After terminating my subscription twice now I will not be returning. They do not compensate for any mistakes made on their end. I’ve had a few little problems over the course of my subscription but this has got to be the worst. My delivery didn’t come and when I asked about it they said it was changed on their end to come 5 days later, technical mistake, whatever. I spend extra money to get groceries in the meantime as my box was already paid for. My changed delivery dates finally comes and my meals were not sent at all only my add ons I ordered (a brownie). They apologised and started to process a refund and said I will have to wait for the funds to return. I feel for the people who don’t have the extra money in their budget to make up for their mistakes as they don’t compensate at all. I cancelled my subscription once and for all and will not return. You must do better if people are relying on you for their meals, not everyone can afford to spend that extra bit of money to make up for Marley Spoon’s mistakes. It’s simply not good enough!

Loving Marley Spoon. It takes all the fuss out of meal planning and shopping. We are eating healthier too. I’ve learnt to check the nutritional info when selecting meals to avoid the really high fat choices and have been pleasantly surprised by how good the meals are. It’s rare for me to modify dishes as they’re quite tasty. Once once the delivery was delayed by one day and I’ve never had anything missing. Would definitely recommend.

The app is not designed to be straight forward and their system has bugs in terms of delivery. Bringing the delivery forward makes it to become backward. App doesn’t give you notifications and you still need to rely on sms and email messages.

The food itself is tasty, generally healthy and the portions are generous.
But I’ve had missing ingredients which meant I had to go the shops to purchase it. Also one time my delivery got dropped off to the wrong address and once again had to buy groceries at the shops for the week. Although it was more of the driver’s fault it still was quite inconvenient.

Would not recommend Marley spoon again. Very disappointed with the first delivery itself. My order never got delivered on the timeframe selected and when I rang them they said it’s still In the warehouse and cannot provide a timeframe it will be delivered. I did try the app support as well and he said the parcel is with the delivery person and cannot do much about it. Unfortunately I will not be home outside the timeframe hence why I did pick a timeframe when I will be. What is the point Of being able to pick a timeframe then. When I did ask the app operator would I be able to get a refund for this as I did not receive the parcel yet he said I’ll have to wait and see for 24hrs. Such a bad service so you just have to order something and pick a time frame but give it 24hrs more to be delivered. Will cancel Marley spoon

It’s a bit of a nightmare being a vegetarian that doesn’t like mushrooms. Everyone makes an assumption that if you’re veggie you love all veggies 🤢Marley Spoon is the first meal kit we’ve tried that provides a wide variety of veggie and vegan options that aren’t all mushroom based and actually use plant-based ‘meat’. It’s only our first box, with our second on it’s way, but we’re hopeful we’ve finally found the meal kit for us!

I have an adult family of 6 (Not everyone home at same time) I order 4 serves between 3/4 meals per week, we now all share the cooking (Making my life easier) and the kids are proud of their cooking efforts!!
BEST THING: It is Exciting, Easy, Fresh, and saves me at least $80 per week as I don’t over buy by trying to cater to everyone! I also tried Hello Fresh food was good but way too many steps and time to make….
I am time poor and would never continue with anything that easy into this at family time!!

Ok food, sometimes the portions are out. Too much or too little. Mostly fresh but not always the best quality. Beef is often a bit tough. They rely on lots of little packet of flavourings which is fine if you’re used to it. The fish is always really good. Good variety mostly. It’s convenient which is the best part really.

We have been long term Marley supporters but we have recently noticed that the quality of the produced and the portions of the produce have dramatically reduced. Some produce comes and is inedible forcing us to replace the items we are paying for.

So much packaging is used for these meals. If all meals are packed freshly why is the need to have all the veggies individually in plastic bags. I also don’t think there is a need to individually package a lot of pantry staples such as white vinegar, fish sauces, oils etc. Can these not be included in the ‘what you need list?’
For such a big business, I also believe there should be away the freezer packs can be recycled.

Normally the veg are fresh and I’m amazed how long they last in the fridge. Once I did get bad potatoes and sent a picture of them to Marley spoon and did receive a response quickly and credited me for the error which was good as this has been the only incident I have had over many meals I feel their quality is very good that if there is a problem you can contact them knowing you’ll get an answer

Marley spoon has a lot of unnecessary plastic: some items could easily be in paper.
I recycle all plastic at redcycling (at Cole’s / Woolworths). I know none of my neighbours do. Could you please promote this more?
Also why do the reusable ice bag not be reused? We can’t save 10’s of bags in our freezer. Marley spoon delivers could collect the ice bags to reuse, is that an idea?

I’ve just started using MS and found the allergen information in each recipe on the app particularly helpful as I am gluten free and have a sulphite sensitivity. It would be even better if there was an option to filter recipes by allergen information as it would speed up recipe selection (instead of opening each recipe independently and clicking on the allergen information link). Long time and loyal MS customer here. I loved the old app! I loved my library of “love hearted” recipes, I loved seeing my reviews and ratings on them, I love how easy it was to change recipes for the following weeks.
I extremely dislike that you have to scroll all the way to unselect a recipe (old app you could click on it and it would take you straight to it), I HATE that you’ve removed my favourite recipes, and that you can only go so many weeks back instead of viewing entire history. It’s prettier but way less user friendly.
I have the sheets, I paid the money, I can remake the recipes easily again.. I don’t know why you would bother taking this app option from us. I prefer to scroll through my phone to view them recipes than go through a million hard copies. I don’t know why you’ve made it so difficult for us to have access to them! Please give us back our favourites - also I miss the squid recipes, please bring back your squid recipes.

