Rock's raspy-voiced crooner is a bona fide Brit legend

Rod Stewart's ascent from shaggy-haired, working-class charmer to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame jetsetter began in the late '60s as vocalist in the Jeff Beck Group—where he'd meet future Faces bandmate Ronnie Wood. By the mid-'70s, Stewart was a full-fledged solo star, topping both US and UK charts with the disco-inspired single "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" Stewart has been prolific over the ensuing decades, as his inimitably warm vocals have floated along over mandolin-laced folk, soul, rock and blues to produce many of pop's most beloved and familiar originals. More recently, Stewart has transformed himself into a classic pop stylist, turning his attention to covers collections from the golden age of American jazz and soul.
