Enjoying good graphics

Have just started playing and am finding quite enjoyable. I really don’t enjoy the very difficult spot the difference levels, however. I wish the game were easier, which would make it much more fun to play. The game is still interesting to play some months later. The only thing I don’t enjoy is the Find the Difference mode - it gets too hard and ge stos bein enjoyable. One thing would make this game more interesting and that would be to greatly reduce the number of Find The Difference games. Far too frequent. It gets boring when that happens.

This was an enjoyable game with plenty of challenges. Continue to receive an error message when attempting to log in to G5 server. Have sent a request to tech support but issue persists without resolution. Error is “connection to G5 Friends network is lost”.

Love the graphics and different story books. The gifts the ghost leaves have helpful items including what is needed to enter the event chapter until the 2nd to last chest is opened then it’s just coins and power. Use to love the challenge of the games and keeping my mind active in a fun way but Haven’t won a single game in the event book without using tools to finish it and the rewards are just not worth playing it anymore. After playing for a couple of years, getting fed up with not being able to complete the event chapter and get that last writer’s chest. You need 35 points to enter the event chapter but only receive 10 keys. You need to play at least 4 or 5 games to get enough points together to enter the event book. And to amount to 1000 keys for the final chest seems impossible unless you can play for hours and now the keys are so hidden I’m averaging finding about 50% of them. Impressed with how G5 does respond to queries and complaints

Waiting for updates to install is unbearable,

This honestly used to be one of my favourite games but I rarely play it anymore because of its frequent need to download and install new updates. Yes I get that updates are required for special events but there is ALWAYS some new event running and the updates and installation run at an unbearably slow speed! I need to wait usually 10 min for the update to complete. I dread the whole update process and often give up and exit the game altogether. The game says I can play while it downloads but why only the original Sherlock Holmes book? It would be wonderful to have more opportunity to work through the entire library collection. I feel the gameplay is very restrictive in your progression through each novel of the library. There has been several occasions that the game will send me back to previously completed novels with an ‘extended’ storyline and then not allow me to continue my current novel until the extension is completed. This disappointing feature makes gameplay very boring..no one wants to be forced to complete the same area twice!

A lot of fun.

I have been playing this game for a number of years. It’s relaxing but also can keep you on the edge of your seat. My only problem with it is, to get through at a c onstant pace one would need to make constant purchases. This is disappointing unfortunately, most if not all games are set up this way to make a profit. This can slow your game progress and sometimes make you not want to play. The graphics are lovely and some areas can be difficult especially if you have eye problems, the timer goes off too quickly. You can not enjoy a level and take in all the surroundings while on a search this is unfortunate. For those of you who buy your way through, I would say your not up for a true challenge, shame on you. Well done.

Last update made Sherlock impossible

Since the last update my game has become ten times harder and even levels I have played hundreds of times I can’t finish in time. It’s like the amount of objects is doubled and the time is shorter. Even with tools on I still can’t finish or find everything. I have played this game for years and years and it was my favourite game but I’m fed up I can’t finish or play a level 15 times in a row and still not finish once. Please fix this I want to play still but this level of impossible is not even worth trying.

Game freeze/fades and logs out of game.

Until e days ago or more I would have rated this game a 5 star as I have plated this game everyday, sometimes for an a hour several times a day. Have also spent a lot of money at times to get through difficult stages. Now every time I open game the new area for investigations pops up (slums…) and when I touch investigate the screen fades and game closes. It is disappointing especially when this is the month for Halloween and I have missed several days of challengers when I could be playing a different area. Please fix this as I have contacted support for help and your generic response of obvious thins like turn iPad off etc are not helpful and I have tried offloading the game and followed several things CHATGBT told me to do but still can’t get the fading glitch to stop!

Near impossible to complete collections without having to make purchases which I don’t do so very few collections completed. Some of the scenes are just way to hard, which wouldn’t be so bad, but when you do finally complete the scene there is very little reward.

I generally enjoy playing this game, although sometimes it can be too hard and more bonuses (without having to buy them with real money!) would be really good and make the game more fun to play.

I love this game, it's fun, but it gets really hard as you go up the levels and ranks. I wish there was an easier way to get lifelines, especially using the gold coins you collect. That would make the game more enjoyable. Right now, I find the game really difficult, and it can get boring because you can't move on to the next level until you solve the current challenge. This makes the game frustrating and less fun. Please make it easier to get lifelines—this would make the game more exciting and motivate players to keep trying.

