Tech support failures

Moved house 5 days ago, iQ 5 not activating. Scan the QR code, iQ stuck on fault screen, text the number with message Activate, get told will be fixed by midnight. Next day sit down around 6pm, still not working, text again. Told there is a tech issue and it’s been escalated, thanked me for contacting and have a nice day 😳. Try again today, still not working..use chat service, told there is a tech issue - again, and will be fixed and working within 3-4 hours. And guess what after 4 hrs still not working with the same error message!!!! And of course I’m being charged for a service I can’t use!!!!!

My Foxtel app is awful

I use to be able to series link free to air stations. For what reason I have manually record the stations where I can usually only manually record the free to air stations for 5 days then it says program not available. On the app it doesn’t have the free to air stations & what the show is on. It has gone backwards the app.

Glitchy and intermittent

The app every few months goes offers-line overnight for update. Weekly there are times when channels doesn’t look in the guide so cant see whats on or change to that channel. Occurs enough to be annoying.
But, its all foxtel users have, so cant do without it.

Remote recording or not

I used to be able to remotely set recordings for all the channels I have on my set top but I now can’t see the HD and UHD channels in the channel guide. I contacted Foxtel and they said they it was not their problem but the apps. So come on now and get it fixed.

Just too many annoyances to ear it higher

Have had Foxtel for years, but of late had increased Blue Screen issues, now a F15 message stopping recording of programs. They have sent replacement units, but the problems keep occurring. If not for the wide range of viewing needs at our house, would have dropped this in the last year.

There is no way to get in touch with anyone, but the TV guide only has one channel viewable. And yes, I’ve selected ‘all channels’ aka the only button.

Sick of green screen and 3 hr lag on Channel guide

Tried all suggested fixes for 3 hour lag on channel guide - nothing fixes it. No phone support available to me as an App only user - just redirected to online assistant - who are useless. No issues with internet yet told to connect to my phone hotspot instead which didn’t work anyway??? Sick of seeing green screen Ad breaks rather than sport channels - am so over Foxtel…

Over the Past few Years this App slowly been removing Channels from the List, especially Fox Sports Channels. Can not Record UHD Fox Sports Programs and can not Record any Sports in HD either. Means the Quality is Shocking. This App needs a Major to Reinstate these Previously available options and Channels.

TV Guide Screwed

The TV guide part of this app no longer includes any reference to the Sports Channels. In the Lifestyle etc section I can see the “+2hrs” channels but not the original screen times. Does anyone ever test anything before it’s put out there ?

Its a dead app…

The app is finally dead, after years of having the same succession home screen the app has mow started to fall apart, I guess like foxtel itself, the one thing the still have a hand on (Sport) is now removed from the guide. The live channels that you actually need the guide for are no longer included in this “guide”

Channels missing

Spoke to Foxtel tech support about this issue with channels missing. I had contacted them before via chat but nothing happened. Phone support advised that you have to be logged into the myfoxtel app to view all the channels. I normally use this app without logging in, so I didn’t realise this. Glad there is a fix.

Incomplete TV guide.

The second sentence in the app’s description reads along the lines of “We are dedicated to providing an enhanced experience”.
Disappointed to see that this is just a spiel.
Over the past couple of weeks they have dropped, History, Discovery one, and Docos. And That’s just what I have noticed.
Also they dropped ABC and SBS a few months ago.
So how about honouring your statement and monitor and update you tv guide.

App needs an upgrade

We recently upgraded from iQ2 to iQ5 and our subscription to HD channels is now missing from My Foxtel app. We have reported the issue to Foxtel technical staff but more than six months on and the issue hasn’t been fixed. 8 months since this app has been updated, says a lot about Foxtel. App has now been updated but sadly, the issue of subscribed HD channels are not available in My Foxtel app. I’ll be deleting My Foxtel app since it’s useless to me without HD channels.

Menu Functionality

I’ve had Foxtel for years, I generally like it. It’s a little expensive and some of the shows are old but the sports coverage is good. The menu interface on the telly where you choose your programming options is farcically slow. This is one thing they need to improve on big time.

