for a while now. You have to open the 2GB app first on the phone. Only then the car play app will work. Was not like this in the past. Please fix it for gods sake.

Terrible app. Jump in the car in the morning. You push the app to listen in, and you can’t. The app makes you physically enter your email address to login. Very inconvenient. Stopped using it, and switched to podcasts.

This app was ok for a while, but recently it makes me log back in regularly, and my username and password never autofill, which makes it very painful. I’ve now started using Radio App instead to listen to 2GB. Much easier.

Good content, poor performance
This is not a review of the content, but of the App’s performance.
The layout, ease of navigation and audio quality are generally good. However, the app has an unfortunate glitch where it unexpectedly shuts down, particularly when listening to a highlight of a show. It’s very frustrating when listening to a highlight to have it crash about three minutes in. This has been a persistent issue despite updates.

Difficult in car experience
Great app for listening to live radio whilst driving, however with Apple CarPlay I need to continually login via the phone to use. Which unless I remember to do before driving off means I have to pull over, park, get out and start the app on the phone the get back in, plug the phone back in and then drive off just to listen to live radio.

Great but, no good for competitions
Very good crystal clear sound instead of AM radio, great shows.
Very poor app performance via CarPlay, you have to stop and access your phone to open app or it does not play, the last update did not fix the issue, I usually end up listening to something else if I forget to open app before I start driving.

CarPlay Functionality is Poor
I am only rating this app 2 stars purely as a reflection of the app itself, not the content of the shows etc.
I spend an extended amount of time in and out of my vehicle multiple times throughout the day and I prefer to listen to the app due to reception issues on the central coast etc, when using CarPlay every other application works seamlessly, but I have to pull over and ‘log in’ to the 2GB app daily, if not multiple times a day.
Why is that necessary? Every app other than a banking app leaves you logged in. Extremely poor user interface in that regard, they have also seemingly removed the option (at least in CarPlay) to hear the latest News update.
Increasingly I find myself using other music and entertainment apps in the car as a result of there incessant need to have you log in each and every time.

New 2GB app continuously logs out of the account holders profile. This is very challenging when using the app via Apple CarPlay. It requires accessing the iPhone app and logging back in, however when pressing the “log in” icon no credentials required.

I have noticed over the last period of time, time calls are not given during the day by presenters.
Probably they think everybody has a phone or a watch. However when you are busy, rushing to catch transport or simply engrossed in your activity, time is important and the time given over the radio is most helpful. So, Ben and others how about the TIME please.

Too many ads
Be sure to open the app well before the hour if you want to listen to the news. The app takes 30 seconds to search for, and then load, an ad. Then, once it’s played the loading ad, you then find yourself at the start or middle of the regular program ads. Once that’s all completed, the radio program starts.

Rev Crews could well have his heart in the right place, but, please could he have some guidance into how to manage a talk back program. He asks for ideas from his audience, they phone in , he then ……answers with his thoughts and over talks them before they can even express a full opinion. Honestly It’s the only time l have to turn 2GB off. Please give this man time off to learn how to run a smooth program like his colleagues on your Station. I enjoy Talk Back but it needs to be an exchange of an Ideas rather than a caller who can’t get a word in. Michael McLaren, John Stanley and so many others in your Stable are such a pleasure to listen too. They are “thinkers” who are even keen to hear the other side of a subject. Having lived in Sydney since 1987, we’ve listened to either 2UE or 2GB all that time. We have now moved to Toowoomba and still wake up with the Sydney news because of the stable of commentators. So professional, except perhaps for Bill Crews who implores listeners to ring in but puts few to air. Our fave is John Stanley. Keep up the great work team.

Great BUT there seems an error when you rehear the last 10 seconds and then drops you back into the live transmission. It occurs at ad hoc times for no apparent reason and is annoying because you lose a portion of the conversation.

Streaming ‘pre-ads’

Connectivity when driving
When using 2GB via CarPlay and you pass a mobile black spot, if the 2GB app drops out and reconnects you are served up an ad again. It’s very frustrating when driving in regional areas. I wish it would recognise when you have logged on in the last hour or so and limit the ads.

I often go to the app to hear something instantly but miss it due to being forced to listen to an ad first.

