I will of course switch to my Teric for trimix and rec reqs but for recreational diving I cannot fault it 🤙🤙🤙

Updated: they seem to have improved the ghost dive issues.
Worked well for recreational dive. Very close to the dedicated dive computer I wore. It’s a bit annoying when swimming on days off - keeps wanting to activate ghost dives.
It would be great if it could calculate and track surface air consumption between dives (after being told tank size and start/end pressure).

Terrible clumsy app
App did not auto start dive on entering the water even though had it set to start apon entry. Requires pushing the action button, but if you have another app set on the action button and the watch is already wet it closes the app and opens your normal app from the action button and then water locks leaving you with nothing.. no depth gauge timer nothing! Seriously dangerous and clumsy contacted support about this over a week ago with no response at all.. charging people a rediculous high subscription price on top of a “dive ready watch” for it to not even work smoothly is shocking..
used oceanic dive coms for 15 years as a professional.. save money and your life and buy a real dive computer don’t rely on this rubbish, how oceanic put there name on it tarnishing there name is insane

Overall decent app and good backup dive computer. When opening dive location planner the app will sometimes crash. Would love if you added the option to save / favourite dive spots so you don’t have to search all the time. Hopefully there are some cool add ons in the works.

All you need
As an instructor of 30yrs, I find the app to be as useful as any computer I have used throughout my career. It may not have all the fancy features of some computers but it has more than enough functionality for the average recreational diver. 🤿👍

Not easy to update your personal details. You can not update your email without starting a new account and lose your dives. Not an easy app to use and I wish apple would include the full dive application for the Ultra Watch

Promising
Freedive > heart rate fail. My key reason to activate to the paid version did not work, with repeated attempts. I use the ultra daily for native and third party apps that measure heart rate with no issue.
Conditions did not creat the bug - Water temp 15 degrees c. Attempted to artificially activate heart rate by going out of dive mode and activating heart app. This may be an ultra issue related to measurement in water and not an oceanic bug , that said it disqualifies both as an option. Back to the native watchOS version or free oceanic snorkelling option.

Stop asking for feedback!
The first time the “How are you enjoying Oceanic+”, I gave feedback. What is immensely irritating is that every time I log a dive it asks for feedback over and over again. Please make this stop. Irritating your customers with nag-ware is not a good user experience and makes me want to stop using your stupid app

I absolutely love the Oceanic+ app on my Apple ultra watch. I use it all the time now and it records all my GoPro media in my logbook on the oceanic app on my phone, fabulous, I highly recommend it 👍😎

Installation issues
Very disappointed on how difficult it is to install this app on my Ultra 2 Apple Watch. I have still not had any success. I’m glad I didn’t pay the subscription before trying to install. I give up for now. Read all the reviews online.

Some desirable upgrades
I'm pretty happy with the overall functioning of the app utill now but do have some opinions about future upgrades I would love to see. 1) sometimes I carry a main tank with nitrox and a stage tank with normal water. It would be useful if I could switch the gas while diving which gives more meaningful no deco time. Such function is available on shearwater. 2) The watch seems to capture my swing of arm underwater and recognize that as an ascend move. This then usually cause the max ascend rate in the dive log to be something crazy like 35 m/min. It would be helpful to eliminate such outliers to give the true max ascend rate.

No free trial
As a new diver taking my course this week, I’m overwhelmed by the amount of gear and equipment to purchase, most of which is very expensive. I came across the Oceanic+ app and thought it could be a great alternative since I already own an Apple Watch. However, I was disappointed to find no free trial option to test whether it’s suitable for my needs. The only short-term option is a one-day pass, which you have to pay for. At around $8 per day, it would cost me nearly $24 to cover my three-day course—quite steep for something I haven’t had a chance to try. I’d prefer the option of a free trial so I could evaluate the app properly before committing to a longer subscription.

Very disappointed with the stability of this app. Won’t open up on the watch after multiple reboots, upgrades and swearing.
Luckily they took my subscription money from me, so at least one of us is happy 🤯🤬

Great but one flaw
This app is much better than the Suunto dive computer I’ve been using mainly because the screen is so much easier to see. Easy to use and everything I need. However, I do wish it would still work below 40m. This makes deep diving a pain as you need to keep an eye on the watch constantly over 35 m to make sure you don’t stray over 40m.