It’s still won’t display all the HD & 4K channels

After waiting for an update to issue the issue that everyone is having in that it won’t show any of the HD or 4K channels, the latest update has done nothing to address this issue. I can only see the 4K Ultra movie channel but none of the others. It shows only the SD sports channels, which I would never watch now and none of the HD options.
For what we pay for Foxtel this is terrible service. I used to used this app almost everyday years ago to find and record programs and now it’s useless. Why can’t this be fixed. Shame on you Foxtel.

Getting too expensive and pushing back maintenance to Custumers

Not sure what other users are thinking but Foxtel is getting to be a very expensive option. I received a notice that I am going to be responsible for the dish etc while also planning price increases.
I have been thinking of cancelling as a mix of other platforms would be much cheaper for me.

Fix the dumbest oversight in Foxtel history! When Live Sport Gets delayed I need the App to update live!!! So I can record the show!!! How hard can it be!!! And wow!! The App hasn’t been updated for over 9 months!! What an embarrassment !! And where is the 4K NRL which you spruik on all your Advertising yet it isn’t available on this App nor on your Setup boxes apart from once every now and then. I’m coming after you in the courts!! Foxtel are a scam!

Rubbish Service

We pay close to top dollar for the privilege. More than 12 months ago I advised Foxtel the guide on MyFoxtel was no longer working as it should; the HD Channel section was only showing 2 channels - and still is. I spent several weeks speaking with Foxtel to no avail., and then they simply gave up on me. I live with the issue but now rarely use the app. because of this issue. Such a shame the company do not want to deal with my problem, small though it may seem to others. One of these days I’ll tell them to stick it. I cannot recommend the service to anyone.

New upgrade.

Since the forced upgrade, most of my menu items are not illuminated so are extremely hard to read, recordings are constantly faulty, and channels randomly shown as ‘locked’ when they are not. This problem prevents access to recording preferences, like extending recordings in case of program over-runs. Local free-to-air programs that are included on the menu, often come from the other side of the country, so local news…isn’t! Whilst I appreciate some of the additional content, I’d rather have a system that actually works.

Amount of ads is horrendous

The frequency and duration of ads on Foxtel is atrocious. It’s equally as bad as free-to-air television but, in this case, we’re paying through the nose to have ads forced down our throats. To make matters worse, ads have now started bombarding us when we choose a new series to watch or select Continue Watching. You can’t do anything without being forced to watch ads and there is no way of opting out of this force-feeding.

Cannot setup reminders, not recording, i.e. ep 2 & 3 (out of 6), if episode 4 is about to show, but I can setup and record episode 1, (and 4,5 & 6), odd, very odd !! ??

Where have all the channels gone?

Just updated the app and many of the FTA channels are no longer available. This really makes it hard to use the app as your choices are reduced.
I also think that the channel numbers should be included so that you can see where you’re up to (many of us know the channel identifiers and tend to look for those rather than channel names).
The app wasn’t the best to start with, and now it’s simply getting worse.

International Cricket Fixtures

I appreciate the cricket coverage that Foxtel provides. I realise that the Ashes series is unavailable to Foxtel, but feel like you need to provide more international cricket coverage over the coming months, apart from the Vitality Blast.
There is a series between Afghanistan and Bangladesh that would be great to watch. When I contacted Foxtel about it, the reply I got said that it was “unavailable”. I’m not sure what that can possibly mean apart from thinking that you are not prepared to pay for it. There have been quite a few international fixtures that have been overlooked in the recent past, and it’s even more disappointing to find that Kayo seems to have extra content.
My daughter and I continually find that we get a “content unavailable” message in the middle of the night and it leaves us unable to stream anything. We follow the instructions on the Foxtel help page, but it doesn’t work. Probably because there’s nothing actually wrong at our end, but you are just offline. Which is annoying for shift workers.
So all in all I would have to say that Foxtel could do better.

Hard to read TV program

1. Text too small & my iPhone won’t enlarge with two finger gesture.
2. White txt on black not clear to read compared to plain black on white (as typed) - fancy looks but useless in practice,
3. Too much surrounding unused blank space so that there are too few entries / info on a given page.
4. Top & bottom banners take up too much of useful screen acreage.

