FOSTER THE PEOPLE!

This album was so underrated this year. I thinks it is twice as good as torches.

Raw

With the massive success of Torches, largely fed by the two huge singles, "Pumped Up Kicks" and "Helena Beat", LA band Foster The People were always going to have their work cut out for them on album number 2. However, I'm glad to say they have delivered another indie pop gem.
If you are expecting a "Pumped Up Kicks Mark 2" you won't find it here. Infact none of the tracks are instant. This is more an album that seems to get better and better with each listen. The album opens with the stomping rocker "Are You What You Want To Be" which offers up hints of Vampire Weekend, and the album contains a number of pop gems such as "Coming Of Age" "Nevermind" "Best Friend"and ending on a quiet note with "Fire Escape". Every track on the album has it's own charm, and after a few listens you will be hooked.Mark Foster delivers soaring vocals, and the album delivers an overall rawer sound with more live instrumentation, as opposed to the more electronic infused "Torches". All in all, it's another stellar effort from Foster The People.

Mark Foster is A Genius

Love this album. The first two tracks really set the tone before 'Coming of Age' kicks in. The driving force is Mark's vocals and his well thought out guitar riffs. Torches is one of my favourite albums of all time but Supermodel seems to step it up a notch! Did not think that was possible

A new direction for a great band.

Supermodel is a long step away from Torches. Instead of the glossy experimental sounds you will hear on Torches with Helena Beat and Call It What You Want, This album provides a shiny guitar driven record. Supermodel is definately a heavier sounding record, almost like an Alt rock band, the driving guitar riffs add to the sounds complexity. Mark Foster's vocals soar throughout the enitire record and i'll guarantee you this record is a must listen to for 2014.

Foster the evolution?

It seems like an emphasis has been put on the vocals in 'coming of age'. Foster really pops out of the speakers during the verses with a clarity that wasn't found on torches, i like it. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album!