Wonderful game to pass the time, but be warned it can be very stressful as well (iPad out the window kind). Great stories and colourful characters plus with patience you can finish the levels, sadly I have little patience but am getting better-thanks Sherlock -fancy that a game that teaches as well. Best game

I’ve been playing Sherlock for a few years now and it still doesn’t disappoint. No adds just in house purchase offers occasionally. The plot evolves as you progress and you can choose to find hidden objects or match 3. You also get a constant storyline and monthly new stories (books) to explore and other fun games.

It is child friendly with no gambling advertising, would recommend this to anyone.

Beautiful graphics, and the rewards are plentiful but the ones that actually help in the game to progress are not often acquired. Gems hard to get. You do not need to spend money but as with all these games it does help a lot . However I'm still enjoying the challenges without spending cash.

Great Game, but what happened to ability to change hidden object mode?

I have been playing this game for many months, and enjoy the ability to switch between hidden object mode and match 3 puzzles. The links between the game story and classic books makes it more interesting than most match 3 games.

For a while there was a feature that allowed you to use some of your coins earned in game to change the Hidden Object mode. That was a great feature! If you didn’t like “find the differences” you could switch to find by name, for example. However, this feature seems to have disappeared after the last update.

Please put it back!

I love this game, it’s so interesting and varied. But the new update today has removed the ability to use coins to swap the search mode - I loved this feature, it kept the challenge endlessly interesting and made good use of accumulated coins which otherwise have little use.

Look, there are heaps of games like this out there, but this is the only one I’ve found that has two options to complete the levels! You can look for the hidden objects the old fashioned way, or you can play match 3 to complete the level! It’s great.

Sometimes too frustrating

I enjoy the concept yet I find it frustrating that after winning several games in a row the item that is needed to complete a collection doesn’t come up. Alternatively all five pieces of a collection has been gathered then the items to combine the collection haven’t been gathered and then time is lost playing games for no return at all.

Also, the special pieces in a 3 match aren’t always that special. For example a piece that should clear a line will sometimes only clear one or two neighboring pieces.

I was enjoying the puzzles, even when it took a few attempts to solve but it has got to the point that unless you spend money it can take over 10 to 15 attempts to solve. A lot of times you end up with one or two short of finishing. Making it impossible to finish with out paying for assistance. If it continues it will be time to exit stage left.

Way too much money to enjoy game

Nice graphics and complexity. Shame that one can’t actually play without spending money to progress in a reasonable time.

Always one block short seems to be the theme.

Takes ages to earn enough in game so that you can get a tool to get that ‘one block short ‘ to win the challenge.

Time to get energy back = hours + ‘one block short’ happening way above statistical average = monetary gain for company, but

No enjoyment without spending money continuously.

Already spent money, because I believe in paying for games, but this is way beyond anything I have seen in very elaborate games I play regularly and with those other games I don’t mind paying for season passes because they provide a good chance to play even without waiting for hours and having to spend money continuously.

Fix the algorithm to provide more incentive to play. I don’t mind paying, but this is not fun.

3 stars for good graphics and complexity, but too expensive and frustrating.

Complex and engaging

This game has the best graphics I have seen in a hidden objects or find object game. I like the complexity of what’s on offer but it is visually a bit too rich. The beautifully executed graphics are great, but finding objects is a much more difficult task than most games of this genre. The written instructions as scenes change can be a bit too quick. I’d like them slowed down to reading speed. Overall a great looking game - it’s only day one so I may return for an update. You need a lot of focussed attention to play in this virtual world.

Bored

You play the game at the beginning you move on quite quickly, get lots of things able to achieve a lot then there is nothing, you play different modes in different books etc and you don’t get the puzzles out. You try to finish different collections . For example I played about 20 different modes to try and get the missing item for the collection and got nothing. Lift your game makers. Weak and boring, I think I’ll watch paint dry that would be more exciting

G5 have great games.

I love G5 games, I only have one complaint, I wish that the items we missed when investigating, would be highlighted for us so we could know where they were and what they looked like. Not everyone knows what certain objects are by name.

