NG+ is where it's at!!
Seriously... Your first normal playthrough is just the tutorial and to get you familiar with the movement/weapons. NG+ is where the real fun begins! On top of more collecting, upgrades, moves, and more complex enemies... Fewer respawn points was just chefs kiss.
The only gripe: please please let me skip the 3 second boss animations at the start! I know who I'm fighting. I've fought them 50 times now.

Outstanding! My favourite game hands down!
Absolutely love this game and have replayed it through a number of times. Graphics are fantastic. A good variety of bosses that are really hard, which makes it satisfying beating them at last. Storyline is good as well. 10/10 from me.
Please bring out another game like this!!!

Good concept but awful jumping puzzles and difficulty spikes
Having completed Demons Souls, Dark Souls 1-3, and Swordigo, I hoped and expected to like this a lot.
Initially it seemed good fun and pretty playable for a mobile game. Then I got to the Act 1 Boss and discovered levels are pretty irrelevant, you have to run an almost perfect fight regardless. Went exploring and also found a side boss that's even harder plus it summons infinite minions into a tiny pit. Why this was put in Act 1 I've no idea.
Grinding through the Act 1 Boss certainly took a lot of the fun out of the game, but it got smoother after that for a while. Then I reached the jumping puzzle in the Dark Iron Mines, which is like trying to play Hollow Knight's White Palace sequence with a faulty controller. Just... no thanks.
Came away feeling very disappointed.

My favourite game of all time
This game is the best game I’ve seen I only have an iPad so I rarely see good games and this one just makes my day I play it even after I’ve beaten it in both regular and new game+ your always in action the controls are simple and the bosses are amazing and there’s achievements that give you something to do after you beat the game Grimvalor is just a masterpiece it’s like dark souls and Swordigo had a baby and birthed this 100/100 masterpiece I love it so much and I hope dire light makes for games cuz there amazing at it

Castlevania Feels
This game is great. Found out about this one from Gameranx on YouTube and I’ve loved every bit of it. I’ve already sunk 10hours into the game and I’m going to be playing new game plus because it’s just outstanding. Fantastic story great seamless gameplay well worth every cent. I’m hope we get more for this title.

Floaty controls
Obviously taking dark souls-esque design cues, the game however feels floaty and there’s no impact, it’s too quick. The axe felt more enjoyable to use than the sword because of that. I don’t enjoy it and probably wont finish it, but it’s far from the worst game on the store and worth its asking price. The sound design feels lacking like there’s no oomph, the characters look strange, I wouldn’t have minded if I could customise my character a bit more. I like the enemy and boss designs though!
In short: not bad but not great.

This game belongs with the greats of ios titles. The gameplay and controls are simply amazing, beautiful aesthetics too. Wish they do expansions. Would gladly pay more to support.

Actually really good. Surprisingly good.
It’s not attempting to hide its obvious Dark Souls inspiration, but in this case it actually works really well. Gameplay is unexpectedly smooth, polished and fun, and presentation is great. Also, no in-app purchases.

Good game
Recently I have played a lot of games on mobile (IOS) and this game is the best so far. For a hardcore game, the play style of this game has really good mechanics and story to follow. It has many little bidding spots for loot to be found for much needed upgrades. If you are sick of pay to play/win games that are filled with adds and these questionable “deals” then buy this game and have a play you won’t be disappointed.

Amazing !
Honestly, it’s pretty rare to find an offline game with a nice gameplay. This one does, but it’s also beautiful, has a nice story, and had a huge life duration.

Finally! A mobile game that’s not mired in micro transactions, not hobbled by waiting mechanics and skinner boxes, but a well polished, beautiful title with tight controls. Price is low for how good this title is.

It’s hard to imagine the same developers of the incredible Swordigo could make such a dramatic improvement, but that’s just what they’ve done here.
Swordigo was lauded for its core playability. Excellent precise controls, challenging yet forgiving gameplay, lovely story and general addictiveness. Grimvalor maintains that but takes it up a notch by creating a dark mood through amazing graphics and lighting.
This is a very polished console worthy “sequel”? Technically not a sequel, but some lovely similarities to Swordigo.
Anyone who’s a fan of fast paced hack and slash platformers. Or just wants a game they can sink their teeth into quickly. You’re looking at the new benchmark on iOS.

Serious Diablo 3 vibes! I love it.
I hope to see more classes or grinding. I haven’t played the whole game but it would be kinda sad to just finish the story with nothing else to do. Either way, this game is seriously well made.

Absolutely Fantastic
I don’t usually review games, but wow. It’s so amazing to see such a fun, high quality game on the App Store. Combat is challenging but not crazy hard, the story is really interesting and the customisation and upgrade mechanics are great. No micro transactions and no drama, you download it and it plays perfectly.
Outstanding effort by the dev team and I’ll be recommending this to all my friends, I truly hope to see more single purchase games of such a high quality on the App Store in the future.
My only mild issue is the male player character’s face looks a little unpolished compared to the females, could use a bit of a touch up to me but that could just be the way I’m looking at it.
Apart from that very minor point, absolutely brilliant job!
