Love this game...

Love the new chat feature!!! It adds an extra dimension to the game :) But the app really the ability to DECLINE a game, as well as accepting them. [EDIT: Worked out how to DELETE a game you don't want to play... Swipe the game in the list and you'll get a delete button :) ] Also, it would be nice to have more than two players in an online game... and conversely the ability to configure the number of players in the SIngle Player mode would nice... sometimes it would be nice to play against just one computer player, other 5 or 6 :) In pass and play, it would also be beneficial to a) change the colour of the 'End Turn' button so it reflects the player colour... and b) move it between moves... I've found players 'accidently' hit the button twice, ending the other players turn by mistake. Otherwise, this is a MUST have game... it'll keep you occupied for days and days on end :) [LATER: I got a new iPhone today and went to play my online games... now asking me for my password. Didn't have one, so clicked the button to reset. Got the email, but the link in the email doesn't work, so I can set a password and thus can't play my online games :( ]

Great game. Would be better if there was an option for non-aggression pacts to be made between opponents.

Great game, except online battles

This game is great. The only annoying thing is when playing online opponents. Sometimes the game will not finish, even though you have won the game, it keeps showing it to be your turn. Or, you have nearly won the game, but your opponent, seeing they are about to lose, deletes the game!

I would love this game even more if they allowed the option to have some where around 25 opponents to allow for an truly EPIC MATCH!!!

There’s no strategy in strategery..

This game has a lot of potential but is overall disappointing. The AI is very predictable. I have played it quite a lot and the formula for 90% of the games is simple. Do you have the the most armies after 3 turns? Yes - Great! You Win!.. No - You’re going to lose. The remaining 5-10 turns are just fulfilling the inevitable. This is the antithesis of strategy.

This is why other games (ala risk) use some form of wild card to introduce new elements to the game to allowing a more strategic plan. Stripping a game down to it’s bare minimum is not strategy it is just building a big army and throwing it at your opponent.

This game fails and is not what you are looking for.

PS - I am glad they introduced the PvP mode but 1v1 is very weak and pointless. I played 2 games and didn’t bother.

I have hope for this game but they need some major updates to turn it into something other than a brainless exercise.

Great if a little buggy

This is a terrific little app that can be played for hours (believe me on this). It caters for all levels of expertise and can be usefully given to 6 year olds quite successfully. It is a little buggy in places - it doesn't place new armies in your biggest territory first for example and, according to some reviews, the dice are not unbiased - but these can be gotten around. Nice game and fairly cheap. The online option is fairly useless if your opponent disappears.

One nice addition would be a megaepic map for devotees. And to be able to choose the number of opponents.

UPDATE (3 months on) - still no bug fix of annoying little bugs - very disappointing.

Epic game. The computer AI is intelligent and competitive. Pass and play mode is perfect, great to play with 1-4 friends.

In my opinion, online battles need to be able to incorperate some CPU opponents or more than just 2 human players. Apart from that, the game is mint.

Love it!

Love the online multiplayer! All it needs to be perfect is some sort of ranking or stats system. Eg. Before starting a game with someone it shows u their win / loss / abandoned stats. More than 2 players in online multiplayer would be good too.

Interesting game. unfortunately let down by a common problem with this style of game. Instead of implementing a stronger AI for harder difficulty they bias the randomness against the player.

Very enjoyable game. Love the online multiplayer. I would give a five star rating if you could play the online multiplayer with more than two people.

Excellent!!

This is a truly addictive game. Not just when you first add it to your device but also many weeks later.

The game play is quick and simple, the software is stable, and algorithms aren't overly simple to understand.

The ONLY real 'beef' with the game is the inability to challenge an anonymous player, at the moment you need to actually know someone with this app. Though the ability to multiplay over 3G would be cool too.

Lots of options, lots of replay value.

Simple to learn, hard to master. The essential for any good strategy game.

Lots of options let you pick the game style that suits you, like randomly or manually placed reinforcements. You really notice the difference with each difficulty level. Loads of reply value.

On the down side, there's no match maker for multiplayer, and the harder difficulties and larger maps can chew up your battery.

Love this game

Some Risk type games seem to made for the harder core strategy fans. This game has a bunch of difficulty settings which allows you to progress at your own rate. Lots of fun.

Lasting appeal and replay value

Over the last few months Strategery has been consistently my most played game out of the 150+ that I have. The updates have delivered significant new flexibility in how you play the game and improved minor usability issues. My kids also enjoy it.

I highly recommend this game. It has just the right balance of skill and luck to keep it entertaining and challenging.

Good but needs online multiplayer

This would be my #1 favorite game if it also had online multiplayer. It is beautifully simple and has the basic essence of Risk-like strategy.

However, I'll stick to online multiplayer Galcon for now.
