The best app for Japanese
Been using this app for years to help with my Japanese. It is good for anyone at any level and you can easily customise it to learn specific things by making lists. Highly recommend it is the best free app I have been able to find

Amazing app but a few minor problems
Every since I got this app I was wowed and it is wowing.
But when you go to Kanji sometimes it glitched even though I deleted the app and installed it again and even reseted the device. It’s a little glitchy but still cool I recommend this app.
I would give it a 6/5 if I could.

It’s good but...
I know this app is great because I’ve had it before but it just keeps crashing every time I try to look through the radicals. Please fix I really want to use this.

Excellent tool- and free!!
Love this app for my Japanese vocabulary and Kanji study- great for looking things up in English or Japanese- love the way it breaks words into their kanji and you can look into each kanji to get better context.
Works great when paired with Anki for kanji study, or google translate for help reading Japanese text....

Simply the best Japanese dictionary app
I’ve been using this since studying Japanese in middle school, through to my senior year, and now again as I resume study to prepare for a holiday in Japan and eventually moving there. I don’t think I would have made the progress I have this year without it, and it was a huge help while I was a student as well.

This app is great and provides almost everything you could want in a Japanese language app. I’d have given it a 5, but the lack of a “dark” or night mode lets it down just a tiny bit.

I’ve been using it since my iPod touch days, and I love it on the iPad Pro.
It tells me I’m running a beta version of iOS 11 on opening, which is a minor annoyance as I’m running iOS 11.0.3.

Great update! However...
Have been really pleased with the new update and have been able to make use of the new functions greatly, searching new kanji has never been easier.
However, when studying lists I created that contain single kanji, in the previous version the flash card also showed the common compounds on the back of the card. I was in a habit of memorising the common compounds hand in hand with the original kanji but it seems to be no longer written on the flash card. (Have to tap the kanji and the scroll to the common compound list manually now)
I also can't seem to find where it says the actual number of flash cards learned or memorised to show my progress. It's a little hard to estimate just from the progress bar illustration.
Hopefully these features could be seen reintroduced?
However beyond those points it seems to be a very productive application. Thank you!

I've been waiting for this update since they first announced it, and boy I'm impressed. This app is honestly the most helpful Japanese app I've come across. It has everything you could possibly need. More than just a dictionary, you can search up different conjugations of words, and when you're not sure of a kanji's stroke order, similar looking kanji still appear - a lifesaver (and all offline too!). The flashcard section has greatly improved, and is now really efficient. So much effort has gone into this app and I am so thankful for it. Seriously get this app, you won't regret it.

Fantastic App for Learning Japanese!
I'm loving the new features especially the flash cards when you "study" the words in your list. However it would be amazing if you could flip the back and front around, so it gives you the English definition and you think of the Japanese equivalent.

Better than ever
I love 3.0 already but 4.0 just blows it out of the water. It fixes the long running bug due to iOS updates where returning to the app would reset whatever screen you had left off to the 'home screen'. Now I can safely return to where I left off when app switching, uninterrupted. User interface is great, and the new text reader feature is something I had been looking for in mobile-form and have finally received. Amazing!! Keep up the excellent work, dev team!

Quite informative, great examples of Kanji referencing for an English learning Japanese. One of my go to apps to practice and study.
Gives you a translation of the characters, in Kana and shows pronunciation in romanji. Shows you the order of strokes on how to draw. Has a section for flash cards if you want to practice recall. I highly recommend this app.
