Useless and annoying
After wasting half an hour responding to confirmation prompts, you finally think youre set and go on your way, only for the app to be completely silent and do absolutely nothing.... deleted this app after a few occurnces like this. WYz is bad but not this bad...

Pretty good, but a few issues.
I like the direction this app is heading in since the name change from AmiGO. The map looks beautiful. And the traffic view is excellent.
Some issues limit TomTom’s usefulness though.
1. TomTom still doesn’t work in CarPlay’s split screen view.
2. Speed limit data is dreadful, and there’s no way to report it. Why not use the same speed limit data as TomTom GO, which is way more accurate?
3. Maintaining two separate maps is hurting both of them, as point 2 is an example of. Orbis often has more up to date geometry, but wildly inaccurate POIs and speed limits. TomTom GO’s geometry is often outdated, but at least it’s possible to report errors with POIs and speed limits and get them corrected. Orbis’s POI data seems to have been forked from the older map’s data instead of being in sync with each other. So when issues are fixed in GO, they aren’t fixed in Orbis. These issues make TomTom an app I prefer to use for traffic information when I’m driving in a familiar area rather than for getting directions in an unfamiliar area.
4. When browsing a distant location on the map, perhaps to plan a drive, if I tap on a POI, the moment I close that POI’s information sheet, the map pans back to my current location. That’s extremely annoying.

Hate this app
I wanted an app that I can load a predetermined route into and the app and then give me turn by turn directions to follow that route. Not create a different route. The app lets me do this - I can import GPX files. However it then ignores my route. It keeps recalculating and wants to take me on a completely different route. At one stage it was recalculating every 5 minutes trying to take me down dirt roads that were actually longer than my predetermined route by quite some distance. For me, absolute rubbish

Great app but missing a few critical functions
Great app to start with. A few improvements ideas
1. Needs to support offline map.
2. Needs to have a bit of AI such as if we normally go to work every morning, the system should ask if it can direct us to work.
3. Needs to support Siri commands
4. Needs to be able to put our favourite place on the main screen.

Notification Sound
The apps is awesome. But missing the old Beta versions notification sounds options and selections to notify when hound over the speed limit.

Good but why can’t change volume?
The app is good, so far, but why is it I can’t change the voice volume? Nothing I do works - the volume just returns to the default “whisper” volume, so unless you have an EV with no music playing, it can’t be heard 😭

Battery hog
The app drains my battery in the background and by a lot more than any other app so I have deleted it. It also has a bug with not automatically changing to light background during the daytime. I also had a blank screen on CarPlay which would not resolve.

Works but….
Was a long time Tom Tom user thought I would try this after a long time on other navigation apps. It works, however missing integration. Eg to navigate to an address requires this to be typed into the app… making this difficult when other apps or even the standard iOS Maps can be done via Siri. Does not integrate with other vehicle displays apart from the main CarPlay screen eg no heads up integration. So unfortunately it has been uninstalled.

If you need app for basic GOS navigation this one is good - simple and easy to use.
I wish this app would have the option to download maps for different countries for offline use without mobile network. After traveling you should be able to delete the maps ultoy no longer need. That would make the app very appealing.

A missing function
I like this app as it is handy and helpful. But I found one function was missing in the recent update. After click the speed limit on the screen(before filling the destination), the speed limit and actual speed will be on display in the whole screen. I use it everyday and like it. Would you add it back in future release? Thx.

Great App
I find this app very good, with very clear, timely directions. The navigation screen is not overly cluttered with unnecessary information. I would like to see audible warnings of speed cameras etc. They are clearly marked on screen but I use CarPlay and would prefer not to be always looking at screen. Otherwise a very good app.

Loses connection with CarPlay ,the map freezes as there is not any data though I have 5g coverage active.
If I open the app on my phone not an issue.
However when connected to CarPlay the map is blank more often than not.
Very frustrating.
The native apps on CarPlay work well it’s just this app that does not.

