Catan FAQ:
Question: An expansion seems gone after an update or reinstallation of Catan or after restoring the device?
Answer: Don’t worry! Your initial purchase is already saved in your iTunes account. You can restore your InApp purchases by selecting the restore-option in the Catan IAP menu.
Question: I lost my campaign progress after reinstalling, updating or restoring my device. Is there any way to restore it?
Answer: When saved games can’t be automatically restored, we’ve integrated a cheat code: In the campaign mode go to select player and enter „CatanWarp*“ (* = 1–15) as your player name and confirm. Exit the game via the home button and restart it. The campaign can now be continued from the specified level number (1–15). Levels up to the specified number will be unlocked in the custom game mode as well.
Question: Are dice rolls really random?
Answer: Of course! All dice rolls are 100% random and not modified in any way. We’re avid Catan players ourselves. We’ve played the iOS version hundreds of times while developing the program. There have been times when we won and lost a few games in a row because of the dice - just like when playing the board game!

Good but so buggy
As the title states, the gameplay is 5 stars but this is one of the buggies apps I’ve ever used. The online mode is almost unplayable and there is hardly anyone in the servers.

Great game
Great game and enjoy the interface more then other games.
But I don’t like the fact you have to sign in everytime you finish a game or if you want select a new game you have to sign in or accidentally close the app then by the time you sign in and get reconnected you are out of the game.

It’s good
I only just got it a few days ago, it’s a fun game but when versing AI opponents, I could be 1 victory point off from winning and the opponent somehow gets 4 victory points, all it’s needed rolls and wins. I haven’t won a single game and I’ve played 8 games so far with all near wins.

NEEDS TECH FIX UP
Fantastic game. Desperately needs a tech update. Whilst playing game is always freezing, kicking you out or gets stuck meaning you completely loose the game.
Would love for this to be resolved so it can be a smooth flowing game.
For a game that requires purchase this is pretty poor.

Why can the bots take cards from me using the master merchant card when we have an equal number of points - whereas the bots have to have more points than when I use the card? Unfair!

Super buggy/ don’t waste your money
Really disappointing. Crashes and you have to log back in constantly. The fact you can’t save your login details and have to log in everytime is really dumb. The search for friend function doesn’t work either. Waste of money and if I could get a refund I would!

We love playing Catan! Both the game board and online. Get on a video call and play with family, it’s so much fun!
But the game will crash a lot and one of us always has issues logging in or connecting. Hopefully it will keep improving!

Not recommended. The app is very buggy and crashes throughout most games requiring you to restart the game from the beginning. Very disappointing after purchasing the app.

Glitches need to be fixed
When it works it’s good. But, Game keeps shutting down while playing. When I reopen it sometimes it’s wiped all my campaigns and I have to start again. The city and knights campaign, I will win level 4 and it doesn’t move onto 5. A lot of glitches that need to be fixed.

Fun, and fast
Issues are buy the expansions to play the campaign… then the campaign continues to lose your progress… they need to add a login to save progress
Also I get to level 16 seafarers and every time I pass it still stays on level 16
So to pay for these areas of the game and have them not work is extremely disappointing, it’s just put me back to level 1 on both again for the 4th time so I’ll now not bother any longer with the game..

Update has bugs
I’ve been playing on this app for several years now with no issues, except for the occasional crash in the middle of a game.
Since the recent update, it forces me to login to my account every single time I try to go online, though previously it kept me logged in. Now I have been removed from my friends’ friend list unprompted (though he remains in mine) and the app occasionally reverts text to German.

Computer bias
Love the game but when playing against the computer opponents not only do all the opponents use their Knight cards against you, even when you only have one resource, but as soon as your over seven cards the dice thrown is inevitably a 7 thus losing half your cards.
This makes for an extremely frustrating game

Could improve so much
I’ve been playing this for almost 8 years now. With most recent update, the game keeps crashing, which is quite annoying. Also, AI knows if you have Victory Points with cities and knights (which shouldn’t be the case) as when someone plays Sabotage card, you get sabotaged based on your total points. Don’t get me started on the online game play, it has never worked for me. If I reset my password I never receive the code. Also in the past few years, the number of scenarios in campaigns have decreased. I vividly remember playing one with vulcanos and dragons but they don’t show up any longer even though I purchased all the games. I thoroughly enjoy it but would love to see improvements

Free version is much better, this is just poor
The free version is much better. It’s easier to use, has more features, and looks better than this version. This app is also super buggy and will crash every couple of turns, you also can’t see the entire board which is a pain. Not what you’d expect from a paid version.
You also don’t get all the expansions or additional content, this is the base game with everything additional requiring more $$$

Still Cheats
Started playing this again after a long absence and, surprise surprise, the AI still clearly knows the order of the dice stack. (I gave up allowing it to roll randomly years ago, graphing a dizzying number of AI 7's followed by my tile numbers). It really ruins the game knowing the AI, which isn't terrible otherwise, has this absurd advantage. Also, having just updated the app, it crashed 6 times opening the exchange window.

Crashes
I’m enjoying the app, however I can’t get through a game without it crashing multiple times. It’s beyond frustrating and very disappointing for a paid app. I also find that if I’m winning there is an increase in me throwing a seven. So much so I can almost predict it, the roll of the dice should be 100% random.
Please fix the bugs.