I updated the app today and all I can say is REGRET! All of the features I used, such as favourite recipes, being able to search all recipes for inspiration etc. are gone. I don’t want to have to search through old orders to find things. Did you consult any of your customer base and do some market testing before launching this? It just seems like a bizarre step backwards.

Great meal delivery service, generally good service when needed and great recipes to choose from.
The new app however, is really a downgrade from the previous.
Extra steps to rate a recipe - I’m more likely to rate after eating, not right after cooking, now it’s at the end of the cooking instructions I’m less likely to rate.
Also no library anymore??? If I want to find something I’ve made before, I have to go back through my history box by box - not even a search function 🤯
The recipe library is highlighted in the overview of the app - but is not available anymore, so that’s a little bit misleading.
With the older app I would be rating 4 stars +
Because the actual subscription service is fantastic and delivery is mostly good.

Don’t even think about getting Marley spoon! If they don’t deliver your box on time they just won’t deliver at all. And if you think you’re going to get what you ordered, think again! And then when you try to contact them they say to leave your number and get back to you, they won’t. Oh and also when you try to email them and they say they’ll get back to you, they won’t. What a complete waste of money. Seriously take your business elsewhere. Worst experience ever!

I’ve been using your old app for the past 2 years which I found easy to navigate and just some feedback with the new app it’s now a long convoluted process to simply rate a recipe. In the old app you could see the 5 stars rating on the front of each recipe and easily click on the stars. Now on the new app the stars are nowhere to be seen and instead you have to click on the recipe and then click “start cooking”, then scroll through all the cooking steps and instructions and then click “done cooking” and only then does it finally allow you to rate the meal. Another thing I noticed with the new app is it only holds 4 weeks worth of upcoming menus at a time whereas your old app (and the desktop version) has 5 weeks worth of upcoming menus.

Have been using Marley spoon for quite a while now and love the service, not a fan of this new app, has made my ordering experience more difficult. Unless I’m not understanding how to use it correctly it only shows me a single week at a time?
I found it much easier to plan ordering and change recipes when I could see what I was ordering weeks ahead? I was definitely more inclined to order repeatedly previously with the old app.

Having used multiple meal kit services over the past 8 yrs I can safely say Marley Spoon is the best. Freshest ingredients, decent portion sizes, lower carbs, tasty dishes and the easiest company to deal with if there is a concern.
Plus the app is simple to use and doesn’t hide important information (like how much the weeks total cost is!)
Choosing the right meals (based on a high number of non-starchy veggies and lower calorie content) has helped me slowly but surely lose 5kg in 3yrs despite entering menopause. I think if I’d have stayed with Hello Fresh (or others) it would have gone the other way.

We love Marley Spoon and it’s convenience. Always bills ok and had no issues with delivery.
However the new app design doesn’t provide a good user experience.
The ‘past boxes’ don’t show any of our recent boxes. Only shows things from about 5 months ago and earlier.
The app is slow to display content as you change between things.
The initial screen assumes this is my first order ever as it says something like ‘We can’t wait to start cooking together. Once your first box is shipped...” etc but we have been on Marley for 18 months or so.
When you add a recipe to your order. You can’t view that recipe by tapping the image in the carousel at the bottom, so if you want to review it you need to find it back in the list again.
The nutrition information is part of my decision making and this is now more clicks away so it’s annoying that the calories at least aren’t part of the initial recipe description.
Some further usability testing might be in order. Please improve. It was so annoying it made ordering much more of a chore and less enjoyable.
No internet connection

Latest app on iPad only shows screen that tells me “It looks like there is no internet connection”. Internet is working however. After all I’m writing this review on my iPad right now. I’ve checked settings and everything looks good; Background refresh is active. Deleting and reinstalling didn’t help. I’ve had this issue for the last couple of weeks but it was working before that. Strangely, the app is working on my iPhone.

The more I use Marley spoon the more I love it. I’ve learned more about cooking in 4 months of this than the rest of my life before it; it makes it so easy to create amazing food. I always hated those Instagram dinner photos - but feel like doing it after every Marley I cook!

Not wasting paper or card for recipe cards is great. However, having an app that doesn’t auto rotate is a basic and fundamental flaw in the background programming and one that is more than frustrating for a company who is doing so well in the other areas. Please can you sort this out ASAP so that people can use it in whatever rotation they need on whatever device they may need to read the recipes on.

The app does what it needs do, EXCEPT you cant see it in landscape mode, which is very annoying especially if your trying to read it comfortably. Please fix this.

The app constantly freezes and crashes.
Takes longer than necessary (imo) for screens to load. And error messages appear without justification. Bugs need fixing ASAP!
Also, rating recipes is great but there is no option to leave feedback unless it is 3 stars or less.
Even a 4 or 5 star recipe may have some feedback - positive feedback!

I was a Hello Fresh customer before I was made aware of Marley Spoon. A door knocker signed me up and haven’t looked back since! Much more recipes and produce is fresh. Both are really good but I like how Marley Spoon have lots more variety

It’s highly unorthodox in any market, to be expected to pay money before even being able to see even an example of the product that you are purchasing. Unless there is some functionality I’m not seeing? I’d really like so to see what’s on offer before handing over the cash.

Our 11 and 14 year olds have eaten and enjoyed every dish so far. Our kids have even been happy to cook some of the simpler recipes- the recipe cards are v easy to follow.

This is a great app and service.
The new interface for swapping dishes with bigger images is great but sadly let down by the constant red error message flash at the top of the screen if you have anything less than the maximum number of dishes.
It makes what has been clearly designed to be a quick and fun task a chore. Surely it only needs to be show when a user tries to exit the feature or save their order? Hope to see a refinement soon.