Often crashing
Definitely not a reliable app for scuba diving. It is often crashing, sometimes mid dive and sometimes it doesn’t even start when you are still on the surface. I hope this will improve.

Garbage app. Doesn’t work, or crashes at worst possible time when you are mid dive. Can’t be relied upon for monitoring dives safely. Save your money and buy a dive computer made by anyone else

I’ve been using the Oceanic app for awhile as a backup computer and it was great but yesterday, while mid-dive, the app started crashing and failing to load from my watch. Not the kind of reliability you need from a dive computer.

Failed when I needed it most
Apple Watch app would not launch at all. Caught between software updates. The watch had downloaded a bricked version of the software that continued to fail until iPhone update and the Apple Watch update. Can’t do this one hour before the dive. Apple dive app worked just fine.
Have a second dive computer and learn how to use the dive tables if you are going to use this app.
I did, oh and we saw some wales just at the sea way on our way out, amazing and the dive was good too.

I’m unable to boot up oceanic on my iPhone or my i watch since the new update. Any help will do as there is nothing on the internet. Wasnt good as I was about to dive yesterday and couldn’t use either

Pity about the basics
While the app has potential, these are my gripes:
- the dive time includes the 4-5 minutes I spend on the surface before I get out of the water. The dive time should stop once I surface
- the max depth shows to one decimal place on the watch, but to the nearest meter on the phone app
- the no fly time cuts off the hours on the Dynamic Island on the phone. For example 17:45:23 will display as 7:45:23. Just get rid of the seconds in the display. Do I really need to explain this?
- I’d like to see the average depth and the surface temperature in the log
- There should be other info such as country, area, dive site in the log
- there is nowhere to enter the start/end BAR so it can calculate the SAC rate

I just love this app, simple to use, I’m a beginner diver with 40 cold water boat and shore dives, so for me it’s amazing. Takes a lot of guess work out, let’s me concentrate on the scenery.

Can’t log past dives.
Pretty decent app and logs all the correct information, but only what’s been put through the device.
This apps biggest downfall is that you can’t enter recorded dive data from your log books according to devices previous to an oceanic device/app.
This app would be well worth the yearly subscription if it had this ability in the next update.

Meh
Let’s just say: the fact that the Oceanic+ app exists and that it can turn your Apple Watch Ultra into a dive computer is a good thing. I will however switch to a proper dive computer. A few things stood out for me though:
For one, the subscription price is very much on the high side. Why is there no one-off purchase? In all fairness, they do offer the day pass, which is a low-cost option for irregular divers.
Then there is the fact that the Watch Ultra is too small for a dive computer. I prefer a bigger display. There are only so many things that you can cram onto the dial of the Watch Ultra. You will also need to order a longer strap from Apple if you want to wear the Watch Ultra over a wetsuit. And the buttons are too small if you are wearing thick neoprene gloves.
And lastly, there is no air integration. That’s a comfort feature that I do not want to miss in a dive computer.

Feels like it’s done by developers not by divers
Living near the water, I love that the Apple Watch now works as a dive computer. The display is very easy to read under water and the layout is clear.
However, the logbook is an afterthought that feels like it’s done by developers in the office and not by someone who would actually use it.
The total number of dives is a total of all 3 dive modes (scuba/free/snorkel). If I want to know how many scuba dives I have done I need to go to the logbook, then turn on the filter to show scuba only … and then I can manually count.
However if you go into a dive for more details and then jump back to the list, it now shows you all dives again, even though the filter is still set.
This means you remove the filter to the enable the filter again… sorry … but this is stupid.
I now resulted in deleting all snorkel and freedive events and only use the Oceanic app for Scuba only.
I use the Depth app for snorkelling and basic freediving instead so it doesn’t mess up my Scuba logbook.
Sad though because the app is great while diving but my 15 year old dive computer has a better logbook than this one.
Please send your guys diving so they can work out what does matter and fix it … for god sake Oceanic,… you are a dive company.

Just been certified and starting my diving journeys. It’s a great app that provides me diving info as a beginner that I can just use my ultra. Also I bought the housing as well. However, it’s still a lot to improve with this price range. There were few dives which I didn’t use the housing and my phone, just my watch. But I have to manually sync the logbook few times to get my dives log show on the app. Even after updated the logbook, there were some duplicate dives and few times been frozen that i need to restart few times to actually open the app. I would say it’s a good option for recreational but still have a lot to improve.