Media blocking so much these days that we don’t get all the right info anymore. Hence we start looking for alternative independent media. The 2GB so is my saviour. I live in Brisbane and the quality of presentation and content delivered by 4BC is abysmal. Sydney is far superior so the ap lets me listen - weather reports can catch you out at times but a little obstacle to overcome to be able to avoid the empty nonsense and music nostalgia delivered by the once wonderful station 4BC that still promotes itself as news and talk - I WISH!

Not keen on changes to format
Some excellent presenters, Ben Fordham, Mike McLaren etc. But way too much sport now, and very disappointed the 3 hrs of gardening show has been cut to 2. We should all be learning to grow our own food, and gardening is good for the soul. How is there not time for 3 hrs on 2 days of the week? I often tune in on the hour to catch the news and an ad is played before tuning into the live feed, which causes me to miss the first news item. Very frustrating! I like a lot of others feel beaten to death by the ads, and as I have read, when you’re app drops out to reconnect you cop an ad, which you then miss the content. And the fact that you have six ads in the news break which causes it run by 10 minutes .
Please 9 drop off the ads. Ben continually tells us to ring, but now seems to only take 2 or 3 calls.

I’m another 4BC refugee.
I haven’t listen to that station since they replaced Neil Breen’s breakfast show with The Three Stooges. They are so awful and sound like 90% of all the other breakfast shows that require three people to present a programme (Nice way to treat loyal listeners.)
Queensland’s Labor government must be delighted in no longer having a radio station that holds them to account. I think that now more than ever our politicians need to be answerable to their voters and a genuine ‘news talk’ station would know that the breakfast programme is the ideal slot for this.
Oh yeah, and 4BC newsreaders are awful, too. With the exception of Steve Barker!

Going Backwards
When using TuneIn app listening to 2GB I was able to save portions to listen later, if someone was at the door I could pause the livestream, and if I missed anything , like an advertisers name or details, I could rewind . Now we are forced to use the 2GB app and none of these features are provided. If you wanted us to use the 2GB app, at least give us the features we were used to while using TuneIn.

Listening to Ben Fordham this morning with the NSW premier was quite disappointing. He seemed to be looking for a gotcha moment. I think the Premier did quite well in presenting his case.

I have been listening to Radio 4BC for 15 years since taking Neil Breen off breakfast radio I now listen to Ben on 2GB 4BC radio now has 3 people doing a job that Neil did on his own. 2GB Is Tops
I have listened to 2GB for many years and been privileged to be interviewed by Ben in supporting Dying With Dignity in relation to a past family member.
In summary I value all the presenters’ knowledge and research, willingness to hear all audience opinions, up to date news...particularly international affairs and Australia’s security status in relation to China.
2GB has been a distraction and comforting voice after the passing of my dear husband when loneliness and silence threatened to engulf me during covid....thankfully I am 21 months down that path and feeling stronger!
Thanks in particular to Chris, Ray and Ben!

2GB Garden Clinic
Love listening to 2GB on my mobile every weekend to Graham Ross on the Garden Clinic his show is very informative , interesting and he’s a lovely person!
I wish his show reverted back to the original 3 hours as two just isn’t enough! The Garden Clinic has been broadcasted for nearly 40 years that shows how much it’s loved by so many 🌺

I love live radio, Ray Hadley and Chris Smith are phenomenal and true journalists, not afraid to tell it like it is,Ben is a bit soppy and into being too softly softly to be a great journalist but I suppose a lot of the woke folk and bleeding hearts would like him and we do have to hear them too to get a balanced view and it gives me a chance to tell the radio (what a lot of ——)…

App can be tricky to use at times
If I’m listening to Ben FORDHAM show and flick through the highlights section and click on one - it automatically defaults to showing video footage from the show and you have to close out of it every time. Also - the ads in every intro on the highlights are just annoying and put you off. If you’re already listening to the show via the app - you’ve probably already heard the Bing Lee add 12 times.

Unreliable drop outs
Enjoy the station have been a listener for many years but since the new conditions with joining to listen, the app is very unreliable and drops out unexpectedly, and than have to listen to an add over and over each time after reconnecting, surely they could improve the overall performance of the app. Thought it might have been my internet connection but it is working fine. I also tested with other Sydney stations apps and they seem to work fine. What is going on with 2GB!!!

Firstly I love listening to 2GB. Especially the Continuous Call Team.!
The phone app is mostly very useful however can be a bit clunky in terms of consistency of connection. It probably needs an update.

