Two times a charm

I've been to A Day on the Green twice. Both days, I've had an awesome day but the most memorable part of it has been that I've come away with a new artist to love. First it was Husky and their album 'Forever So' and now I find Darren Middleton. I can't say I've been a huge fan of Powderfinger in the past, but that's regrettable. If I had know that such a huge talent as Darren was a part of that great Australian band I would have paid much more attention. Splinters is an amazing album and I was lucky enough to have Darren sign a copy that I bought at DOTG in March. I bought it based purely on his song Fated Other which I heard for the first time on that day. Splinters has been on loop in my car ever since. I can't choose which is my favourite song they are all so beautiful. Maybe Favours (feat. Missy Higgins - my all time favourite Australian artist), but honestly it's so close I feel disloyal to choose just one song. I give this album Five stars but truthfully I'd give it more if I could. I absolutely love it.

Love it! Australian music at its best!

Congratulations to Darren on another fantastic album. 'Translations' is one of my favourite albums and I'm stoked to be able to add this one to the list. Such a great sound, gorgeous, meaningful lyrics all sung with such a soulful voice and the sublime harmonies of the guests on the different songs.
Did I say I love it? Love it, in fact I'm going to listen to it again now. Well done Darren!

Quality

Darren has done it again with a this great compilation of songs.
I can't say enough about how much I enjoy listening to Darren's music. A wonderful voice and melodic tracks, I highly recommend.

A special few..

How is it that one of your favourite bands (powderfinger) can have a soulful, talented and all round nice guy with a killer voice and not be the lead singer! Blessed to have heard powderfinger for much of my life, and then to utter sadness of them breaking up to profound excitement to hear Darren Middleton sing again.
Drag as a side project had so much promise but never got the attention it deserved
To now have 2 solo albums and a few eps - my ears and mind are genuinely thankful.
This is for the music lovers. The people who can listen to metal and then switch to jazz. The kind of people who can really appreciate true lyrics and pure music.
Seriously if you have any sort of musical inclination to listen to great music this and everything this bloke touches is gold!
And in the manliest way possible this is some of the most beautiful songs you'll ever hear.