I am starting to feel better, thank you for not continuing to ring me about my overdue account. I have been without the special channels and I seemed to cope ok. I am sure that fee was not the correct amount and on and off I am having the same old trouble with the tv guide, no home page and unable to put movies hold to watch another. Time, Not on record. Continue to have massive problems!!! Change set top box 6 moths ago and still same issues.
Have huge trouble logging in and need to consistently reset the box. Mobile App on iPad and iPhone work fine.
Trying to contact Foxtel is like pulling teeth!!! Will be cancelling service and trying Kayo, or something else.
It’s a disgrace!! Have a call centre where you can actually speak to someone and get things sorted. Worse than Telstra, so that’s saying something!!

Channel changing

While this App is fun and provides amusement beyond using the remote. My only gripe is to do with the HD channel switching and why Foxtel haven’t made it work properly over the past few years? If you’re in the app these days and switch to what is labelled an HD channel, it takes you to the the non HD channel. But if you search for the program and select the non HD channel, it takes you to the HD channel! So stupid 🤪

Over the last year or so, free to air channels have been disappearing from this app. Even after selecting “All Channels” we still can’t get them to show on the TV guide.
My wife is blind and has been relying on this app the change to the free to air channels on our IQ4, in fact we only upgraded so she could access more of Foxtel’s functionality. But with the battery hungry voice remote we have chosen to return to the My Foxtel app for her to navigate the Foxtel channels.
Could all the available channels be added during the next update? It would be even more helpful that more VoiceOver functionality was added also.

A Gold Service That Could Be Platinum

Been a very long-time customer of Fox. Sports crazy bloke - main choice of viewing. Record almost everything!!
With other sport offerings / subscriptions now popping up from competitors it will be interesting to see if Fox can step up its game to improve service and deliver a much needed better user experience. This is will have an impact on retention rates and minimize churn of its long term customers.
One massive fault of the service is when a recording of a show ends at it’s allocated time slot. As often is the case with sport, the end comes after the allocated time slot on the guide. When you make time to sit down and watch the recording, the end can be missing. If it’s a sporting contest, that its soul destroying; to discover a game I have selected to record has its end missing. This happens far too often. It’s something that just should not, given the technology available to casters. Should it be up to me to have to extend the recording of every show on Fox by 30 mins??
Here in lies an opportunity for a Gold level service to elevate itself into one of Platinum status. A little optimization needed to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction!

Making it easier.

I am someone who has a disability so I find using some of the more advanced features of some these applications & basic features, when it comes to finding the information I want it needs to be clear where I can find it & the font size needs to be the same size as everything else on the device being used automatically, even when doing a review, if there was someone who was able held find information for someone who has a problem or disability. Another thing is there needs to be more options for everyone when the cable network goes offline, like using a mobile network to provide service to people who cannot get or do not want to have a satellite service at a cost that is about the as a that or a cable service.

Unsatisfactory

There is nothing much to watch and even if u wanted to watch an old old movie yo charge $4-6 dollars why don’t u charge $2 per movie then u might see a big difference .. I really think you over charge for what we get and on top of that the dam adds , commercials is out of control, don’t get me started on the paid per view if u charge $40 instead of &60 I think u might have a lot more people ordering it. Seriously u really need to look after your customers..

My Foxtel app is top of the range

Compared to other tv apps this Foxtel app has everything you need and much more. They provide everything in one including customer service and support, billing, TV guide, rewards for loyal customers at no extra charge and upgrading pkgs to booking technical support.
Thank You Foxtel for finally getting your app right to supply and support your customers.
Only thing that needs upgrade is live chat bcoz it still needs much more improvements. Minimal compared to the 99% balance of your app, services information rewards account and customer support service very very good!! 😊😊😊

