No frills and plays like a real person

I love playing this program. No frills, which I really appreciate and it plays like a real person. It can play at all levels and for me, as a mid-strength player, can challenge my abilities, so I’m always getting better.

A reasonable app

Not as powerful as I expected, it’s beautiful in design and simple. I gave it a 3 though as it have happened quite often during past 2-3 years that app crashed and jumped out of program in the midst of a game or solving puzzles.

Best chess app

tChess Pro is the best Chess app I’ve come upon. I like the graded games and find it very challenging. It has a ‘real’ feel to it and is my ‘go to’ when I can’t find a real person to play against.

I have started playing after many years of neglect. Increasing the degree of difficulty after each win has made it easier to pick up the game again. Great tutor functions also.

Excellent chess app

This is a fantastic app if you want to view pgn games while reading a chess book and makes it easy to flip back and forth between positions and explore variations before reverting to the original game.

There are many chess sets and pieces you can choose to get the look you prefer and the app seems highly stable and reliable.

I've been using it for quite a few years and am impressed by its quality, regular enhancements, and creator's responsiveness to suggestions.

I think you'll be very happy with it.

Big Box Chess

T Chess Pro utilizes PGN format (and iCloud) to read and store annotated games, from the GM's to your own. This database capacity alone is worth the price: playing chess against iDevice is there too but hardly crucial. Recording and analyzing games on the go, entering your own detailed notes and/or tabulating the game trend line are also most useful. A nice surprise is the beautiful iPad 3D board. A labour of chess-love throughout. Highly recommended!

Great for email chess

I use chess as a utility for playing chess by email through u3a. The computer help is turned off for this purpose. The facility to be able to take a photo of the board position and email pgn files is very useful. Also found it good to brush up on openings with the help turned on.

Excellent little chess player. Good to play with friends and has intuitive controls, which make good use of the iPad's tech. Ratings system is solid.

Of all the Chess Apps out there this one is my Top Choice. The game engine seems to be very well balanced giving an appropriately skilled game at every level. Sometimes beginning players or those of us who are returning after many years feel overwhelmed but t Chess Pro offers a progressively skilled opponent as the player's skills improve.

The interface is neat and visually appealing with a choice of styles.

Very powerful and fast engine, definitely recommend.

Great use of technology

Multiplayer is awesome with voice chat on. The designers need to work out a way to run the app staying connected to a multiplayer game and send push notifications when it is your turn. That way you can catch up on email while waiting for your next move.

In addition, the option of text chat should be included as an option. Voice chat has limitations in noisy environments.

Ask the question: how can I allow 2 friends to play a game over the course of a week? Where they come and go but make a move when they get a chance.

In my opinion, it is the best chess software ever. The user interface is extremely beautiful. You would think this software is natures own creation, like an eye! It is that good. I would happily pay 10 times its price. If you love chess, go and buy “t Chess Pro“. I recommend it 100%. I have been playing chess straight for 5 hours using this software. Tom Kerrigan, you are brilliant.
