Description

A database of over 8000 paints from 28 manufacturers designed for modellers and artists.
Whether you paint or model aircraft, ships, railway, cars, trucks, boats, figures, wargames (in fact anything!) this database is for you.

You can turn each manufacturer and range (e.g. Humbrol enamel) on or off at any time so that you see only the lists you want. You can save your own views so that you can set the lists you want to see and the order you want to see them quickly.
You can see details of each paint plus equivalent colours from all the included ranges. Or you can select to see equivalents from only the ranges you have switched on, the same medium or the same finish.
You can search across all the paints by colour, name, code, manufacturer, finish (e.g. gloss, matt), paint type (e.g. acrylic, enamel) and paints you have in stock.
You can create your own lists from any paints in the database. You can lock the lists (to save accidental changes) and these lists can be set as stock lists (you have these paints).
You can make notes against the list itself or the individual colours and you can sort the lists and colours any way you want.
Paints you have added to any of your stock lists are indicated in the ranges, the equivalents and the search results so you can see what paints you have when you do a search. Saves a lot of wasted money buying the same colours twice and handy when you go shopping (you can have a shopping list too)!
An invaluable reference database for any artist or modeller.

Great idea but poor app

Love the idea but unfortunately the app is almost useless:
1. Can't move between screens
2. Colors added to lists are not linked - you have to manually go back & search for them to view color.
3. The reference for similar colors is not thorough.
4. The collection tool in terms of what you have in stock is almost non existent & difficult to use.
The database is a great idea but would need a lot more development before charging money for this app.
I would've been happy to contribute development feedback if the app was free but not charging me $2.49 & still require loads more development.
Disappointing guys, hope you can improve or refund me.

Great resource for modellers

For years I've relied on the Humbrol paint chart that has a great cross reference chart, now I have the same resource on the iPhone.
I like the lists feature, so that for example if you build a lot of RAF aircraft, you can list all the colours you'd use, e.g. Humbrol 96 RAF Uniform Blue etc.
You can turn off ranges you never use to make searching easier.
The ability to match a colour looks good although I haven't use it yet.
A few suggestions - make lists shareable, so for example if I was planning to build a Luftwaffe Bf-109 and didn't know the colours I was after I could download a public list of colours I'd need.
Use the camera - take a picture of a colour say in a photo etc and match that colour in the app. That'd be good.
A "shopping" list that I could tag colours I'm short of and take it with me to the hobby store.

Great App for Modellers!

I downloaded this app because I was getting back into modelling once again, I found it extremely handy when at the shop and I cant find the colors or brands im after, the app offers alternative options for paints. I can also make my own list of stock of paints I have or paints I need to buy. Great app!
