This is, of course, down to a hard-hitting guest spot from Kendrick Lamar, who not only registers one of the year’s most talked-about music moments, but gets to the heart of a decade-long, slowly simmering feud at hip-hop’s top table. How this showdown plays out from here is anyone’s guess. But the pointed bars on this swerving trap heater certainly tell us one thing: King Kenny of Compton is not up for negotiating the throne.