It was fun for a while, but given you need Gems to do practically everything, you are forced to buy them …I’ve no idea why you get so many coins , I have over 700,000 and nothing to use them on !!! . So either be prepared to spend big on gems or sit around for hours waiting to accumulate energy to play one game … not worth it. And so boring playing the same scene, receiving the same items ( you don’t need) over and over waiting to get a specific item..mind numbing

Really enjoy the game but disappointed with the short time frame to find items … 3 minutes isn’t long enough for those of us are ‘challenged’ with visual recognition.

Anyway to be able to extend the timeframe?

I thought enjoyment is the aim not competition.

Well … some of us like enjoyment and Not competition.

So much to do

Unlike other searching or match 3 games, it seems almost impossible to run out of energy quickly. There are so many quests and options for what to do this game almost borders on overwhelming for those of us who like to cross things off a list as new things keep appearing. But it’s an enjoyable game with lots to do and a story line that some may find interesting too.

I have only just got this game back will have to get back to you as to my opinion and true ratings. I’m disabled and I’m loving this app as it’s helping me with my anxiety and depression and my other medical problems keep up the excellent work.

Enjoyable so far

Fun to play, easy to progress, can play either hidden item mode or match 3 mode (I prefer hidden item but like being able to choose).

Energy takes a while to regenerate but can be replenished via multiple sources (completing collections, levelling up, etc)

Did not realise you can zoom in for hidden item modes. Very glad the game gives hints/advice when waiting for pages to load.

Definitely was feeling stuck trying to progress before learning that trick.

Fun to play and learning at the same time

Most of the words were outside of my vocabulary I had to check the meaning so pretty much I had to learn new words every time when I play it.

I like the game, colourful background also if you get tired from finding the items you can switch to play the ‘match-3G’ alternatively for a break.

Good game BUT !!!!!

It’s a enjoyable game but there are some issues.

Definitely stacked against the player, continually asking for money which takes away from the enjoyment of the game. I very quickly took the game off as I am not in the habit of supporting the people who program these games as they are unreasonable with their prices when you compare these games to the simple games like candy crush, cards,, etc, yes I know there’s more work in their graphics, but hey I don’t care I only want to be entertained for an hour not have my weeks salary taken in an hour, sorry guys.

Good game

I really like this game, but the match-3 puzzles could be a little easier. For example, I don’t see how 31 envelopes or some such thing can be collected in 14 moves - just impossible to do, plus the boosters are expensive. Apart from that I enjoy this game 👍

Edit: I love you how assume I don’t try to create power moves - I do, and the tiles don’t always fall in a way to make that possible within the alotted amount if moves. Do better.

Enjoyable but greedy game

I enjoy playing this game except for a few small issues:

1. I would really appreciate a ‘try again’ feature when I can’t reach the goal.

2. Why can’t the investigator (i.e. Sherlock, Watson etc) already be in the chapter when the quest is selected? This makes the game greedy in terms of time & tablet energy.

3. How can a collection be completed when a magic book, for example, Scrooge is removed?

I am thoroughly enjoying this game, it is easy to play and navigate.

The ability to select either investigate or match 3 to pass a level is really good.

It is graphically excellent and levels a easy to pass.

I gave this game 5 stars because of the ease of level play and graphics.

I recommend this game for all ages

After playing for a while the games get so hard it’s impossible to win unless you buy crystals to extend the time or amount of goes. Be careful when buying crystals too as I’ve been charged twice each time for one set of crystals. I’ve contacted iTunes and G5 Entertainment each say not their problem and direct me to the other company. Finally iTunes said that G5 invoice them and they collect the money on G5 behalf so it must be G5’s problem as they are sending duplicate invoices and that makes sense to me. Still waiting on a reply from G5.

'Dracula' in a subsequent update?

This game is the absolute best! I love old literature, but had never read any of the Sherlock Holmes stories before. After playing this game, I have gone back and read heaps. I am Holmes and Dr Watson's newest fan. Thank you for creating a game that encourages a love of good stories. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is my favourite book, so I love visiting places like the Queen's Garden! Would it be possible to add 'Dracula' or 'Snow White' as one of the stories in the library in a future update? Those are fabulous stories too. Thanks!!

Great graphics and I love the idea of being able to choose to play either hidden objects or match 3. What I don’t like is that you open the match 3 and you are almost immediately shown where there are matches. I play match 3 because I want to find the matches, not be shown where they are. Can we please have the ability to turn their annoying hint off?

If I fail a room and I want to replay that room, I have to exit the room and return to the library before I can select the room again. Instead, when I am told that I have failed the task I would like to return immediately to the room without going via the library.