Difficult to get small problems fixed

Hello
I been emailing / phoning since July 2020.
To obtain a second remote for my second Foxtel box. When the two new boxes were installed, the installer took the two old boxes and two old remotes and one new remote by accident. I have been trying to get a second remote ( like one for each box that I am suppose to have ) for almost two years now.
Foxtel sends me to Telstra and Telstra to Foxtel, so I don’t use my Foxtel in my tv room as I still don’t have a remote yet for box 2.
Yet I been paying for two boxes fully each month, could anyone from either company sort it out and send me another remote.
I rung so many times I give up. It is no wonder most of my friends are simply dumping Foxtel altogether, and just using Netflix and Stan
No remote control issues there !
Maybe finally someone in one organisation could sort it out snd post me one
Such a small thing, such big impact on your customers, help if you can, please help me.
I’m out of contract with Foxtel, so I’m only really trying to get someone to do fix this small problem which seems in the labyrinth of unnecessary business process, some times involving two countries in the Asia pacific on the phone, it still goes unresolved,

New Foxtel app giving me RSI

In trying to record programmes on my iPad I don’t like this new app at all. When wanting to record a programme, who in their right mind would design an app making the user 1) click on the left of the bottom bar for the TV guide, then 2) go to top right corner of the screen for the search icon, then 3) go to top left to type in the programme name, then 4) go to bottom right of screen to click search.
Please redesign or bring back old ‘user friendly’ app.

SETTINGS?

It would be useful to be able to set the app to open by default to the TV Guide rather than the Home Screen (of unchanging adverts), and to see the program description without having to page down. Apart from these minor quibbles, the app is works well and is very useful.

Issues with Guide and Bot responses

Was required to download My Foxtel App this week when I opened my Foxtel Guide app as Foxtel as the developer required this and the Guide app was no longer working.
However free to air channels were not included in the My Foxtel Guide and when I attempted to notify and query the reason, the virtual guide and Bot said I was being transferred to a real person “in a few moments” and then I waited for 11 minutes with no success. Forced to use IQ4 to initiate Record free to air channel.

Unacceptable

Foxtel is quick to take your money but Customer Service is so slow and bad that it’s totally unacceptable!
It bus so hard trying to get into a real person - they direct you to their website and this Apo and after waiting on the phone you are then told they have ‘closed’ for the day and to call back the next day .
Twice I was prompted by the automated service to pay my Bill and punch in my credit card details, only to be told the next day that payment has not been received .
Such a huge waste of time and frustration.

Foxtel is awesome

I love how Foxtel is like free to air TV - there are shows you can watch weekly and I love how the commercials most of the time are of other shows. So you are always up to speed with what is coming up, or when your show is returning after it’s hiatus. I also have two other streaming services and unless I know what I want to watch I have to sit there and scroll through heaps of shows to pick something to watch.

Don’t bother

I have been using the My Foxtel app for many years. It use to be fantastic, a few bugs here and there but mainly still worked. Now it constantly plays up!! It’s very glitchy and I’m not seeing any Improvements with the updates coming through.
I will often go in to view the guide grid to see what’s playing on all channels and it comes up blank and I have to restart the app to be able to do this.
I constantly have to sign in and out to be able to search for FTA programs and sometimes even programs on Foxtel when using the search feature on the app.
If you have satellite you can’t remote record any of the channels you are receiving through the antenna direct to your Foxtel box or view what’s playing on those channels through the app, it must be done manually.

Very great full

During these bad times during Covid 19 your staff have been so nice in helping me through this. Being in and out of employment has been very hard. But you know Foxtel has got me through it. Just knowing my favourite shows will always be there and all new programs as well, there was a lady in the Loyalty section was so nice to me and helped to stay on a discounted plan.

Home phone

Ever since I first connected Foxtel nbn our home phone has never been reliable with it being out of operation more than a functioning home phone. We no longer give people our home phone number because most people tell us that they can never get on. At one point we thought it might have been our phone so we purchased a new phone which didn’t work any better.
Good luck trying to get Foxtel to help, they just take your money.

Try and change your account - Forget it

Super disappointed with Foxtel right now and seriously thinking of leaving it altogether
Logged onto website to see if I could get better deal than the $83 it’s costing me a month for 2 normal boxes not even IQ and click on the change my plan - it comes up with “That didn’t go through, can you try again!” Tried it 5 times and gave up. Downloaded the app and thought that might be better .... 🤦‍♀️
First log in it crashed. When I did get through and tried to change my package off the BIG link they have like on the website, same thing... “That didn’t go through, can you try again!”

