Only get to view 10 recipes before you have to subscribe. I’d rather just use google
After having and paying a subscription for I don’t even know how many years and having countless recipes saved, app crashes and logs me out then I log back in and everything is gone! I actually feel sick about it I had so many great recipes and now they’re all gone! This app is terrible and it shouldn’t be an app you have to pay for, the amount of glitches it has is ridiculous! If I could rate this app 0 stars I would!!!
I had collected hundreds of recipes and organised them in about 25 cookbooks.
This morning all but 2 of my cookbooks are empty. All those recipes gone!!!
I have been using your app for about 8 years.
This about the fourth time this happened!!!
It seems to happen every 2 years.
Every time I have to painstakingly rebuild my cookbooks.
I am very very frustrated.

So disappointed! The update and having to login again has wiped my saved recipes. Very frustrating. Whilst I love the recipes the app itself has issues.
This app will not work with Apple keychain. If you try to use keychain, your account Is locked out. It continually pressures you to use a social media login. Logging out is difficult too, redirecting to the subscription page instead.
I have tried downloading this app twice with no success.
I select through my cooking preferences, and then the personalised homepage doesn’t even open. Just says “loading”.
Same issue as everyone else. You guys don’t read your reviews? I went through the bother of trying to reset my password multiple times and when I try to log in on the app it says unable to log in to my account over and over. I have been a paid subscriber for a long time. You can view the recipes for free on your website... I just liked the convenience of being able to save my favourite ones and have it handy on my phone whilst cooking. When I get the time I will just print out my fav recipes and put them in a plastic sleeve folder and get rid of this 99c per month rubbish that doesn’t even work.

Omg, how do I un-update the newest version?? I can’t save any favourite recipes! They save initially, then when I exit the app and come back on, they’re gone!! This was happening with the previous version, however I found out that the recipes only saved when I was logged out, so I okay with that. However, I updated the app to see if this version would fix the problem, and it doesn’t!! And i can’t do what i did before (log out and save instead) because the app won’t let me log out and save anything without logging in! I’ve loved this app for so long despite the constant bugs, but my god I’m so close to raging!! Do you not trial the new version before putting it on the app store? Who the heck is behind technical team???
Likewise, same issues as everyone else. Contacted customer support and haven’t heard back for weeks. It’s like they have one person sitting in the office replying with ‘thanks, we’re checking into it’ and that’s all the staff they have. I’m very happy to pay for an ad-free app... if it works.
Pay a monthly 99cent subscription and can no longer access any recipes. My favourites are still listed but can not view unless I subscribe. My subscriptions under my apps suggest I should be able to view all recipes until 14th June. Not good.
Update: 1 week later and no solution has been provided. BEWARE: Do not use this app!
I’m having the same problem a lot of other users are having. I’m a long time subscriber, are logged into the app, but I'm receiving the message that I need to subscribe. Over half my saved recipes have disappeared. Will be unsubscribing if not fixed.
Same issue as everyone else. My saved cookbooks are all gone, it’s an empty blank screen, I am furious as I’ve been paying for the app for so long and collecting so many recipes along the way.... and now they are gone. Can’t log in, can’t do anything to fix it. No customer service to fix it other than “we are aware”. Yet they are still happily posting their videos etc to FB. Just like the page on FB, save items and get rid of the app, not worth it.....
Despite paying for a subscription i am not able to access the recipes, and i get the message that my trial period has finished.
Still waiting for customer service to sort this out

An update to previous review below. I’ve now unsubscribed. The amount of issues are ridiculous for a paid app! Perhaps by next month the existing issues will be fixed but in the meantime it does not help.

From approx 19May I’ve been unable to access the app. Each time I open it I get a pop up saying WARNING SEEMS LIKE YOU ARE HAVING NETWORK ISSUE. PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER.
I have tried uninstalling it & reinstalling it and restarting my phone. Then I see below that this is a widespread issue!
As we are all paying for an app we cannot use it would be great if:
1) Someone from Taste.com.au sent some form of communication advising when the problem will be fixed (I get emails from you guys about everything else BUT this)
2) Refund our Subscription Fee as the app played up throughout the month of April into early May before crashing completely.
This app is so good for recipes, but it it very glitchy and gets annoying! Right now, even though I am already subscribed when I search for a recipe it tells me my free recipes are over and I need to subscribe - but only then gives me the option to start a free 30 day trial. Once I click on that it tells me I am already subscribed. So still no access to new recipes! Very annoying!!
Just went to use the app as per normal but am now being told that I have zero recipes left in my 10 recipe free trial and that I have to subscribe. I have been subscribed for many years so am unsure of why I’m getting this message?????
I note the same issue I will report on is a common thread. This is not acceptable, many emails to the feed back asking, requesting support, replies, thank you for your feedback.
Very poor customer service, this is a paid subscription with no access. Taste has been a great app, but now I am close to not paying for it anymore. Maybe a Social Media campaign might get the situation improved.
Been paying the monthly subscription for ages but now can’t see any recipes because the app is broken. It’s telling me I have 0 recipes left in my free trial. No way to restore purchases or otherwise convince it I’m already subscribed.
Pointless app. Have set a reminder to cancel at the next billing cycle if it isn’t fixed.

