i never new that wes had released this album till i searched on itunes

HE is the best !!!!!!

This debut album from Wes is probably the most inspirational, heartfelt albums i have eva heard. Every single song on this album unravells a chapter in Wes's life. So much heart and soul was put into this album and it shows, this is a must have in ur library!!!

i thought 'The Way The World Looks' is his debut album..... Then what is this i meen it is a great album but i am confused

Finally someone who is unique, incredably talented not only on performances which appear to be so natural and easy, but his song writing is the best i have heard since U2, Beatles or Led Zeppelin. I have downloaded recently Simple Sum and am hooked. Can't wait for the new release in March. What a lucky girl Charlotte is! Do what you beleive in Wes and keep it yours, your are fantastic!!!

A solid effort for an album he created in his tiny apartment. Just because he had released an album doesn't mean he isn't struggling with his career so he had every right to audition for idol. Anthony Callea was a vocal coach and he made it 'til the end! Mark had already performed in a band but that seems ok with everyone. The Idol show did mention Wes produced his own music where he lived during the auditioning stages. The people you wanted to win but were kicked out was from the lack of votes not because the show is rigged. Accept it.

This particular album is bland but he had a go of it and performed in pubs, at least he had the guts to go for his dreams, swallow his pride, admit his failures and try out for Idol. Or does he have to be a farmer to make it seem more fair for you all?

I like Wes' rock music and his michael jackson performance was sensational.

This is one Aussie worth Backing! Great Sound, Easy Listening.

Wes Carr is one of the best voices to come out of Idol his unique sounds and his extreme talent on stage his interaction with the crowd makes wherever he performs ecstatic.

The amount of songs all ready to be recorded is about 500 and i hope he has way more coming.

Easily and by far THE BEST undiscovered aussie talent I've come across in years... what is wrong with the Australian music industry and why does someone as obviusly brilliant and 'world class' go under the radar and then pop up on aust idol?? He's WAY too good for idol... seriously. ALSO to those that are giving him a hard time for having an album already out on itunes before his appearance on idol... do your research. Anyone can put an album on itunes these days and you DON'T have to be signed to a record deal - which Wes wasn't before idol... He's obviosly financed his own personal recording and I say good on him for backing himself... he deserves his success on idol and meets all the criteria needed to go on the show... I'm sure there is more to come!

this is an amazing album. such a deservant winner. just builds anticipation for his next album.

when i bought this album i whas expecting more of the rocking wes like we all saw on idol but hes gone for more of a softer look and i dont think its the best and he should stick to more of a rock style.

I can't believe that Wes was not discovered years ago - this album is brilliant, I can't pick a favourite track. Also check out Tamberlane - the band that Wes was a part of - another undiscovered masterpiece. Wes Carr - Superstar!

This is a beautiful, melodic and soulful album. A collection on folk / bluesy music that is so enjoyable to listen to. I have listened to Wes' original music for about three months and just love collecting more and more of his songs. His song writing talents are incredible. Best tracks here are: Soul All Stuck To My Face, Train To Yesterday, Simple Sum, Angel, New Day and White Rabbit Day. Enjoy!

PS: For those who don't know many people independently release albums without the backing of a big record company. Wes went on Idol to gain more recognition of his talent and his music. I think he has acheived that.

i'm just wanting to remind everyone of other musicians who became an over night sucess after several year and albums, such as Snow Patrol, i really don't think we should knock Wes just becasue he wasn't an overnight rocket first up, and look at the Veronica's, just massive now but Idol would not take both of them!!! Wes your dedication to your belief's has paid off, don't sweat the negitive people out there. You just need to find your place, and i think you might have done that.

I'm actually quite surprised, it's pretty good in my opinion - But too good for Idol? I wouldn't go that far, in fact, i don't think you can ever be too good for Idol, and if you can be, well i think Guy Sebastian is better than Wes so i'd say he would also be too good for Idol. Well what can you do?! I like it either way, and for those who think it's unfair for him to have had a contract and still win - Well I'm pretty sure this was independently released, as it says 2008 Wesley Carr, and he would have released it during Idol anyway, look at the date. The rules of Idol also state you can't have a contract to enter. Oh, did i mention it sounds good!

i think its a little strange how idol claims to be helping struggling singers and poor souls who are talented but cant get into the music industry! what the hell is up with this?? Wes Carr already has an album and obviously noone has liked it...so... why try again? that whole show is RIGGED.

If I had have known about wes before idol. I would have been at every show, even though I'm only 17, I think he is exactly what this counrty needs in the music industry. I only hope that as I grow up and try and live my dream, that I can stay as true to myself as he has. He can sing and he's a performer. I'm so over musicians who think that all they have to do is stand there and sing. Half of them don't look at thier audience. I can't wait to perchase this album and the next and the next...

I expected more from him but probably his debut album released in 2006 was the first effort. He sounds the same every songs. Anyway, there are one or two good tracks there. Hope he does a bit better with the upcoming album though.

I came to iTunes today to search for Wes's new single, only to find that he has had an album released way back in June '08. How can he win idol as when he already has or had a record deal? Yes he is talented but why can't someone that deserves a break win? On my last note I am happy that he won over Luke, however I would of liked to have seen Mark, Teale or Chrislyn win. Yes I do agree with the comment that he does sound similiar on every song. Not sure if I would see him live, now what I can say is I have paid good money to see Kelly Clarkson in concert and that is how I judge whom should win idol. ie: would i spend my hard earned dollars to see him or her in concert.

He won idol today

I had no idea that Wes had released an album until I searched iTunes for his debut song from Australian Idol. I have been avidly watching his progress on Idol and would have purchased this album months ago had I known he had already produced one. I have been listening to this album for the past few hours and I have to say Wes is the best talent of 2008 to come out of Australia without doubt. Look forward to purchasing your latest album on Dec 3rd Wes, Keep Rocking !!!