My foxtel app

App used to be great until I had to upgrade to the iq3 box now I can’t use the record function on the my foxtel app to record free to air channels none of the channel numbers match up with the iq3 just keeps saying recording request failed, not to mention the TV guide on the my foxtel app is completely different to what’s actually on the set top box as in all the channel numbers are different on the my foxtel app to the iq3 box spoken to foxtel countless times and no one can fix the issue!!! Not happy at all

Lacks useful functionality

This app lacks functionality. In addition to allowing remote record set, it really needs a my recording schedule view so you can see what you have already set up for recording. It should also allow you to edit the record schedule list to avoid doubling up & too many simultaneous recordings. The app developers should take a look at Fetch Mobi to get an idea of what works well and what is possible.

New user - stunned at how backward app and Foxtel usability is in general

I am stunned at how basic the Foxtel interface is in general.
Apparently I can record shows on the app, but can’t see what/if I’ve already recorded - what the?
Foxtel has lost so many customers. I don’t believe it’s just economics. They don’t listen to people - look at the ratings for their apps.
They should look at apps like IceTV to see how people can program what they want to record. Match it with a Beyonwiz set top box and you can do just about anything. I’ve run this system in tandem for around 20 years and it’s so superior to foxtel. It is centred on making the customer experience the best it can be. Nb it’s only FTA channels. There may be similar systems out there; I can only speak for the one I use.
Foxtel appears more interested in promoting shows (do they get paid for each account which records/watches?) than in improving the customer experience, which encompasses so many other aspects.
I offered to be on focus group if they have them, but my suggestion was ignored.
Improve the customer experience and they will come........

Rubbish Ap

Expected a lot better from Foxtel and their app is continuing to decline in ratings.
The Remind Me option nor the Record option work, regardless of ensuring I’ve got the latest version and countless times of closing the app and reopening it. I’ve also logged in and out numerous times with no avail. Searching shows is a nightmare too when it continually comes up as no search results found (if you don’t type it exactly as its written). No wonder this company is continuing to lose members with other streaming options on the market!!! Get the basics right!!!

Major bugs

Have used this app for years and the same bugs have been a major problem with no improvements at all over multiple updates, one major bug is that the “change channel” option works 10% of the time and thats being kind. The amount we pay for the service you would expect they would be able to make a reliable app.
Also in regards to your email, it has nothing to do with my account it’s the app! The app has many many bugs and the fact that pretty much everyone is experiencing the same problems and you only have a 1 star rating would suggest that it’s the development of the app and not the customer’s accounts.

My series link has stopped working.
My iq3 box keeps freezing up on replay and my remote works inconsistently.
Called support but they just gave me the run around.
I have had this unit for nearly 10 years and paid many thousands in fees but Foxtel won’t replace it.
Very poor service, may need to look elsewhere.

Appalling App, Appalling Tech Support

This app has a lot of potential but it’s let down by sloppy developers and worse by disinterested unintelligent, untrained tech support “consultants” from South Africa to the Pacific and everywhere inbeteeen EXCEPT FOR Australia. Took numerous unresponded appeals for Tech support over the course of 12 months before I finally figured out it isn’t VPN compatible. It just won’t won’t work with any VPN including the leading on-shore VPN provider despite it being configured to report an Australian IP. The tech support farrago was disgraceful. I cannot say anything positive about Foxtel from price gouging Foxtel who pride themselves on NOT helping this 20+ year subscriber.
This app has been reviewed before and recently. It’s got good potential that makes up for the sh1tful functionality of the Foxtel set top box. If it works right or at all. No point asking Foxtel for help with this. They just don’t listen. A pox on festering Murdoch.

I’d rate it zero stars if that was possible

The app doesn’t work at all. Simple as that. I’ve been waiting for update after update for it to be fixed and every time it simply says ‘Something went wrong. We’re working on fixing this. Please try again later’. Well this has been an issue for more than a year so I guess Foxtel has a different concept of later than anyone else who makes you pay for a product.
FYI my iPhone runs the latest iOS and the app is up to date.