Subscribed and paying but can not access any recipes! Please fix as it looks like it’s happening to everyone! Have used this app/website for years and am sick of finding and saving recipes only to loose them down the track. Please don’t let us lose them all this time around!
I’ve been paying to use this app for at least 6 months and now I can’t access any of my saved recipes as it says I need to subscribe. Annoying!
Tried to open the app yesterday. I use it almost every day. It’s now saying I am not subscribed and have no access to any recipes. I am subscribed and I pay my $1 per month. Everything is up to date. Within the app I also checked my subscription and it says I’m subscribed but the rest of the app says I’m not. Really annoyed.
I’m paid up as a subscriber and for the second time the app tells me I need to subscribe to view a message. When I contact customer support I get a useless computer generated response. Save your money and get it for free on your web browser.
Something is wrong with this app it keeps saying my free subscription is over and I need to subscribe but I’m already subscribed!!! Can not use the app till this is fixed.

Subscribed and was happy for awhile that the app actually worked, now getting messages saying I need to subscribe to access my saved recipes, which I already am subscribed and paying for. But can’t access my recipes! Not happy once again after this latest update.
When was the last time that this app was FIXED??. I cannot log in to my account via my iPhone or iPad via Facebook. It just comes up with those “loading circles” then disappears. Please fix this ASAP.

I’ve logged out and back in, deleted the app and loaded again and still nothing! Would be great if I could use the app since I pay for it!!!
I was happy to pay the subscription fee however there are so many issues in the app crashing while using and favorites not syncing between devices. Now it’s not recognizing my subscription and so even though I’m paying it it’s telling me I only have a certain number of recipes left for the month.
Been subscribing for years and now not working. Says I’m subscribed and won’t restore subscription. So why am I paying for something that doesn’t work?
Getting very frustrated as I am trying to view recipes on the app and am getting notified I have no free recipes left and to subscribe.... I have had a subscription for years. I am logged in, even clicked subscribe to get around it that way but it knows I already have a subscription!
Need to fix this ASAP as the number of small inconveniences are adding up and I am pretty close to cancelling the subscription and just googling recipes 😒
I’ve used this app for years. Happy to pay the subscription. But now it’s not letting me look at any recipes - telling me I have to subscribe. I’ve been subscribing for ages. Needs fixing ASAP!!!
Long-time subscriber, but suddenly today when I opened the app, these was a message at the bottom of the screen saying “You have access to 0 recipes on your free trial” and I couldn’t open any recipes. So I clicked on the “Subscribe” button next to the message, eventually got to a “Subscribe Now” button and (surprise, surprise) got the message “You’re currently subscribed to this”. What now? TASTE gets my money, I get nothing.
I keep getting an message saying I have access to 0 recipes on my free trial but I have been paying my monthly subscription each month for years! I can’t access any recipe now! Not happy. There’s no troubleshooting or anyway to contact anyone for help
Have been using the app for several years and really love the recipes but hate the latest upgrade, hard to use and full of adds. Not happy.
Why would I pay for a subscription when I can get recipes free from the website? This app is going nowhere fast with that idea
The shopping list is terrible now! It crosses off the items you actually need and also cleats everything you’ve already ticked off! So frustrating
Why do you have to pay a subscription to get recipes when you can get them for free on the website?
Great recipes and I’m happy to subscribe to use it but there are a few issues in the app that should be fixed.
When using the shopping list feature, when I go to cross off/tick ingredients I already have, the list starts crossing off other random ingredients that I still need. I can’t see any way to undo the cross outs so I just have to rely on the “ticks” next to them which don’t change.
It does make it very hard to use, otherwise the shopping list feature would be a great part of the app.
Unfortunately I updated the app and now need to pay a subscription. Have been using for years for free. Really annoyed
Guess I can google the recipes for free so I’ll just delete.
Would love to be able to print recipes as I only have an iPhone and it keeps fading out during preparation.
When I can go on google for free. I thought getting an app would be an easier way to access favourites but not paying for something I can get for free. Seriously. Deleted straight away!
I love this app and even pay for the subscription, but have had problems since late. I cannot log in at all and thus cannot access my cookbooks, which is very frustrating. Contacted admin on various occasions and nothing has been done. This issue has persisted for a long time now and I’m rethinking my subscription.
Please admin, fix these problems NOW.
I really wish this app worked better because the recipes are great! While cooking with the recipe open however, when the iPhone goes to sleep and you go back into the app it doesn’t save your spot so you’re back to the home page. Really frustrating having to find the recipe over and over multiple times while cooking. I’ve also had multiple login issues - wish it just stayed logged in!
Was using it to view a recipe then my iPad went to sleep. When it woke up I had to search for the recipe again. Next time it happened it went back to the setup process. I’ve been patient enough. This app is rubbish. I can get the same or better from using Safari. I’ve canceled the subscription altogether.
First time using the app - was scanning through it all was told to subscribe to view more. Thought it was a little odd to need to pay, but went to subscribe anyway and the function doesn’t even work? I tried hitting subscribe multiple times and without even loading the app says says “Failed to finish request, please try again”. I’ve tried restarting the app, restarting my phone and even reinstalling the app but nothing has helped fix this. So the app is rendered completely useless as I now can’t view any more recipes.
I use this app every week, and it makes cooking for a large, busy family very easy. My teens and younger children are able to use it too. What would make it even better though, is if we were able to make notes on our favourite recipes, e.g. little changes to suit our tastes/context, so that the next time we cooked it, we could remember what we had done previously. I would love that.