Unsafe App
App still freezes in dive mode and still doesn’t sync. The resetting app and phone response is not good enough from oceanic support. This App should be withdrawn from sale until it is actually reliable. I own a ten year old oceanic atom 3.0 computer which is safer and more reliable than this app. This company still still can’t get it right after 12 months live as a app. Good luck if your on a dive trip and your watch freezes on a dive most charters won’t let you dive for the rest of the day for safety reasons. Unsure how a company that produces the worlds best dive computers can’t get an app to work after 12 months. Interesting Apple doesn’t promote the Ultra as a scuba device now. They just blame Oceanic when you ring them to report safety concerns. It’s a pity it doesn’t work as the Ultra display is easy to read underwater.

Good but could be lots better
Just bought the new dive housing, as I am actually a retailer in Australia who sells a range of dive products. Unfortunately, while the housing itself is of great design, the functionality within the app is limited. Great tutorials, and able to take good photos, however whenever a high resolution video (1080p 60fps and upwards) is being recorded the screen has a sudden rapid increase in lag to the point that the delay and quality are so bad that’s it’s unusable. The screen has about 5 seconds delay and stutters badly. I hope this can get fixed asap, but until that, 2 stars is all I can recommend, nor can I recommend the Dive housing to any of my customers until the application that is REQUIRED for the product to work, is fixed

Was using this as a backup in case my dive computer failed…. which it did, so I was relying on the app. Worked perfectly. Should read the instructions though. A bit fiddly as the watch locks when worn over your wetsuit. Once you realise this, and work out the app still runs all is good. Do I get my dive computer fixed now? Probably, but now only for use as a backup.

No respect
I sent them email regarding my log. disappearing issue more than a month ago. They've never replied back yet. At the first time, they replied that they sent their developer my issue. But nothing since then. So I sent them email again a week ago, "Please let me know I can get my logs back or not" No answer. So disrespectful and untrustworthy. Sync doesn't work many times. Disappointing app and Apple.

App crashes continuously
I was attempting to use the Freedive mode today and the first dive went well and I loved the interface, however after that the app continuously crashed and restarted. Currently when I open the Freedive area, I see the dive screen for about 5 seconds and it crashes, every time. Making the app unusable. I was hoping to transition from my Suunto D5, but will need more stability in the app

Good App
All the features I need and very easy to navigate the menu plus the screen on the Apple Watch is super bright and clear. The only complaint I have is not being able to switch off the safety stop, if I have done a decent deco dive I don’t want to do my last stop at 6M then do a safety stop at 5, this is a very minor gripe for when I am only using it as a backup. It goes nuts and locks me out after a rebreather dive, hardly surprising 😂

A very good start. The screen is fantastic underwater
Really enjoyed using the Apple Watch ultra diving. The screen is really bright when compared with other computers I use. As with anything like this I’m looking forward to future updates with added functionality and improvements. A couple of things I think should be considered: -I found the crown turns a little too easily and is a little sensitive when scrolling through the lower screens underwater. Even rubbing on my wrist rolled the lower screen. - Nitrox ppo2 maximum of 1.4 should be adjustable to 1.6 to be in line with all the other computers I have experience with. I understand that 1.4 is a recreational limit but other computers allow up to 1.6. If I’m using this as a backup computer it would allow me to operate them at the same ppo2 so the MOD and warnings etc will be the same.

Enjoying the watch app
I Love the oceanic+ app on the ultra its self, easy to use and easy to read and works well. The App its self is pretty good, but alot of room for improvement. Type of dive- theres no saltwater option. The buddy field is annoying as you have to type it every time, would be good if you could save buddy names/certnumbers for reuse.
The option to manually add gear would be good too as not all gear is listed in the options. Also the option to manually add old dives and edit dive information of logged dives( had an issue where my dive restarted twice so i have 3 entries for 1 dive) would be handy to beable to correct it. Of course a mac/pc app version to sync would be great. I use this watch as my main watch while diving, but the app isn't quite there yet to be my main app. Good work sofar hoping the app its self gets to the point where i use it as my main log.

Shame on Apple
Shame on Apple , this app doesn’t sync well the watch and the phone, logbook is different across devices. I don’t know why Apple Ultra doesn’t have native diving watch application. This app is not worth the subscription fees , the only reason I’m paying for it because Apple doesn’t produce native free app which contradict my reason to buy the Ultra watch in the first place.