Something went wrong

Whenever I click on the TV guide an error page comes up stating “something went wrong. We are working on getting this fixed”.
That was over two months ago when it first happened.
Used the very handy chat feature to get support on this and after being told to reboot the app then delete and reload I was passed off to complaints department. Who told me to do the same thing reboot/reload. Then said they cannot replicate the problem so can’t help me.
When I complained a little more that I wasn’t the only person experiencing this issue and showed them screen shots of other complaints from the review page they replied, they have passed it onto the engineers and will get back to me when they have a reply. That was last month.
Still not working, no update and no reply.
Foxtel get your act together. People pay lots of money for your service at least you could have a product that works!!!!!!

Billing Issue now a Customer Sat Issue

When I used to call Foxtel whilst using their services for 5+ years the service was faultless. Upgrade package, downgrade etc. When I cancelled my subscription the service I received was a little pushy but fair.
Now the contact centre operation seems terrible and a poor quality speech recognition is the welcome. Then a press #1 to leave a message. Then a text promising an agent within 15 minutes. Then a text asking for online verification. Then no call. I now feel annoyed by the introduction of technology as Foxtel transforms their IT systems for the worse!!!

Hopeless

The search function is a joke. Shows that are advertised on tv as starting in, say, three weeks can’t be found using the search function. And the search function has no concept of relevance. Typing in “rugby” on the night of a bledisloe test gives you dozens of utterly irrelevant hits, through which you have to scroll interminably until you find the game that tens of thousands of people actually want to watch.
And how hard would it be to have an app that doubles as a remote control? I can control my TV, AV receiver, Apple TV and Telstra TV using my iPhone. But not Foxtel, that’d be too obvious. So when my kids lose the remote, I have to try to work it using the front panel, which has next to zero functionality.

Fail again

Yet another untested Foxtel app upgrade. Can't log into account - once user id is entered the keyboard disappears so you can't put in your password. The new layout is poor. I don't want a welcome screen advertising a new show. I want to go straight into the guide. The channel logos are too big for a phone. Why can't you leave things alone that work? The old guide was perfectly functional. I'm sick of app developers justifying their ongoing employment by providing unwanted and non functioning updates. My 10yr old could do a better job.

Not happy🙄 at the moment

Gosh this app used to be good, but it just won’t let me in, I have tried signing in, but it saying it wrong, BUT password in NOT wrong, have deleted the app reinstalled it, but still not working, turned my Mobil of, and restarted it.. still won’t work 😞😞😞😞
PLEASE can you fix this app, or at least tell me what I can do to make it work like it did

When the app works, it does the job. The problem is that updates are being released that break it. This latest version is very buggy. From the basic (not letting you stay logged in) to the user experience issues of laggy loading speed and numerous app failures.

Your app is a joke

This is the first time in my life that I’ve been compelled to write a review of an iPhone application. It is beyond a joke that accompanied the size of Foxtel cannot produce a rudimentary application without obvious and huge bugs. All I want to do is view the TV Guide. When using a web browser the TV Guide does not load on your website. I then get automatically redirected to the application. Clicking TV Guide does not work and does nothing. “Something went wrong” is the error message.
Don’t get me started on how bad your Foxtel Now app is! I would’ve thought the competition from Netflix and Stan would have caused you to become competent in technology. Apparently not.

Set up to record a show via the app only to find the onscreen times for a show can start 10 minutes earlier or later & you miss the last 10 minutes of a show cause the tv times don’t correspond to the guide times

Almost ready for prime time ...

OK ... an update of my earlier assessment.
Still has the odd glitch, but I can now say it is superior to the predecessor Foxtel app. Has a better GUI, is faster and more responsive, has better program information screens, and is an overall improvement. Has the time and effort by the developers been worthwhile, or could they have simply improved the original app ... remains to be seen. (Although the original application often fell over when it was being updated ... often to the extent that the update was unusable. Hopefully this won't occur with this app.)

Hopeless

This app is hopeless. You advertise something with an ad but the show doesn't appear when you actually search in the app if it's more than 2 weeks in advance! And god forbid you should actually want to record a show or series link it be sue that only works half the time. Honestly with technological these days and other competition it begs the question of why you don't listen to your reviews or make at actual improvements to the app. No wonder we reduced our package and we're one step away from turning it off completely. Totally hopeless.
