If there was a zero star .......
This has to win the prize for least intuitive, most obscure app that I have ever used. I’m pleading with my school to return to the previous system. It shouldn’t be so hard to find where I can top up my account. Thank goodness that my son simply purchases what he wants from the cafeteria each day - it would do my head in to have to order lunch as well! For those of you in that position I feel your pain.

This app is difficult to navigate and use. I have 3 unread notifications, despite having opened every single message in the app…. Makes it easy to miss new notifications, which is a pretty poor outcome for a tool which is supposed to make communication easy….

This app is a bad time.
This app is disgusting. Charge a service fee every order, charge a card handling fee, and a percentage of the total amount you top up. Then bombard you with ads and try to sell products that they clearly get paid to promote. Either don’t charge me and show me ads, or charge me and make it ad free… not both. The top up often takes ages to go through, the app crashes regularly and it’s just an all round bad time.

WORST APP EVER!!!!
You top up your funds to purchase your child’s lunch, go through the process of putting the order together to then want to confirm & order the lunch to which it advises you have insufficient funds WHEN IT CLEARLY STATES I HAVE THE FUNDS THERE! Having to delete the app & download it again for it to hopefully refresh, then having to do the process all over again. WARNING IF YOU ARE TO ORDER ON THE MORNING, BEFORE THE CUT OFF! Do not. Due to what I’m assuming is the high demand of the app with frantic parents, like myself, it will lag, crash, come up with a blank page for I’m telling you a good 15-20 mins before you even see a spec of writing. The amount of times I’ve sat on the app for a good 30-45 mins ready to throw my phone is ridiculous. Order the night before or get your bread & butter out. For what’s meant to be a helpful & productive tool to help feed & order for our children, this has to be the worst app I’ve ever used!

Ordering is terrible always having “technical issues”
Since they changed their app and website the whole experience is horrible. Firstly the website crashes almost every morning when you are trying to place orders. Always having “technical issues”.
They need to get their processes working properly. To order for multiple kids you need to order for one child first. Then go all the way back to the home page to then process the next child’s order. Very unproductive the old app use to let you order all the kids on one screen.
Really disappointed that they have moved away from what they started out as which was canteen and uniform ordering. Bit interested in all the advertising and other useless garbage on their site.
I would NOT recommend this for schools to use.

Goes down a lot
This is a ok app, but they need to get the bugs out of it. At least once a week, app goes down when trying to do a online order. However it never seems to go down, when adding funds to account. Plus with the little bit extra we pay when putting funds on the account. There should be a loyalty program, example for every $100 spent, get $5 off next order.

If you’re thinking to yourself, “oh, I’m running a bit late, I’ll order my kid lunch, that’ll be quicker.”
It’s not.
And if you’re also thinking, “oh, I have 11 minutes to order this before cut off, that’s heaps of time.”

If you think, “this modern app is way better than when my mum used to give me two dollars in a brown paper bag and send me to school.”

Truly awful - rarely works and is a waste of time
I’ve never left a review for an app before but this is so consistently bad I felt I had to. Because our school uses this app for canteen and uniform, I have no choice but to use it regularly. It is awful. Ordering lunch should take 5 minutes at most. I’ve been trying for the last two hours - it simply doesn’t work. Last week my child was sick and so I wanted to cancel the lunch I’d ordered. The school’s cutoff time is 8am. I tried to cancel at 7.30am - again, app not working. Customer support is woeful, available a whole 4 hours per day, so good luck getting help when this horrible app is down. I should add, the website is equally bad and unreliable.
Thankfully our school will be moving away from Flexischools in the very near future (apparently the fees are outrageous, especially when we also pay fees on EVERY transaction and still get tonnes of rubbish advertising). I can’t wait!

Another useless Application
This app is the most useless, rip-off and plenty off unwanted emails.
They force you to use it even if you do not want too then charge you extra every time.
Also, even when you unsubscribe and close your account they ignore it and still send you plenty of unsolicited email and spam.
This app is teaching kids the wrongfully, like use other people’s money or borrow money even if you do not have it on top they charge an account keeping fee, a transaction fee, a top up fee a surcharge.
It is like, we are going to force this app on you like it or not, but at a cost, so we “Inloop” can stay in business at your expense.
This app and service provider should be banned from schools.

-Topping up account understandably incurs a fee but to charge per child doesn’t make sense as you don’t go into a cafe and place a seperate order per person in a group....