Logbook does not Sync Properly
I have made about a 100 dives so far with the Oceanic app and the Apple Watch Ultra. There is a reoccurring problem syncing the watch and the phone. The 1.1.4 update was supposed to address the problem (as noted in an email announcing the update) but it has only made it worse. Now nothing updates at all. Tech support says you just need to restart the phone and the watch and then sync the watch to the phone (in account settings) and then sync the logbook between your devices and the cloud but no matter how many times this is done, the number of dives does not update. It is also a very slow process. We have tried this on two different ultra watches and two different phones and other divers who I have met have the same problem. It’s a real shame for what has the potential to be a great product. This is all the more disappointing for a subscription based app that is the only dive computer option for the Ultra Watch. Oceanic and Apple need to get it together.

Working well, log book has room to improve.
While initial versions had some annoying bugs, current shipping version works very well and is easy to use with some good features. Digital compass is really nice and setting waypoints makes navigation quite straightforward. Gas planner is easy to use and switching between air and Nitrox pre dive is simple.
It’s worth working on an entry procedure with Oceanic+ to incorporate the requirement of pressing the action button to start the dive. Something like the following works for me: dump BCD air, breath out, submerge at least 1m, press action button, equalise.
There’s no ability to record start and finish gas pressure in the logbook so be prepared to export dives using a seperate app and using a different log book if you want to track SAC/RMV.

Not bad but could be better
I use the Snorkelling function for spearfishing. The number of dives is often incorrect and you can only see the max depth, not depth of last dive. The duration of last dive is great, but there’s no surface interval timer so it’s hard to know how long in between dives if you’re not paying attention to the time. Sometimes the app exits on its own and sometimes it doesn’t automatically start, so still a few issues. But seems to be the only decent app on the market so a good start, given the depth gauge on the ultra is still fairly new.

Used it as a backup glad it wasn't my primary
I gave the app a try and was glad it wasn't my only option. As I wore it over my wetsuit I needed to enter my device pin several times. Not an easy thing with gloves on. Also the second dive didn't start at all, and I didn't notice until I was at 9m (as I said it wasn't my primary).
I'm glad I haven't paid for the year subscription. Hope it gets better soon, would be nice to be able to sync to strava or paid for dive logging.

Favourite dive brand decent into corporate greed
Wow. Was happy to pay for an app with a one time purchase, but subscription only? Really? What a way to give a big middle finger your loyal customers. I can buy a dive computer for the same price as an annual membership and it would last me way longer than the Apple Watch. Big joke. I was the biggest advocate for oceanic dive gear too, and was looking forward to diving on a connected device. I'll wait for another third party who has enough sense to not fall for the subscription gimmick.

No subscription option missing
There needs to be a no subscription offering for scuba. Pay once for the standard dive features. For all of the social and extended feature that have ongoing costs to support they could be under a subscription.

A bit dangerous and how much???
Have dived with it a few times now, and was immediately surprised to find out that it won’t start automatically. You need to press a button to accept a “fit and ready to dive” question, while already diving! A bit late now, I’m under water. So now I have press a button while descending to see my depth…oh wait I’m holding a camera in my other hand, and now I need to put air in my BCD, clip off a camera and concentrate on pressing a button. Not safe. It’s adding more task loading and is unexpected behavior as no other dive computer requires this. If you don’t pay attention you could be very deep before realising it hasn’t started. Perplexing this is a requirement. Also don’t go below 40m, as it locks you out of scuba completely during the dive (Apple’s fault as they don’t allow the hardware to give depths below 40m)
Another annoying issue is shallow dives or surfacing briefly causes the dive to stop. I had one dive become five because I needed to surface a few times during it. It should wait a minute or so before ending the dive.
And a subscription model for a dive computer? Are they even going to be adding new features for my subscription. So far they don’t seem to be as the above issues are well known and haven’t changed. Maybe Oceanic don’t care as they would prefer you buy their dive computer anyway. Might go back to my trusty Mares.

A few issues to resolve
I have now used the Scuba App for quite a few dives. When carrying out shallow dives, the app keeps ending the dive prematurely whilst diving close to the surface at around 1.5m. I have to keep starting the dive again. Can the developer include the option to end the dive manually? On one occasion it happened so much (about 5 times), the app froze!! Big safety issue. Secondly the app needs the option to add custom gear. Thirdly the app needs to have the ability to manually add past dives. The app (and Watch Ultra) are a long way off being capable of of being used as a primary Dive computer. The display is great, just needs the functionality improvements.

