Description

Take a tour of the mysterious Red Planet. This virtual globe combines a high-resolution satellite map with laser altimeter data and advanced topographic lighting to present the planet Mars as it appears from above. An Introduction and Guided Tour present some of Mars' most intriguing features. You can leave the guided tour and explore Mars as you like; over 1500 surface features have been annotated with information and links. Mars Globe HD is a must-have app for anyone interested in our solar system.
PLEASE NOTE: Regular Mars Globe is a smaller download and is free. This HD version has slightly, not extremely, better resolution and rendering.

A must-have for Mars lovers

A virtual Mars globe with toggle-able photorealistic and topographic display, complete with adjustable lighting and guided tour. Sure, you can see more detailed patches in Google Mars, but this app lets you feel like you have a perfectly formed miniature planet in your pocket. And it's a joy to operate.

Virtual Orbit

This app seems to put me in orbit above Mars.
I like to zoom in, slide the viewing window to the horizon, & slowly rotate the planet, so that I seem to be looking through the window of a space craft.
I expect that it's the closest that I'll ever get to the surface of Mars in this life-time.
Thank you.

Meh

Waste of money. It's pretty but that's about it. Google Maps: Mars has higher resolution maps and a much more extensive list of locations. Use the free version of this or the Google version and go buy a coffee instead.

Incredible.......

Dude. How about hooking us up with some other planets? You owe it to yourself.... Your apps are nothing short of awesome. Thanks for letting me hold mars in my hands. What a spectacular app. Hope you continue to improve..

Astonishingly gorgeous!

This has been one of my all time favorites on the iPhone, and I am immensely pleased that it is now available on the iPad. Astonishingly beautiful and extremely clever in it's use of the available computing power, it transports you to the Red Planet directly from your armchair. Very highly recommended to anyone remotely interested in what's out there!