-Surely orders for more than one sibling can be sent to the canteen on one order/receipt... 🙄
-I’ll probably use this app for times I don’t have cash as the service fees x3 kids at least twice a week would add up too much. $$

Trying to order my child a canteen lunch, flexischools tells me I have no current orders... will not let me place an order, and there’s no lunch menus or uniform range to be found!
Entirely useless and stress inducing for parents, this app needs to review its mission statement, because it’s making it damn well impossible to use at the moment!

Doesn’t handle PayPal properly
A neat and easy way to order lunch food for your little one. BUT my PayPal email-ID is different to the email for orders. When I top-up using PayPal, even though I enter the right details it always substitutes my email address so my PayPal top-up fails. This bug needs fixing. All other sites/apps that I use can handle this properly.

Every time I use this app I can never find what I’m looking for. A simple task like trying to top up funds for school canteen has become so very difficult.

Amazing!! 😜 A few tips about the update
I love the app. It was a bit confusing at the start but once I got the hang of it it was easy!
Tip 1
To order food all you have to do is click click on the profile icon, space and press the top up. Space once you have done that and added your money to your account, space you need to press the home icon. Space once you have gone to home scroll down to food, you will see the different ways to order your lunch!!
Again such and amazing up makes ordering tuck shop so fun 🤩!!!

No lunch for my child
After trying to order for more then 40mins in the morning because the system was down I finally got to do so, 15 mins before it was too late for the day. The order was completed and sent off. This was not my first time using it, so I know you do t get a confirmation email after every order. The school rings me and tell me my preppy 5 year old has no lunch and the order is not in their system. My little ones special tuck shop day is Friday and I know how devastated he would have been to have no lunch, while everyone else did. Not cool guys. Your app needs serious improvement. Luckily my school was awesome and took him to tuck shop and got him something

Since the updates in 2021 this app has become completely useless! It’s forever loading, requires constant restarting just to get it to work for 2 lunch orders. This morning took 20 mins to order!! There’s no support for schools or users, claiming COVID as the issue. Totally useless!

This app is not fit for purpose. It’s obvious that Flexischools’ allegiance lies with advertising dollars and not with producing an actually-useful app. It’s counter-intuitive and has no nod to content design, whatsoever. When you do get to the lunch ordering section, it has obviously not been user tested. It doesn’t follow any usual conventions.

Terrible App
This app is one of the most infuriating apps I have ever used. It frequently glitches. It often asks you to log in mid order and when you do try to log in it doesn’t load. It crashes a lot.
While the concept is good and when it works it’s fine it is unfortunately too unreliable.
Glitches with this app has meant my child has had no lunch on occasion and this is not good enough.
I have contacted the company directly but there seems to have been no money spent on fixing this app to make it a reliable, functional system.

I had to look up how to place an order because it was not clear, the answer was to go to the home page and scroll down, not to discover the app won’t allow me to scroll down and there is no information.
The old app was fine, this version has been very quickly deleted.

I used Flexischools last year. It was easy to add a school and a student. This version is useless. I had to close my account and register with a different email address and after all that, I can’t even order. What is the developer thinking??? Get your act together and produce a decent app!!! Unusable
I’m sure it’s great if you have one child. Trying to order tuckshop for more than one child is impossible. Even after deleting and reinstalling the app, every time I try to place an order it keeps bringing up my first child’s account and will not let me change to a new child. There seems to be no way to refresh. So useless - come on developers, this is an issue of basic functionality. A frustration I could do without on a busy school morning. Getting tuckshop is supposed to be a timesaver. Not with this app. I give up. 🙄

The app and website are terrible. Extremely slow and buggy. Needs a full rewrite. There is no customer service and they are deleting comments and questions on their social media. I hope schools realise how terrible they are and move away

This app is terribly designed. Apparently the latest bug fix allows for class to be updated but it remains unavailable. Where I can order food or uniforms I have no idea - all there is are ads for things I’ve no interest in.

Failure at every turn
I have persisted with this app solely because our school doesn’t offer an alternative. Their response to feedback is disinterested, the user experience is clunky and needlessly complex, and the recent ‘update’ just. doesn’t. function.

Constant issues with this app. Parents don’t have time to reinstall or do a forced update when trying to get the children to school. Just tried to order and again, a problem. My students have disappeared and no option to reinstate. Disgusted.