First of all - the subscription is joke. You can take a long walk off a short plank you blood sucking thieves. Garmin don’t charge a sub do they? Great technical app, needs UI improvement.
Great App from a dive tracking perspective. I dive and snorkel, I should be able to select dive or snorkel from app startup, rather than having to go into settings to switch between them.

Snorkelling is bad
I got my watch ultra and downloaded Oceanic app as it is the only one that can access depth data except of built in Depth. I’m snorkelling / freediving so I was excited I could replace my dive watch. How wrong was I. No information of surface time after a dive, labels were truncating when session was over an hour so I couldn’t even see seconds. After all that there isn’t even a dive chart available in the app. Just number of dives, max depth (rounded to full meters) and max time. No way to export or see the data in a better way. App also didn’t export the session as a workout. Not good, shame there is no alternatives.

UNSAFE, lost in-app purchase, wouldn’t provide info
After an uncontrolled accent the watch app lost its license (in-app monthly purchase, 30 days remaining), device was offering for me to upgrade which wouldn’t have worked as there was no cell coverage by and I couldn’t use the touchscreen plus I was quite panicked. I went to resubmerge to depth to compress then execute a controlled accent - the watch claimed I was ‘snorkelling’ at 12m for 10minutes. I needed to know depth, no deco time etc and I was underwater so I couldn’t very well fix the problem with my phone. Dreadful product, not safe.
Besides this major safety issue, the fact that you have to confirm fit to dive rather than it just working is a massive failure to me. No other dive computer I’ve seen requires this.
Difficult to keep the compass up on display.
Not good. Really disappointed.

Very Disappointed
Very disappointed in the subscription options. No other dive watch on the market asks for a subscription with no option for a one off fee. I can’t believe that they ask for that on top of paying for a $1300 watch! As a Dive Master who would like to use the watch for every day use and diving purposes for hopefully quite a few years, the subscription model is so unprofessional! If it was a one off fee, I would be inclined to purchase the watch and use this app.

Oceanic+ app crashes, dives are not recorded!
Dear App Support Team,
I went diving this morning using a hookah system which I thought the free version of the app will be perfect for.
I was really excited to try out this app and have been waiting for the opportunity for quite some time.
I was 19min in to the dive when the app crashed and reset all my stats to zero! Not a life-death situation in my case as I’m in shallow 12m waters but very disappointed with my experience.
The app froze another time on my way back to the shore.
The app also didn’t log the second half of my dive and I’m on the latest version of both WatchOS and Oceanic+
I would also like to see a non-subscription based app like so many other comments. Please make the app more affordable and reliable you will see better engagement from the community.
In relation to the GUI, I like the Watch app but the IOS app is a little cluttered and navigation could be improved. Eg. Shouldn’t go into account to sync with the Watch.
All in all it’s a great first effort from Oceanic but much more work is required.

Great App
Dived it a bit now. It’s an amazing app that’s easy to use and quick to do everything I want (change between gases quickly etc).
All our diving is in 30m of water where I live and I have noticed that the app can be a bit conservative on the second dive. My mates will have full bottom time and I seem to have a few minutes less. Not sure if you can change it. I used to have the same issue with the Suunto watch’s and used to just use tables and swap between dive watches.
Other than that I will never dive without it.

Poorly executed
Set up automatic launch of the app when entering the water, and when pressing the action button. Paid for a one-day subscription to try it out. Pressed the action before the dive and began descending. It recorded the dive as a snorkel, but knows I was diving, so now locked out of scuba mode for 24 hours. Account says one day subscription active, but also says scuba mode not available. Useless when you’re already 14 m down and realise it hasn’t engaged scuba mode as set.

Only Snorkeling support on free version
Apple hyped this capability in the launch of the Apple Watch Ultra. They seemed to sell this as an included feature. However this app only includes free access to Snorkeling. There are no dive capabilities in the free plan. This is extremely disappointing. There is already a built-in watch app for Snorkeling. This app adds nothing useful.
Diving support was a big selling point for me in buying the Ultra version of the watch. Hopefully other developers can create a dive computer for free or a one off cost instead of a subscription. This is a complete ripoff.
