Gone to the dogs
I have been using AVG products for several years but their service has deteriorated so much and their offerings become so complicated and overlapping that I am going with another product. They seem to just be a scam these days trying to leech as much money as possible from their customers, instead of offering a single comprehensive product (like I thought I had paid for). And good luck trying to contact customer support, they just keep looping you back to a community help page. Unbelievable.

Needs to fix its interface for iPhone.
Yo so this app. It might do what it says. But I’ve a problem with it. And it’s a pretty big one. It runs interference with the iOS and prevents the SIM card from operating on the device. So if I’m out and about and not connected to wifi I can’t use my phone for anything. Whether for gps messaging friends or just using my phone as a phone. Which is a pretty big issue imo. If this doesn’t get fixed or if vpns can be made to not be as restrictive in regards to internet connections and servers then what’s the point of even using vpn services.
Pls fix this and I may consider redownloading in the future.

Does not work when 365 days left on device activation code. I tried to refund after trial, worked out a deal for 75% so I could still trial for a year. Refunded $52.49 instead of full amount for something that won’t work now. Save your money, I’m going back to Norton

AVG free 14 day trial
I have been trying for days to cancel 14 day free trial and the options in the App Store under purchases is nothing that says
1. Manage subscriptions
2. AVG mobile security to view subscription details
3. Cancel subscription
So if the above three options are not available there is NO way to unsubscribe, I contacted support they told me how to unsubscribe but I don’t have the options to do this available in this horrible hacked iPhone
So I am left the only option I have which is to delete it I’m at a loss and I will never try a free trial again such a stressful experience and then I’ll put a hammer to the most unreliable Apple product ever

My phone was hacked consequently my personal information link to banking detail was obtained by the hacker‘James’ .Why you security did NoT act swiftly when the fraud was committed?!!! THIS APP STINKS
AVOID! The VPN within the app does not function properly. You wont be able to send emails when you use it. It says it protects your email addresses but it doesn't remember them! When I asked for a refund they literally told me I had to ask Apple because they had no control over their refunds!! Their customer service is terrible as well.

There is only a Touch ID option avail to activate the VPN? And this isn’t recognized. No other password option is avail. Only other option is cancel, which results in an error message that the VPN was unable to be installed. Not satisfactory at all.

AVG is the preferred security solution at Umph Pty Ltd
My name is Michael Sutton and I operate my own digital marketing agency and IT business called Umph, in Melbourne Australia. We have grown to serve clients nationally with solutions to help businesses grow and better manage their customers, security and efficiency online.
We’ve seen first hand what online threats can do to a business. We ourselves fell victim to ransomware and phishing attacks that targeted myself and staffs information on desktop computers that were running other security solutions with an AVG competitor which we will keep to ourselves although their software failed to pickup rather obvious threats, we failed to configure its complex settings as specifically as that software needed, baffling us that many simplistic and expected protections weren’t on by default. A hard lesson learnt with a 2 week long downtime as we investigated the scope of the threat.
Our business server which houses our customers, Umph website and Microsoft exchange servers for our company email accounts, thankfully had AVG Internet Security for business server editions on the hypervisor servers and their associated virtualised servers running various roles and services to maximise our website responsiveness and data management needs. Or in English, our business backbone main servers and customer data were better protected thanks to AVG being trialed on those servers at the time the threat compromised our network and desktop PCs. We had 30 days from memory at no cost to evaluate the server edition software and to be honest, as a new business starting out with a humble customer base, I had every intention of cancelling the trial at 29 days to see what else we could trial for free while money was still very tight. AVGs performance under threat changed all that and the very next day when it quickly became obvious there weren’t any strange or unauthorised connections to any of the servers saving us an enormous amount of time and money assessing the scale of the threat once it became obvious these investigations would be simplified to just 4 desktop PCs and one laptop. The same laptop I pawned the very next day apprehensively as I had a sentimental soft spot for it as I started my business from my lounge room with it. That’s how Umph funded our first year as properly licensed customers of AVG, no longer something to worry about it was something we were obligated to have in place before anything else could matter.
Customer privacy and security is at the forefront of everything we do as a result of a close call with potential disaster had AVG not been in place protecting our clients.
AVG blocked these attacks, threats and unwanted visitors and protected our customer data, saving us from potential data and privacy breaches which being a young company, would have likely commercially assassinated the vision and livelihood of the business through legal liability defences and poor customer experience had we not chosen carefully to make the decision to trial AVG Internet Security business products for a bit of free security breathing space which as a result of how well it performed, became mandatory as company policy on all existing and new future servers whether physical or virtual.
So despite a few grumpy staff to apologise to for unauthorised iTunes bank debits from breaches of staffs details on desktop workstations within the office, we managed to avoid a far greater catastrophe by choosing what we felt was the best value for money solution on the market considering speed performance and resource usage, annual cost, threat detection sensitivity, ease of configuration, and speed of future server deployments in a secure manner.
Since then, we have added AVG Internet Security Business desktop computers to our mandatory company policy guidelines for safe and secure operation of customer projects within our workplace. This has skyrocketed my popularity again with staff again after failing to cheer them up as they didn’t think my iTunes gift cards as a Christmas bonus that year were very funny!
We have no current affiliation with AVG at the time of this writing other than being customers for 5+ years ourselves, so this review is by no means an attempt to sell AVG services, rather more to help businesses who may have felt the financial pinch of COVID 19 or just startups struggling to grow or even the thrifty yet confused, with the hope our story I’m sharing here helps a business owner and his/her clients avoid disaster and possible early retirement through procrastination of something so vitally important for every business.
However I have just decided to approach AVG in the near future just to be upfront here, to possibly sell AVG products given we steer many clients in their direction already. So just in case any future readers of this review someday stumble upon an AVG approved reseller badge of sorts on our website, it was only through writing this review that I even thought it was a good idea!!!