2GB keep me informed on what is happening in the world ❤️ my only criticism is a message to Ben Fordham, Ben “less is more”, commercial overload ! missing interviews of substance, poor Ben it seems he is pressured by time allowed when speaking on any subject, just touching the surface, nothing in depth 😔anyway his media journey is still progressing, a young man learning every day, just like me at age 75 😁 🙏🏽

I’m so happy I can stream your radio shows. I moved to GC QLD 4 yrs ago. And thankfully I can hear my favourite radio shows
I agree with others. . That pause feature s not available
. It was very useful to use…. Im also finding it’s not dropping out now. Thank goodness. That was a real pain

The Ads are annoying
The ads are super annoying and delay the stream from being live. It’s always a 2-5second delay. When the app is the only option to listen to the show, being delayed is annoying.

There is no wonder why 2GB has been the number 1 rating radio station for such a long time, John and his Team were fantastic when it came to listening to my concern about my over extended home isolation and they did everything they could to resolve the issue for me, Matt also in particular told me that if I ever needed anything or needed to talk to give him a call at the station, Thank You so much guys from myself and my entire family we really appreciate your help.

Ok but
Ben seems to contradict himself quite a bit and seems to align himself at time’s with The Project, I know he doesn’t like upsetting Lisa or her loopy Husband while they drive their Woke agenda, a few splinters in his .... I would say. I still enjoy his show but work my colleagues are onto it.
Ray calls it how it is and doesn’t pander to anyone. Deb show has improved, and Jim just wants jabs in arms, 50 times an afternoon. The best is Luke Grant, sense of humour and show he did with Joe, well that was best and enjoyable few hours I have heard. I know I don’t have to worry about Ray or Luke, but sometimes the rest need to ask the Greens and Labor real questions and don’t let them change subject. Anyway not much else to listen too

Very difficult to sign up to the new 2GB APP
Who was the bright spark who thought it was a good idea to make loyal listeners sign up to listen to 2GB I am pretty good with technology but to make people sign up is in my opinion very difficult and not worth the effort
There are plenty of other radio stations who make it easy to listen too
All I want to do is listen to the radio on my Iphone every day for the last 20 years
I have tried 3 times to sign up each time it hasn’t worked
You need to fix this problem

Tune in or Tune Out
A disappointing departure from Tune In Radio Live Stream No Longer Available, sees the 2GB App unable to offer basic Pause, Rewind and Fast Forward Features as well as a Sleep Functionality. Annoying to say the least as these features were handy if for some reason you had to momentarily leave the program to do something else means you could Rewind the Stream up to 30mins or even as little as 15 Seconds in case you missed an important point. Not sure why 2GB left Tune In Radio along with affiliates 3AW & 4BC or have failed to make the above basic features available, which overwhelmingly The Listeners Want…

We live on a property South if Goulburn always put 2GB on my phone started using app as radio is hopeless getting a signal love 2GB app and it isn’t dropping out like it was in the radio app I had so I’m love the fact it’s not stopping and starting every couple of minutes

Review of 2GB programmes
I live in Queensland, yet listen to 2GB.
Ben is great but can be a little repetitive. He lacks fight and argument when interviewing politicians. He regularly talks to the politicians about what should be implemented or changed but he rarely challenges their lack of intellectual response or problem solving abilities.
Ray is awesome. Always has his finger on the pulse and is never frightened to push the point on behalf of the people.
I can’t listen to Deb Knight anymore. She talks too fast and skips from one topic to another without exploring any tangible outcomes.
I love Chris Smith. He has a well rounded and passionate programme that I look forward to every weekend.
Graham Ross is my hero as he is a kind, friendly and patient person. His is the most informative person who gives everyone great joy.

Great station!
I love listening to 2GB. I like all the presenters and enjoy the information I learn. It’s the best talkback station. People shouldn’t be so resentful about the adds. They’re a necessary part of business so a little understanding would go a long way.

Inferior to previous version
When closing news stories after reading, the new app returns you to the beginning every time (first news story). Then you have to scroll through again to get back to where you were. Very tedious.
As for the latest comperes, they lack substance and conviction. No one really has a strong opinion on anything. Deb is nice but comes across as a firm but fair kindy teacher, and Jim Wilson is a full blown lefty who has somehow landed a job on a conservative radio station. Why? The news is now ratcheting to the left now too. I’ve been tuning into other stations for the first time ever, as are many others I know. Don’t forget who your audience is.