Unreliable app and platform
This app is unreliable and clunky. At least half of the time when logging in it gives the “oops! Something went wrong.....please go back and try again” message (log in details are correct and strong internet connection-just saying). The main page is full of irrelevant links and finding where to order is not intuitive. Even if I attempt to use the desktop platform the “oops!” message greets me at login. When it works, it could make ordering lunches more convenient however Flexischools have a lot of work to do on this app to make that happen.

This app is terrible. It is slow, the UX is dreadful and it is atrocious that parents are forced to use it, with no choice of an alternative. Having problems logging in. When logged in click to update student details and it’s not there at all to do. Try the laptop to see if different yes but very very slow also so it gets times out as I get logged out. Fix it please.

Needlessly difficult user interface
This should be an easy interface to set up. The landing page has you scrolling down through advertising to find what you need. All menu buttons should be on one screen on the home page. The most common thing a user wants to do is order either food or uniforms. This should be at the top but you have to scroll down to find it. Next most important is your account - this should be second on the list. The ordering interface itself is very difficult to use with the product you select then being listed twice in the menu, both with quantity options. It’s highly confusing for no reason.
On top of this, the help section doesn’t appear to be for the current version of the app, so it’s useless.

TERRIBLE!! And SAD AF!!
This app is so terrible. I ordered my daughters lunch, then when I picked her up she said her lunch didn’t arrive. When I went to check what happened It said update required and then I saw there had been a bug or some issue with the app, so my order was never made. They didn’t send any email or notify me in any way that my order had been canceled, so my poor daughter had no lunch! When I spoke to the school they said this happens often! I hope the schools ditch this and go for something else because it is just horrific that kids end up getting no lunch due to Flexischools incompetence.

I only use this because the school canteen uses it. It’s the worst user experience design for an app. The owner needs to look up UX and start simplifying the process users go through to complete tasks. Like I said, terrible (and this is the ONLY time I have left a bad review)

New version is hopeless. Don’t bother. Zero stars.
Pay for EVERY order, wade through advertising and now being sent email advertising because of this app! SCHOOLS DO NOT USE THIS APP!! The old version was clunky but usable. The new version is all but impossible to use. It’s so frustrating as it is not easy to make an order (so you give up) and the main feature of the new app is advertising! I cannot order as the stupid thing keeps telling me I need to update details, which I have done. So since the update, I have not been able to order lunches or uniforms. Not that I think Flexischools cares about that, but maybe they care that they are losing out of their little fees I would otherwise have been paying... and why we still have to pay when there is so much advertising is beyond me. Annoying as I have money in Flexischools account that I am unable to use now. Contacted support, no response after a week. Hopeless.
Schools, do not bother with this app! Surely there is a better one out there somewhere.

If only there were zero stars
This app is absolute rubbish, I’m going to approach Rostrevor College to replace this with something else. Feedback falls on deaf ears, clearly by the bad reviews.
-1. App is not native, you’ve wrapped a webpage inside a container, you should make a decent native app.
2. App has so much other garbage that is not needed, focus on its function, to order school lunches.
3. You can’t order more than one lunch order at a time, so if you want to order lunch for two children for a week, you have to order 10 times separately. This is just stupid.
4. Checking out requires 4 confirmations and to keep repeating the same questions each time. You need to adopt the KISS approach. Keep It Simple Stupid.
5. You’re making off like bandits with the fees, put that back into the app and make it better.

Too many ads / poor design
Every time I use this app I get frustrated in how difficult it is to use. The decision to put advertisements at the top and actual services we use the app for lower done was a poor one. This is not a free app that needs ads to make money - you make money every time we use it to buy our kids food.
I also often have difficulty buying my daughters food on it because of bugs and errors.
Your actual service of online ordering is a helpful one - please spend more time and money making the app and website for parents to use!

Does the app developer even take onboard and customer feedback?
This app is far as I am concerned is the only way to order my son’s school lunches. I don’t want to see all of the other marketing rubbish and I don’t want to have to scroll down from the homepage to find the start of the lunch ordering process.

Hopeless
Who decided to change the app that worked? Now it’s hard to find where to order the food, every time I’ve ordered one thing I get locked out, and have to reset my password to make another one. Sometimes I am so aanoyed my son tells me not worry about it, and goes without lunch. And the add on ‘service fee’, what a joke, that’s just price gouging. Really unhappy with the whole thing now.