3D view not working on CarPlay
I updated the app recently to enjoy the new version but the 3D view doesn’t work via CarPlay anymore, it worked perfect for previous versions, hopefully this issue can be fixed soon

So far pretty good app just one thing how come it doesn’t warn you on the same speed camera coming back opposite direction. The camera is displayed on the map but no warning. I find that a lot with other apps I have used . Please fix problem.

Great app, hopeless navigation
Love the app, and the features but it's let down by nonsensical directions, especially if you dare to deviate from the suggested route. At one point I was one left turn from my destination and it was squawking at me to turn "right and then right". When I zoomed out, it was trying to direct me kilometres back to a freeway onramp, only to bring me back to the same crossroads. Ridiculous. Good, if you like to get a heads up about cameras, but don't let it navigate.

2D Map North View missing
As a decade long user coming from Waze, first thing I always look for when trying new navigation system is the 2D Map North View.
The 2D Map north view in Amigo disappoints a lot. When it’s in north view it zooms out completely and always showing the whole route. I would expects the zooming to be automated based on the car speed. If car is stopped, map should zoom in. When car is travelling, map should zoom out and display the relevant surroundings buildings and road. The way Amigo had the map zoomed way out makes the navigation barely visible and usable.

Not a good app
I tried to navigate from Sydney to Perth, Australia and Brisbane to Darwin and Brisbane to Broome and the app says route not available.
What is point of having the app it won’t one capital city to another capital city in Australia??? Zero star would be more appropriate

CarPlay integration not great
A really helpful app, that generally works well when using it as a standalone on my iPhone.
My biggest gripe is the only time I ever use this app is via CarPlay, and AmiGo doesn’t seem to support the miniature map view on the CarPlay Dashboard Screen (the screen that shows your navigation, music and suggestions in one place). When minimising the app, it just throws back to Apple or Google maps to fill the slot.
If you’re navigating and you minimise the app, you get a pop up notification every second telling you the next step (which might be continue on the Highway for 200km) which effectively blocks you from pressing anything in the bottom 1/4 of the screen without cancelling the navigation first.
If TomTom could implement proper CarPlay navigation integration like Waze and Google Maps have, this would be 5/5!

Nice gps wish it had option for offline maps
Nice easy to use GPS navigation app seems to run quite stable even on older iPhones. The mapping display is nice showing speed limit and actual speed. It would be nice to have the option to download maps over wifi for offline use like Sygic and google and maps.me to avoid chewing data.
Also it doesn’t work full screen on an iPad mini which is a pity because Waze, Magic Earth and Sygic do. Also the latest visual cues while a good idea occasionally cannot keep up with multiple turns on quick succession. Live traffic display is nearly on par with Waze. All in all Amigo is a good ad-free alternative to Waze. I’d happily pay a small premium for option to download maps offline without paying for the full TomTom Go.

Better than waze
Since google bought waze it’s gone downhill, eg. mobile speed camera reports alert get deleted (tested with mates using same road). Just started using this app, amazing. I’ll promote to all my networks.

Clunky
No ability to minimise the “where to” pop up section which means a vast section of the map is not visible.
No ability to in real time notify other users of traffic hazards such as debris, crashes or congestion. No ability in real time to have traffic density mapping.
No ability to update fixed or mobile traffic cameras.
Overall, pretty useless!

No auto start or minimal view
App used to have an option for auto start when connected to the car and also a minimal view of just the speed rather than a full map. These very useful features have been removed for some reason.

I really like the app with all the features but I still use Waze currently as Waze has apple CarPlay support where Amigo doesn’t. One Amigo has CarPlay support I’ll be using it in the car.

Actively using location
When exit the app it’s ACTIVELY USING MY CURRENT LOCATION..
Only way to switch it off is to double click home button to exit app. A little annoying if forgotten, will drain phone battery quicker.
Otherwise seems to be an ok app.

Has potential
Amigo has potential and I’d love to use it instead of Waze for camera+ notifications. What’s stopping me is the lack of option to choose its sound output (Waze has this) — I want to use the phone speaker usually.
I love the simplicity and way Amigo looks though. Just need that one improvement.
