I don't know what possessed me to give this album a try. I have been, quite strictly, a rap fan for quite a long period. I went completely left winged one day, and decided to purchase something new for a change. Boy, am I happy I did. Not only can the guy sing like crazy, he plays guitar extraordinarily well (this does not stop him from having times throughout the album, where he will repeat chords to create a very smooth, simple instrumental) and raps with a great flow. When this album is not Ed getting quite personal and deep with listeners, on songs like "Afire Love" and "Bloodstream", you can find him being playful and fun, with very catchy beats and feel good vibes, like when you first hear "Don't", or become painfully addicted to "Take it Back". I'd recommend this album highly. I don't think enough people are willing to give Sheeran a good shot but, from personal experience, trying something seemingly completely different could have you listening to one of the more varied, well put together, passionate projects you may get your hands on in a while.
